If the Akaka Bill were to pass (let's all work hard so it doesn't), Hawaiians/Kanaka Maoli would then come UNDER the D.O.I. (dept. of Interior). Look carefully at this video and insert the words "native hawaiians" when they say "tribes" or "indians tribes". Horrifying. The gross injustice towards the original inhabitants of the North American Continent/ Native Americans...will be echoing throughout OUR remote islands. We cannot afford to lose this battle.Donna------------------http://www.senate.gov/fplayers/I2009/urlPlayer.cfm?fn=indian073009&st=1100&dur=5582------------------

Although some people like to focus on the U.S. I focus on the survival of the iwi. This affects the survival of the iwi so I am reposting it here :-) because without the iwi there is no OIWI. Get it? LOL They said Ola na iwi. Obviously some people only listening to demselves LOL Ironically these people pose a threat to the iwi.Note that this is NOT from a US news agency. (They are biased.) Instead this is from Agence France-Presse:MDA claims success for ballistic missile interceptor
"The Missile Defense Agency says a naval destroyer off the coast of Hawaii successfully launched an interceptor that shot down a short-range ballistic missile about 100 miles above the Pacific. The Aegis system aboard the USS Hopper "successfully guided the SM-3 (interceptor) to a direct body-to-body hit, approximately two minutes after leaving the ship," according to the agency. Aegis-guided interceptors have now been successful in 19 of 23 tests at sea, the MDA reports."
So far the SM-3s have intercepted 19 out of 23 which is approximately 82.6% effective... which IMHO is good.Note that I don't argue or debate about the semantics like "US island state of Hawaii." Instead the focus is on OLA NA IWI... and that is that! LOLAnywayArticle in its entirety which the local press did not divulge partly because they collude with the "State" of Hawai'i to try to continue to brainwash local people:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever noticed if the grass is greener on whose lawn? Especially when heat of the sun has been overwhelming? Wela no!Have you ever noticed how people pass you by and drop their opala without picking it up? A'ole no!Have you ever noticed that the ha'awina that is given reinforces what we learn? A'ole pilikia!Have you ever thanked the po'e who have been there and dedicated their lives toward total independence? Imua!It all depends who is looking at the grass and their translation may differ. Are you ready for total independence? Did our Queen die in vain?It is difficult to interpret how other po'e feel, however since writing my dissertation, it has given me new meaning to understanding myself. What was it about the Hawaiian history that was not taught Kamehameha Schools? How long did settlers and those who are corrupt think they would withhold the TRUTH! We learned about from our kupuna and na hoaaloha.Henry Noa that gave new meaning to reclaiming our nation that lit my "torch." Bradah Iz gave me the inspiration to carry forth and Mana gave new meaning to shaping my identity. Overall, cousin Bobby, Tane and Alexander are those who paved the pathway so the footprints remained in tact. These are some of many po'e who have inspired me to persist! BE around those who care.Stay active in activities of interest that fosters personal and professional development!Stay kool and stay in school. Stay away from drugs! Get hooked on music, poi, or genealogy! Keep the mana flowing and stay linked to the Kingdom of Hawaii! Don''t sell yourself short from the truth of what really happended to our po'e.Have a nice day!namaka'eha

HELP STOP THE AKAKA BILLHearings To Be Held This ThursdayHelp stop the Akaka bill today by submitting testimony to the US Senate Indian Affairs Committee.Cut and paste the example below. Email to the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs - comments@indian.senate.govHere's The Sample Letter To Use -August 2009Committee on Indian AffairsU.S. Senate838 Hart Office BuildingWashington, DC 20510RE - OPPOSITION TO S.1011 - Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act of 2009Dear Senators Dorgan, Barrasso and Members of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs,I thank you for allowing me to submit this testimony in OPPOSITION to S.1011, which seeks to express the policy of the United States regarding the United States relationship with Native Hawaiians and to provide a process of the recognition by the United States of the Native Hawaiian governing entity.I OPPOSE S.1011: Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act of 2009 because -Lack of hearings held in Hawai`i that would allow the Hawaiian people to present testimony on the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act.In 2000, only two (2) days of hearings were held on O`ahu Island. All other hearings were cancelled. The current and past bills addressing the United States relationship with Native Hawaiians to provide a process of the recognition by the United States of the Native Hawaiian governing entity were subsequently redrafted and amendments were added with no input or testimony from the Hawaiian people. Therefore no hearings have ever been held in Hawai`i on the current legislation before the 2009 Congress. The Hawaiian people seek the right to a fair and democratic process that includes hearings on S.1011 throughout the islands that comprise the state of Hawai`i.For 9 years, Hawaiians have requested that the island wide hearings be rescheduled so that the hundreds of Hawaiians who want to testify can be included and their concerns heard. The effort being pursued in the US Congress violates the most fundamental principles of democracy and human rights.I call for the Congressional Committee to hold hearings on the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act in Hawai`i to provide the Hawaiian peoples their right to participate in the process and to seek amendments to the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act.Therefore, I strongly urge you to OPPOSE S.1011 until Congressional hearings are scheduled and held in Hawai`i on all islands, and in all States on the US continent where a significant population of Hawaiians reside, in order to provide the Hawaiian peoples their right to a democratic fair, free, and impartial process of self-determination and to empower them with the ability to determine the culturally appropriate mechanism for their own self-governance.Mahalo nui loa,Your NameAddressThen Email Your Letter To All Committee Members -Just Click On The Names For the LinksDEMOCRATS -Byron Dorgan - Chairman - NDDaniel Inouye - HIKent Conrad - NDDaniel Akaka - HITim Johnson - SDMaria Cantwell - WAJohn Tester - MTTom Udall - NMAl Franken - MN -E-mail -info@franken.senate.govREPUBLICANS -John Barrasso - Vices Chair -WYJohn McCain - AZLisa Murkowski - AKTom Coburn - OKMike Crapo - IDMike Johanns - NERead more…
Ms. Amelia Gora and her few followers as well, this is for you......CLOSING A DISCUSSION FORUM BECAUSE YOU WOULD RATHER HEAR YOUR OWN OPINIONS IS NOT A DISCUSSION; ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CLOSE A DISCUSSION BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR OTHER PEOPLES RESPONSES - THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO CREATE BLOG POSTS. YOU'RE THEMED "ESSENCE" ARE MORE OF A BLOGGER CHARACTER THAN SOMEONE ACTUALLY LOVING CONVERSATION WITH PEOPLE. YOU WASTE SPACE AND TIME OF PEOPLE WHEN YOU NIT PICK AT OTHERS CHARACTERS IN OUR HISTORY WHERE FOR THE MOST PART WE ARE AWARE OF MAJOR PLAYERS IN THE CHANGE OF OUR HAWAIIAN HISTORY - WE DON'T NEED TO BE REMINDED IF IT DOES NOT MOTIVATE US TO COME AS ONE AND UNITE UNDER ONE FOR THE COMMON GOOD OF PO'E ON SOVEREIGN ISSUES. THAT TYPE OF POETRY IN WORDS IS MORE NOISE THAN MOTIVATION FOR THE COMMON GOOD. SOME CERTAIN PERSONS HERE ON MAOLIWORLD MIGHT SAY "PILAU DAT KINE".YOU MOST CERTAINLY HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK YOUR MIND BUT IF IT ISN'T FORUM MATERIAL...DO IT IN BLOG POST OR ON YOUR WEBPAGE. HAVE SOME DISCERNMENT ON WHAT YOU POST.

In a recent US Supreme Court case, the State of Hawaii made the fraudulent claim of "Perfect Title" to what it calls the "Ceded Lands.” But the truth is, these are stolen lands and the state has no title “perfect” or otherwise. The state’s big lie in open court (and the court’s acceptance of that lie), has opened the door for us — the rightful heirs — to sue to take back the national lands of the Hawaiian Kingdom. As the rightful heirs, today’s subjects of the Hawaiian Kingdom are preparing to sue the State of Hawaii and the US for illegal possession of Hawaii’s lands and other assets, and for depriving Hawaiians of the use of these lands for the past 117 years! There are two types of lawful claimants: heirs (kanka maoli, by virtue of the undivided interest set forth in the Mahele) and beneficiaries regardless of koko (by virtue of being nationals/subjects/citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom). Heirs have rights in terms of ownership. Beneficiaries have rights in terms of benefiting from the national assets.Join us in taking back the trust lands! Let's do this everybody! We must get to the oppressor where it and they will hurt the most, to use their own laws against them. We can and we will overcome!!!Go to http://aloharevolution.com/petition right now to participate in ultimately changing and tweeking the course that we are on, so we all can ultimately get to our desired and specific destination, which is a "FREE HAWAII. Mahalo nui!!!Bruddah Kaleo

It has been my 'elua (second) Papa 'Olelo Hawaii. It only seemed like yesterday as I noho and ho'olohe ke kumu. As the memories returns, it much easier for me to mapopo the lessons. It is not easy nor is it a task to learn our own native language. As I practice with my keiki, I will improve over time.Never be ashamed of when to learn to speak 'Olelo Hawaii. Every perspective may differer, however it is our kuleana to perpetuating the Hawaiian cutlure. It found this as an opportunity to expand what I learned and iterate the importance to my children why our langauge is important. These are the greastest gift of life that I cheerish - my children and learning to speak 'Olelo Hawaii fluently!A'ole pilikia. It is time to turn the clock toward doing something wondreful like this. For my family and friends who like KNOW:My bestest friend is from Kauai and has Ni'ihau roots. Sometimes he sassy though LOL but he is cool.My other oiwi friend Welton Kanehiwa has some roots there too. They both cool.Well the title of this article is SO annoyingly deceiving:"Free statehood event set for Saturday, August 1"http://kauai.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/20090722/COMPUB0801/907220304/Free+statehood+event+set+for+Saturday++August+1Trying to condition Hawaiians to get us to "celebrate" when Hellooo it's not a cause for celebration which is evident in the article itself. False advertising! On the part of the editors as usual.By the way I LOVE it when Hawaiians protest. Unfortunately in Hawai'i they try to make it seem as though it is a bad thing to protest.I also wrote about how some Hawaiians voted for President Obama. I find it ironic and wrote, "I think to myself... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU... voting for OBAMA????!!!!" Seriously... some pseudo-intellectuals are GOING to get us killed.I also think about how some people are going to get us killed. Then what? The iwi not going mattah. And that is why I no bother. They can do what they like do and I going do what I like do and that is THAT! LOLAnyway my family and friends will laugh... and I am glad! It makes me happy when they laugh... and when they LIVE. Always gotta have some jerks though like I tell one of my friends who is in law enforcement... just cuz YOU grouchy no mean that the rest of us going be grouchy too LOLLatahs!
