The push is on to get the Akaka bill passed in the upcoming “lame duck” US congressional session after Tuesday’s elections.

Akaka bill proponents know if they don’t succeed now, they probably never will.

Always the one to sell out those they should be protecting, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs has lately been spreading misinformation about the Akaka bill and its effect upon those of Hawaiian ancestry.

Want to make sure you don’t buy their lies? Then watch Free Hawai`i TV this coming Wednesday for the truth they’re not telling and the lies their selling.

WHAT DO HAWAI`I NATIONALS WANT ?

What They Say About Their Country & The US -

"The most common sense thing is for total independence.

We were a progressive modern nation of our time and recognized as a friendly, neutral nation within the Family of Nations, the predecessor of the League of Nations and the United Nations.

We had a democratic form of government, a constitutional monarchy with a bicameral legislative assembly.

The works and legacies of our monarchs are legendary and noteworthy.

Today under the illegally occupied American system, we are concerned about our lands, culture, people and lifestyle which has been under attack for over a hundred years.

The Kingdom of Hawai`i is not only Native Hawaiians but subjects of non-Hawaiian blood who were legitimate subjects of the Kingdom.

This racial argument is an American thing and not Hawaiian.

So our concerns are well within our scope to protect all subjects of the Kingdom.

We do expect reparations and restitution from the US for the injurious damages to our nation, land and people.

The US government is well aware of this and is attempting a piecemeal settlement through the Akaka bill.

If the tables were turned around; which would you do? I'm sure it wouldn't be a hard decision.

Remember, Hawaiians never hated America.

We were never afraid that another country would take us over; we had over twenty-four treaties with various countries but the US is the only country that broke their treaties with us."

Instead of starting next week, the Army may have to wait a year or more to start work on a new Stryker Battle Area Complex (BAX) at Schofield Barracks in Hawai’i, while the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) reviews a 12-inch stack of Army plans for cleaning up depleted uranium (DU) contamination in the area.

NRC is also reviewing whether the Army had NRC approval for several actions: possessing DU spotting rounds for a few years in Hawai’i in the 1960s, doing a 2008 controlled burn in DU areas at Schofield, and removing DU from Hawai’i ranges recently and transporting it elsewhere.

This came to light in an NRC conference call today with the Army, the Army Corps of Engineers, DU and contractor Cabrera Services. Listening in were Joan Conrow of Honolulu Civil Beat e-news, plus geologist Mike Reimer and resident Cory Harden of Hawai’i Island.

The Army says a year of NRC review might be “overkill for doses of this magnitude”.

NRC lawyer Brett Klukan asked why the Army said earlier that a “100%” survey of Hawai’i DU ranges was not possible, but now plan to do such a survey for the BAX area. The Army said the cost would be high and some gullies were not safe to enter.

Klukan said if the Army begins BAX work as planned on November 6, with a controlled burn on DU areas at Schofield, that may be considered a willful legal violation.

Republican US Representative Charles Djou, who is seeking re-election next Tuesday, said yesterday he supports holding a nonbinding plebiscite in Hawai`i on the Akaka bill.

Some sort of advisory public vote in Hawai`i would be acceptable if the bill is not passed during an expected lame-duck congressional session after Tuesday's general election, and if it is considered in the future, he said.

Regardless of an advisory vote, Djou added, "I definitely think there should be some public hearings in Hawai`i" on the measure."

While this concept of “unity” sounds nice, it is not necessary or realistic to reclaim a nation.

After all, how “unified” is the United States?

In America’s “two-party system,” aren’t those two parties diametrically opposed over nearly every issue?

And what about the subdivisions of the many factions? Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Conservative Democrats, Liberal Democrats, Conservative Republicans, Liberal Republicans, Independents, Socialists, etc.

If unification is the ideal criteria, shouldn’t all these American factions be in “unity” or in “agreement” before the US makes any important decision or takes any action or conducts its operations?

Have you ever watched the US congress or the British parliament in session? Do they exemplify unity?

If you really think about it, democracy is the opposite of unity, while only dictatorships demand unity.

So why should Hawai`i have to conform to a standard that no other nation, not even the US, is required to uphold?

A Free Hawai`i is the unifying cause. The various factions are already united in what matters most — the burning desire to see Hawai`i restored as an independent, sovereign nation.

CHINA INFERS HAWAI`I NOT PART OF U.S.

New York Times - October 11, 2010

BEIJING — US Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates met his Chinese counterpart, Liang Guanglie, in Vietnam on Monday for the first time since the two militaries suspended talks with each other last winter, calling for the two countries to prevent “mistrust, miscalculations and mistakes...."

“...Why do you sell arms to Taiwan? We don’t sell arms to Hawai`i,”
said Col. Liu Mingfu, a China National Defense University professor and author of “The China Dream,” a nationalistic call to succeed the United States as the world’s leading power....

It’s easy to get discouraged when you see what’s been happening at Ka`ena Point, one of O`ahu most beautiful and sacred shorelines.

Dirt dumped decades ago now polluting tide pools, desecration of ancient Hawaiian burials, and recreational off-roading destroying what’s left of the area.

Yet that’s where we met Summer, one of Ka`ena Point’s self-appointed caretakers.

We quickly discovered Summer is a one-woman force committed to stopping this destruction by educating those doing the damage that Ka`ena Point is one of O`ahu’s most spiritual and sacred areas.

For not only does the area contain ancient unmarked graves, it’s also one of the few leina in Hawai`i - a leaping-off point for souls departing to the afterlife.

Family ties to this area go back countless generations for Summer and now she’s the one stepping forth each day showing that one person can make a very big difference indeed.

She’s got her hands full, but you’ll soon see for yourself why Summer’s just the person to stop this destruction on Hawai`i’s award winning

A Free Hawai`i would not be occupied by the US.

It is a sovereign state with dominion, the right to join the UN, and fly it's own flag.

On the other hand, under federal recognition and the Akaka bill, Hawai`i would technically become a "captured nation," meaning that international law could not prohibit US aggression and total extermination of its indigenous Hawaiian population.

Even worse, Native recognition would be conditional only after extinguishing Hawaiian Kingdom Citizenship political status (your right to exist.)

The Akaka bill would not grant full autonomous self-rule and would in fact destroy Hawaiian Kingdom territorial integrity which continues to exist right now, even as you read these words.

Why reject the Akaka bill for a Free Hawai`i ?

Independence is formal recognition of Hawai`i's territory and laws. It's subjects are not under US jurisdiction.

The Akaka bill means forever giving up all that and agreeing to being part of the US as wards of the US federal government.

The Hawaiian Kingdom still exists, has its own bill of rights, constitution and comprehensive laws.

Only by the assertion of our dominion and a Free Hawai`i can we protect our beloved homeland with international support.

Dioxin Distribution Map

The southeast boundary of the spray zone is the most accurate - unless they sprayed right over their own lab near the Wailua Reservoir. I just found a PhD thesis that was written in 1960 regarding the bauxite reclamation areas. The writer of the thesis has four areas documented: one at Hanahanapuni, one inside Waialeale, one just to the south of Waialeale and one at another crater just south of Hanahanapuni. All are in the general area of the Wailua River headwaters. I found this info after I plotted the approximate perimeter of the area. I have not found any references to tie down the north side of the poison zone. This is the least accurate. One report claims 111 acres were sprayed. Another claims over 200 acres were sprayed.

So far these are the locations of the sites I have found: Bauxite Reclamation Area, Waikoko Block, Sam Thronas Area (?), Hanahanapuni, Wailua Game Refuge, Moalepe.

The EPA declared the whole area a Superfund site in about 1990. Still researching this. They ordered UH to clean up the mess they found on Kauai, excavate all the toxic materials they buried, etc. EPA also found barrels of toxic chemicals in basements on UH campuses. Everything is vague. In 1990, there were still incinerators in California and Johnston Atoll. Those are closed now. EPA did not follow up until 2000. What they found was that UH dumped all the poison from Kauai into a Matson Freight container and left it somewhere FOR 10 YEARS. At that point, EPA levied a 1.8 MILLION DOLLAR FINE against University of Hawaii. This is one of the largest fines in history. In a country of gross and repeated toxic crimes, that is saying plenty. It is interesting to note that the UH local workers who died were not awarded anything because they were UH employees and had workmens compensation insurance available. These stories don't exactly match up - just like the rest of the documentation. I did not take a lot of notes on what I had found because it was all so vague. I was waiting to get the reports I ordered from the EPA.

What I got was a bunch of nothing with impossible instructions that led nowhere. The EPA has no original or ongoing reports of any of their investigations. Now they say it is not a federal site, so they are not responsible. Everything has been purged from their site apparently. I called EPA in San francisco to ask for information. I was told by the investigator that I should contact State of Hawaii, Dept of Health. There is nothing on their website regarding dioxin across the interior of Kauai. Looks like a cover up all the way around to me.

I found some activity by Akaka who is on the Senate Veterans Commission. He is down playing the effects of Agent Orange on Vietnam Vets and questioning some of the illnesses as being connected to the poisonings. If he had 10 pages of single spaced illnesses, he still couldn't include them all. Somebody needs to connect the dots here. Does he want to give Hawaiian Homes Land to anyone who goes into the military? I am brain dead from too much research right now.

I know there must be many other people on Kauai who are ill. The younger the person was when exposed, the more susceptible they are to the poison. I can very clearly remember lying on the punei (sp?) in the living room doubled over with stomach pain with so much saliva I though I would drowned. It came to me like a really bad flashback. This is classic symptoms of poisoning. Latest connection I have found with my situation and the Vietnam poisonings: My oldest daughter was finally tested at 10 years old for learning disabilities. Big problem. When the test results came back, they all backed off. She had the analytical reading ability of a 26 year old PhD candidate - and the ability to recognize the letters of the alphabet less than a kindergardener. I already found two other vets with children with the same trouble. Because this is so unusual, she was immediately admitted into the University of CA San Francisco learning disabilities clinic. They told me she was not illiterate because she had learned how to read by memorizing the shapes of the words. This seemed to get better along with the asthma and severe joint pain over the next 10 years. What a coincidence.

I am going to go back and start piecing together the dates and information regarding the experiments. So far it looks like not much matches up in the numbers and dates department. After I get it all together, I am going to put it all on a website.

The two former Hawai‘i Superferry vessels were acquired by the US Maritime Administration in a credit bid at an auction in Norfolk, Virginia, last month.

The Maritime Administration bid on the catamarans using the original $150 million guarantee that the federal government had already spent on the boats, according to a Maritime Administration spokesperson.

Hawai‘i Superferry shut down its interisland service in March 2009 after the Hawai‘i Supreme Court ruled that a state law exempting the Superferry from completing an environmental impact statement was unconstitutional.
