So beauatiful thank you for being there the night we confronted the army over Lihue (sp) it was awful. When that door was slammed on you with all the brutality of US violent power, I was so upset. I did not know who you were until days later. It was so devasting for both Pono and I. The issues of Iwi is a painful thing for us and you defended it so very graciously. For Pono and I--Naue is still perplexing. Your contribution helps Pono and I deeply when confronting the issues of sacred aina and it's Leina, sand dune iwi.
I recently looked straight into Dr. Emmet Aluli's eye to remind him about Kealaikahiki as a sacred continuity of our people not just a god, but a birthing place too as in Kohe Malamalama. May the future generation get passed the nature of a popcorn movie, and locate the real value of our work--Ku Kanaka.
