“Let Us Not Be Forgotten – A Visit With Palani Vaughan"
What’s so special about a parking lot near downtown Honolulu? Hawaiian entertainer and historian Palani Vaughan discovered it was the site of significant events during the reign of Kamehameha III. STOP THE AKAKA BILL
Federal Recognition For Hawaiians Does NOT Create Beneficiaries - Only Victims
Then, I order you and your family around, use your things and rearrange the rooms. I take down your photos and religious symbols, replace them with my own and make you speak my language.
One day, I dig up your garden and replace it with crops that I can sell. You and your family must now buy all of your food from me.
Later, I invite my father and his buddies over. They bring guns. We take your keys. I forge a deed and declare my father to be the owner of your house. I bring more people. Some work for me. Some pay me to stay in your house. I seize your savings and spend it on my friends. You and your family now sleep on the porch.
Finally you protest. Being reasonable, I let you stay in a corner of the house and give you a small allowance, but only if you behave. I tell you, "Sorry, I was wrong for taking the house." But when you demand your house back, I tell you to be realistic.
"You are part of this family now, whether you like it or not," I say. "Besides, this is for your own good. For all that I have done for you, why aren't you grateful?"
Without knowinng the finer details of nationhood, Hawaiian Subjects knew the Kingdom of Hawai'i was an acttive member participating in the Family of Nations which was recognized internationally as an independent sovereign nation-state. The Hawaiian Subjects were very much aware of the U.S. belligerent occupation of their country and vehemently protested against it while they depended on the rule of law to right the wrongs committed against them and their country by the dishonorable, racist U.S.A.
When the initial Akaka Bill was presented as a Recognition Bill, many found it repugnant since we were already a recognized nation-state by the U.S.A. and refused to b3e considered an indigenous tribal people of the U.S.A. To counter the overwhelming objection, Senators Inouye and Akaka along with Representative Ambercrombie then decided to semantically redefine the bill so it wouuld be more palatable to the people, thinking if it could be described as a Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act, native Hawaiians would buy into itt; believing it's a reconstruction of the Kingdom of Hawai'i as a "nation within a nation" status which actually amounts to a belligerent occupation on a more permanent basis.
The Native Hawaiian Reorganized Governing Entity is thus a much lesser status as the bona fide nation-state with total independence that usurps the power of the Kingdom of Hawai'i to diminish its true recognized status. The Akaka Bill is an added tool to promote and engage the doctrines of Manifest Destiny as ordained by God to the U.S.A. of which it is founded on. OHA tried to recreate a Hawaiian Kingdom as a restoration akin of the real thing to move into the Akaka Bill. That was the purpose of the Kau Inoa campaign. Some make conjectures without knowledge of Kingdom and international laws and some feel safer with the existing state of affairs known as status quo.
We have seen the U.S.A. transformed from a theocratic form of government to a republc in democratic form, to evolve into a bureaucratic, oligarchic form of governance which maintains and practices the racist WASP doctrines of Maqnifest Destiny. The U.S.A., till today, cannot produce a lawful Treaty of Annexation. The Hawaiian Subjects of the Kingdom of Hawai'i protested via the Ku'e Petitions of 1897. This is the legacy left to us by them and we continue to support it for us and for generations to come until justice and freedom is realized for all Hawaiian Subjects of the Kingdom of Hawai'i.
We are cognizant that self-imposed dishonor is placed by the U.S.A. on itself by scurrilous oligarchy that controls the U.S.A.
There is no lawful treaty of annexation of the Kingdom of Hawai'i. U.S. Congress rejected the treaty by failing to garner 2/3rds majority vote. The 1897 Ku'e Petitions signed by the Hawaiians Subjects answered the 1894 Turpie Resolution protesting against U.S. Annexation of its country.
The U.S. conspiracy to invade and occupy the Kingdom of Hawai'i began in the Executive Branch of the U.S.A.
The pro-longed belligerent occupation consistently violates the law of occupation till today.
Since none of the Hawaiian subjects naturalized to the U.S.A., the enforced proclamation creates a stateless people in their own country by denying their citizenship to the Kingdom of Hawai'i. Thus, the alleged State of Hawai'i must recognize the true status of the Hawaiian Subjects and respect them for it and to protect their rights as such as required through the law of occupation and the neutrality law which was established since 1854 and reaffirmed in the 1860s.
The Akaka Bill S. 1011 is repugnant to the Hawaiian Subjects and tthe U.S.A. must de-occupy the Kingdom of Hawai'i to right the wrong committed by the U.S.A.
HONOLULU – Throughout the country, raw statistics as well as qualitative data paint a grim picture for Native Americans and Native Hawaiians.
As evidenced in a just-released report, “The Disparate Treatment of Native Hawaiians in the Criminal Justice System,” for any given charge, the two groups are more likely to be sentenced to prison than any other racial or ethnic group in Hawai`i.
The extensive document came at the request of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs due to the alarming number of Native Hawaiian men and women incarcerated in the state and on the mainland.
This, coupled with the devastating impact imprisonment has on individuals, families, communities and the entire state, pushed OHA to conduct the research. This project was also supported by the State of Hawaii House Concurrent Resolution 27, passed in 2009.
The document reveals that although Native Hawaiians make up approximately 24 percent of Hawaii’s population, this group accounts for 25 percent of all arrests, 39 percent of incarcerations, and 41 percent of parole revocations.
Native Hawaiians account for more drug-related arrests than any other group, although their usage is not significantly greater, and their prison terms are longer than any other group....
I found the Hawaii Department of Health annual reports. The Agricultural Station on Kauai is still active as of 2010. Barrels were still being excavated after 2002. How is this possible? Dioxin causes serious, sometimes fatal health problems in as little as .25 part per TRILLION. (That is twenty five hundredths.) That is like one drop of water in 20 olympic size swimming pools. That is like 3 seconds out of every 100,000 years. IT IS ALMOST NOTHING. Yet the cleanup at the Wailua Reservoir is ungoing and it is right next to Wailua Homesteads.
WHY ARE THE WATERS WELLS IN WAILUA HOMESTEADS BEING INVESTIGATED FOR TOXINS??? It is all very vague, but the investigation is ongoing. Some of the chemicals dumped all over up there have an extremely slow dispersal rate. Dioxin goes straight into the fat cells and stays there until things start moving. It's like continuous poisoning.
Kaohi, do you look at the CERCLA investigations and reports on toxic waste? I just found long lists with photos of the spills, etc. I have not had time to go back and check to see if the dump by your home is there.
Do you know what the birth defects and cancer rates are for Wailua? It looks to me like the guinea pig effect is still happening there and no one is questioning it. I have not seen one report on illness in the population. Of course, the children won't start getting sick for 20 years. They are much more susceptible because their weight to exposure ratio is different than adults. Also, developing organs are much more susceptible. These are hormonal chemicals that cause severe endocrine disruption and DNA damage.

We were intrigued when Palani told us significant things had happened there.
Of course our first thought was “in a parking lot?” until Palani explained what had occurred there happened during the reign of Kamehameha III well over a century ago.
Well, that got our attention and fast. So off we went, and when we heard the story that Palani told we weren’t disappointed, and that’s putting it mildly.
We don’t think you will be either, so be sure and catch his fascinating tale in our brand new episode all this week on Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

The lame duck session in US Congress will start November 15 and it's unrealistic to think the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act will get to a vote on the senate floor before Christmas.
"I would say as a result of yesterday the odds are bad. I'm being very candid and upfront because I don't want people to have their hopes unjustifiably raised because at this stage I would say it's not one of the so called priority measures. There are certain appointments of judges that will go down the drain also," said Sen. Dan Inouye, (D) Hawai`i.
