WHAT DOES A FREE HAWAI`I LOOK LIKE ?

Hawai`i nationals want and deserve freedom just as much as US citizens do.

Some say, “the illegal act of war that overthrew your Queen can’t be erased . . . like it or not, you’re all Americans now.”

Yet every day we see people around the world fighting for and winning back their national rights. Their quest like ours is totally legitimate and very real.

Like everyone else Hawai`i nationals want four basic things –

FREEDOM The freedom to decide their own future for themselves. That “freedom” was taken away when the sovereign Nation of Hawai`i was taken over in 1893. It was taken away again by illegal annexation to the United States in 1898. And, it was taken away a third time by the fake statehood vote in 1959.

According to international law, a new vote must to be taken that offers three options – 1) Independence, or 2) Free-Association or 3) Integration (nation within a nation.)

RIGHTS The rights of the independent nation of Hawai`i were never relinquished. The suppression and denial of these rights must cease.

Everyone who descends from citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom prior to 1893, native Hawaiians and all others, are entitled to these rights.

IDENTITY The political identity of Hawaiians must be acknowledged by the United States. Hawaiians will decide their own future, without interference by the US.

Only those with any measure of indigenous blood may define who is native Hawaiian. A blood quantum imposed by others is an unacceptable means to divide and conquer.

LAND BASE - Hawaiians love their country and lands just as much as US citizens love the US. Hawaiians want all their land back, not just some of it.

Pohakuloa Military Expansion Opposed Unanimously!PhotobucketBelow is a brief report on the public hearing held Jan. 11th at Hilo Intermediate School cafeteria on plans for military expansion at Pohakuloa. The plans call for new live-fire ranges and training, and construction activities, at Pohakuloa, as well as high altitude helicopter flights and landings on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa in training for Afghanistan/Pakistan high altitude mountainous warfare. The first hour and a half was taken up with "open house" science fair type displays by military people who knew very little about the history of militarism in Hawaii and couldn’t answer many questions asked. But the public testimony portion on Pohakuloa was powerful. The public hearing portion started with Kumu Paul Neves and his Ohana/halau doing chants and then Paul led a Pule. Lots of young Hawaiians testified both in their native tongue and English. They spoke eloquently against the military desecration of the sacred mountains and aina. Other Hawaiians and people of all ages, testified as well. The testimony went for 2 hours. Not one person spoke in support of the military expansion plans. The PTA new commander and the Army Garrison commander from Oahu sat stoned-faced throughout the 2 hours of public testimonyMany citizens noted that no further military activity at the Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) should go forward. On July 2, 2008 the Hawaii County Council passed a resolution by a vote of 8-1 calling for a complete halt to all live-fire at PTA and any activities that create dust until their is a comprehensive independent assessment of the depleted uranium (DU) at PTA and a clean up of the DU present. The council’s resolution also called for 7 additional actions, none of which have been implemented.Several people emphasized that stopping the bombing and all live-fire, construction, and other activities that create dust at PTA is key. Du particles are particularly hazardous when inhaled. People testified that the federal government should pay for the comprehensive independent assessment, testing and monitoring for radiation contamination and that federal funds should be sought through Hawaii’s congressional delegation –senators Inouye and Akaka, and representatives Hirono and Hanabusa. There has been plenty of money over the years for military build up but very little funding for military clean up. It’s time to change those priorities. The bottom line is this: Hawaii residents don't want the U.S. military training to do to others what the U.S. has already done to Hawaii: overthrow and occupy its government and nation, and contaminate it's air, land, water, people, plants, and animals with military toxins.Stop the Bombing! Stop All the Wars!Military Clean Up NOT Build Up Now!End all Occupations! Restore the Hawaii Nation!1. Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject war as a solution. 3. Defend civil liberties. 4. Oppose all discrimination, anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, etc. 5. Seek peace through justice in Hawai`i and around the world.Contact: Malu `Aina Center for Non-violent Education & Action P.O. HAWAI`I AT CROSSROADS - NEEDS INDEPENDENCE

Maui Weekly - January 13, 2011

Native Hawaiians moving forward with their government is an issue that needs widespread community discussion. I support a sovereign Hawai`i, but not based on race. The overthrown Kingdom of Hawai`i was not based on race, and I’m glad the federal government didn’t pass the Akaka Bill.

How can someone else allow you to be sovereign? Either you’re in charge of your own destiny or you are not. Did early settlers in America wait for Britain to pass a law to give them independence? No—they themselves declared independence from Britain.

Hawai`i is at a major crossroads right now—our infrastructure is aging, our landfills are overflowing and our resources are dwindling. We need to declare independence from Mainland practices that are not benefiting us and bargain with access to our land as a most isolated place on the planet. We are islanders who need to realize we cannot continue to live with a continental mentality....

Mo ka piko... with pictures :)

For my family and friends:

I have been gone awhile. Home. To bust a nut. Or two or three. The nut is called Neil Abercrombie who took his oath at the David Kalakaua CORONATION Pavilion at the 'Iolani Palace on December 6, 2010 implying that he is ali'i. He is NOT ALI'I! LOL

Whoa some people were so pissed off. Except they weren't pissed off at Neil Abercrombie for acking like he ali'i. They were pissed off at us for DEFENDING the queen LOL We were there. Pomai is on the right. We were locked out which is odd considering LOL The lady on the left is the one taking tickets. If you did not have a "ticket" you cannot enter the grounds. Even real ali'i. They looked at us as though we were nothing. As though we were dumb. Who are the dumb ones. The ones fawning over a fake ali'i OR the ones defending the Queen. Yeah it was awesome and I am glad that I was there!

9334355700?profile=original

Had one haole lady too ARGUING with me when I kept screaming out "LIAR!" She tried to censor me. Ironic that when she and he were our age they used to protest. She wanted me to stop screaming my head off. Did I? Of course NOT. American 1st and Hawaiian National Article 3 BABY.

My older brother noticed the news and the first thing he said when he heard about protestors was, "Oh watch LANA GOING BE THERE" LOL and sure enough he saw me. He actually texted me immediately. He made me laugh.

Another highlight. A new tat. This has been 10 years in the making and it just came to me. I do not know how or why LOL But the message seems to be that my kupuna have my back. That is what I can deduce from it LOL I was fixated on choosing the islands plus three things of significance. Three things of significance?!!! Like what. I have to choose ONLY three??? LOL  I chose three.

A small portion of it with the kalo on Moku o Keawe and a surfboard on Maui near Ho'okipa Beach. The K is for whom. Keleanohoanaapiapi. The surfboard is red. Fierce. Why because my kupuna literally have my back. Haloa, Keleanohoanaapiapi, and my great   grandfather which is not visible in this pic because it says too much LOL

9334355897?profile=original

My younger brother has the kalo too but his has the roots. I do not have the roots coming out. If you have it the tattoo ends up itching. That's why mine only has the corm... no roots growing out of it LOL

Then it was surfing at Waikiki. More like back to Waikiki. Thanks to one of my cousins. I get so piss off in Waikiki!!! but not as much as I USED to LOL They have the men's statues at the beach but the queen is invisible. Hidden from the main walkways. As though she is invisible. I surfed.

9334356276?profile=original

And surfed. Can you see me? Can't really tell where I am or which one I am LOL and I like it that way.

Life is good :)

HAS SOMEONE STOLEN YOUR FAMILY'S CAR?

HAS SOMEONE STOLEN YOUR FAMILY'S CAR?

Your family car is like the sovereignty of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

Your car would make anyone wealthy who could occupy it.

The theft is clearly unlawful, even against the their own laws and constitution.

So after generations of denying and obfuscating the issue, the thieves finally admit they stole your car.

They concede that it's really not their car (Apology Bill, US law 103-150,) that they really don't have any title to it, but they declare how much they love the car, and how the grandchildren of the victims can't operate the car anymore anyway.

They also say since they have had the stolen car for so long, they now have a claim to it.

They have even repainted the car (Statehood) and done some maintenance.

And now they want to compromise.

They offer the grandchildren (you) the hubcaps, and when the you refuse, they try and offer you the wheels (Hawaiian Homelands.)

Then they offer to let you drive the car on Sundays (New Hawaiian Nation OHA is now proposing.)

Whoever gets title to the car is vastly wealthy.

That's why they've tried to brainwash you, telling you there is no title to the car anymore.

Yet valid title does still exist and international law as well as Hawai`i and US laws say the car still belongs to you and your family.

What does it take to get it back?

Demand the entire car back. Then jump in the driver's seat and drive away.

Attend a Hearing and
Spread the Word!

TUESDAY, Jan. 11, 2011
Hilo Intermediate School, 6:00 - 9:00 pm

WEDNESDAY, Jan. 12th, 2011
Waimea Elementary & Intermediate School, 5:30 - 9:00 pm.

This week, the U.S. Army is holding two hearings on its plan to expand operations at Pohakuloa Training Area to include risky high-altitude helicopter training on the sacred slopes of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. If can, please attend a hearing near you, and pass along the word to others!

This type of high-altitude military training exercise caused a crash in the Mauna Kea Ice Age Natural Area Reserve in 2003, jeopardizing human lives and damaging irreplaceable cultural and natural resources.

So far, the U.S. Army has done very little study on how these activities will impact irreplacable cultural and natural resources, endangered species, access, cultural practice, or hiking/recreation on the slopes of Mauna Kea.

You can find more details and talking points below. Please let the Army know that Hawai`i demands better for our sacred mountains.

Mahalo nui,
Marti

----------------

Proposed Action: High-elevation, high-risk helicopter training exercises in the protected forest reserves of Mauna Kea

- The proposed project area encompasses the Kīpuka ‘Āinahou Nene Wildlife Sanctuary, Palila bird critical habitat, a Native bird flight corridor, game management areas, as well as the habitat for twenty-one plant, thirteen insect, and ten bird and mammal species under state and/ or federal protection.

- Similar attack helicopter training exercises in Hawai`i have resulted in numerous crashes, injuries and fatalities. In 2009, the CAB lost two pilots when their Kiowa Warrior helicopters took a “hard landing” and crashed in flames near Schofield Barracks. Two other army aviators died when their Cobra helicopter malfunctioned over Schofield in 1996.  Six soldiers (4 of whom were from the CAB) were killed and 11 injured when two Black Hawk helicopters collided during a night training exercise over Kahuku in 2001.

Talking Points:

- Environmental Assessment is Inadequate: The Army’s Environmental Assessment is not forthcoming about the threats expanded military exercises on Mauna Kea pose to Native Hawaiian rights, fragile ecosystems, nor to other recreational uses of the area. Nor does it detail mechanisms whereby the Army can be held accountable.

- Require an Environmental Impact Statement: The Army must complete a full environmental impact statement -- not the minimal environmental assessment conducted so far -- on all of the Army training at PTA.  This EIS must include a cumulative impact assessment of all land uses threatening Mauna Kea (like the new giant telescope proposal).  The EA fails to adequately analyze: (1) noise impacts, (2) risks to recreational users, (3) threats to protected and endangered species in the project area.

- Require a Cultural Impact Assessment: This EIS should also satisfy Hawaii’s state environmental reporting requirement for a cultural impact assessment. The Army's EA notes some historic properties of cultural significance in the landing zones.  Instead of studying these areas more closely, the Army's EA relies on the 2009 University of Hawaii Comprehensive Management Plan.

- Mitigate Accidents:  This type of high-risk trainings have been linked to many accidents.  In 2003, the exact same kind of training resulted in a helicopter crash in the Mauna Kea Ice Age NARS.

As people who love and care for our beloved Mauna Kea, your testimony can help to protect this area from the harms of these dangerous military exercises.  Please attend these important hearings and spread the word!

By now most have heard the Office of Hawaiian Affairs plans to start a new registry and attempt to create a Hawaiian “nation” now that the Akaka bill and federal recognition are dead and gone.

But no additional new nation is needed since one already exists – the Hawaiian Kingdom.

Why does OHA refuse to recognize that fact? Whatʻs so dramatically different between the “nation” that OHA wants and the one that exists right now?

What would OHA stand to lose if they recognized a Free Hawai`i - the Hawaiian Kingdom? Weʻve got all the answers for you this coming Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV.

HAWAI`I NEEDS INDEPENDENCE FROM THE US

Maui News - January 7, 2011

The article "Native Hawaiians move forward with their government" (The Maui News, Dec. 28) is an issue that needs widespread community discussion. AKAKA BILL - WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO HIDE?

Had the authors and advocates of the Akaka bill, which by the way was amended over 12 times in the past 10 years, held public hearings on all islands throughout Hawai`i, opposition from the majority of the people rather than support from just the few like the Office of Hawaii Affairs, Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, State Council of Hawaiian Homes Associations, and Association of Hawaii Civic Clubs, would clearly and definitively have been expressed for the record.

The reason the Akaka Bill didn't pass the 111th Congress is because all the people doing the talking in Washington DC were not talking to the people on all the Islands in Hawai`i. They were all talking to themselves!

Make no mistake, the Akaka Bill is nothing more than another corporate swindle by the US.

As long as there are those who will continue to abuse their authority and take advantage of innocent, decent and hard working people I will oppose such predatory-sinister bills in the guise such as the Akaka Bill.

AKAKA BILL DEFEAT - VICTORY FOR HAWAIIAN INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT

Pacific Islands Report - December 27, 2010

Hawaiiansadvocating the restoration of independence for the Hawaiian Islandscelebrated the demise of the infamous "Akaka Bill" in the US Congress.

Withoutfunding or political standing, Hawaii patriots fought an 11-year-longbattle to stop the bill by facing down overwhelming odds of tens ofmillions of US lobbying dollars, the most powerful of the powerbrokersfrom Hawai`i to Washington DC, and a hostile press.

Thedefeat of the Akaka Bill is a true underdog/David-Goliath story, atestament to the power of the sheer tenacity of Hawai`i’s people armedwith the truth. It is a convincing victory for the Hawaiian independencemovement....

...With theAkaka Bill diversion out of the way, attention can be focused on thereal issue of restoring the independent nation of Hawai`i.

Hawai`iʻs cultural arts have been handed down orally for centuries.

She and her daughter were both instructors at a special “by invitation only” private workshop on Hawai`i Island and that’s where we caught up with them.

Theytold us of a timeless process, thousands of years old, the same exactone used and handed down today to create two of Hawai`i most famoustreasures.

WILL OBAMA RIGHT THE WRONG AGAINST HAWAI`I?

Honolulu Star-Advertiser - December 31, 2010

Morethan 100 years ago, our last reigning monarch, Queen Liliu`okalani, entrusted the US president with the responsibility to restore her to thethrone and right the wrong that was done by the US troops' invasion ofthis neutral nation-state.

That responsibility has been inherited and neglected by every US president since Grover Cleveland.

Whatwill you choose to do? Will your name be added to a list of negligentUS presidents, or will you do what is right for the people and the landof which you are so proud?

IS HAWAI`I A FAKE STATE?

IS HAWAI`I A FAKE STATE?

The United States acquired Hawai`i through force.

QueenLili`uokalani, Hawai`i's last Queen, was deposed on January 17, 1893,
by a group of American businessmen supported by the United States Navy
and Marine Corps and diplomatic representatives.

Sovereigntyof Hawai`i was allegedly transferred to the US on August 12, 1898
during ceremonies at `Iolani Palace in Honolulu, on the island of O`ahu
by a small group of foreign business men who called themselves the
"committee of safety."

Hawai`i allegedly became a US territory in 1900.

OnNov. 23, 1993, The United States apologized for illegally overthrowing
the Kingdom of Hawai`i, and recognized the inherent sovereignty and
right of self-determination of native islanders.

Needless to say, a lot of shady events took place between January 17,1893 and August 21, 1959.

There is not one document or shred of evidence to show that any land was transferred or given to the US by the Hawaiian Kingdom.
