"PONO ALERT" Why I'm DEPRESSED!!!

WHY I'M DEPRESSED!!
Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel , "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land."
Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land."
Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!
I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc . .. . I called a Suicide Hotline.
I had to press 1 for English.
I was connected to a call center in
Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal. They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck......
 Folks, we're screwed

While unity sounds nice, it is not necessary or realistic to reclaim a nation.

After all, how unified is the United States?

In America’s two-party system, aren’t those two parties diametrically opposed over nearly every issue?

We need look no further than the current budget crisis in Washington, DC for the answer.

And what about the subdivisions of the many factions? Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Conservative Democrats, Liberal Democrats, Conservative Republicans, Liberal Republicans, Independents, Socialists, etc.

If unification is the ideal criteria, shouldn’t all these American factions be in unity or in agreement before the US makes any important decision or takes any action or conducts its operations?

Have you ever watched the US congress or the British parliament in session? Do they exemplify unity?

If you really think about it, democracy is the opposite of unity, while only dictatorships demand unity.

So why should Hawai`i have to conform to a standard that no other nation, not even the US, is required to uphold?

A Free Hawai`i is the unifying cause. The various factions are already united in what matters most — a burning desire to see Hawai`i restored as an independent, sovereign nation.

DOES THE HAWAIIAN KINGDOM STILL EXIST?

Yes, the lawful, sovereign entity, the Hawaiian Kingdom, does still exist.

There are only two ways a nation can be extinguished - either through conquest - involving the military defeat and subjugation of its people, along with the physical seizure of its territory by the victor; or by consent - the un-coerced, free-will choice of its people to surrender and merge their nation’s sovereignty to another.

Even the unconditional surrender of Japan and Germany after World War II, did not extinguish their sovereignty.

They became occupied states but still retained their national identity. They were still Japan and Germany and the occupying forces administered and enforced the laws of Japan and Germany respectively.

Despite the incorporation of the Eastern European states into the Soviet Union after World War II did not extinguish their sovereignty.

Despite complete domination by the USSR during the “cold war,” when the Soviet Union collapsed in the early 1990s states like Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Czechoslovakia reemerged as sovereign and independent countries in continuity.

In the case of Hawai`i, after the illegal seizure and annexation, the status of the Hawaiian people (referring to nationals, not aboriginals) remained inviolate.

Neither a vote or plebiscite was ever conducted to gain the consent of the Hawaiian people to dissolve their country, the Hawaiian Kingdom. At no time did the Hawaiian Kingdom or Hawaiian nationals surrender their sovereignty or consent to a merger with the US.

On the contrary, there was fiercely vociferous opposition to the initial seizure and both efforts at annexation, as evidenced by the massive petitions and the prodigious protests in the press.

The Hawaiian Kingdom continues to exist. It did not expire. It survives even having been buried alive for over a century under the layers of US deception and fraud.

Those who live on islands must have successful land management systems or those who live there will eventually starve and die.

Such was the case with the ahupua`a system in ancient hawaii.

It worked so well that Hawai`i of old was able to sustain a population similar in size to todayʻs and yet no food was imported.

It was all grown locally and it was abundant, healthy and fresh.

Thatʻs why it should come as no surprise the ahupua`a system is making a strong comeback today, and one of those leading the way is Mahealani Cypher.

So if youʻre curious like we were on what this system is, how it works and what it means for the future of Hawai`i, join us in our visit with Mahealani on O`ahuʻs scenic windward side all this week on
Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

"Stewards Of Our Land - A Visit With Mahealani Cypher"

Itʻs not surprising that pre-contact Hawai`i had an ahupua`a land management system that was not only successful, bountifully feeding Hawaiians in ancient times, but is far better than what currently exists. And Mahealani Cypher of the Ko`olaupoko Hawaiian Civic Club is one of the main reasons why itʻs becoming so well known again. Join us in our fascinating visit with Mahealani in the beautiful ahupua`a of Ko`olaupoko as she explains what made this system succeed for thousands of years and why our entire planet can benefit from it today

Aloha Kakou,We need everyone to write in letters against Aulani Wilhelms' nomination to the KS/BE Trusteeship. She was put into the USNOAA position by the LINGLE Bush Administration when Lingle came to power. She was not qualified and had been at the DLNR in a media position but as elevated by the Republicans because she is the hanai of Dan Aiona, Lingles Staff aid. He was later removed because of the "sex" scandal. While at USNOAA she used her position to support the Inouye Hawaiians ( Nainoa Thompson, Aunty Laura Thompson, Oz Stender) use & access to the Northwest Hawaiian Islands for the US Military, while supporting the extinguishment of native Hawaiian entitlements for cultural gathering & fishing. ONly the US approved "pono" group (Pua Kanahele, Lilikala etc. are allowed in the NWHI for "cultural " access. She killed the permits for the last Hawaiian voyaging paddle canoe group from Kauai under Hawaiian voyager Kimo Kapahulehua to prevent them fro sailing as cultural practitioners and only recognized Nainoa Thompson as a Hawaiian voyager. He was given all the sailing permits but never made a trip. Now, Nainoa, his mother, Stender, Apoliona etc. are all sending in support letters for her. Wilhelm supported the US plan for greater militarism of the NWHI while opposing native Hawaiian use & access for subsistence fishing. Instead she supported a blanket exemption for all US Military activities in the MOnument AND AN EXEMPTION FOR THE US MILITARY FROM THE US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION LAWS!! We need to oppose this with as many letters as possible. Wilhelm will be inclined to do the same with KS/BE lands.Aloha,

Are Native Hawaiians getting a fair shake under the US occupation? Statistics show that 40% of all prisoners in Hawai`i are Native Hawaiians.

A blind-folded lady is the symbol of justice in the US, but a study by a non-profit group shows that justice is not blind towards Native Hawaiians.

A study by the justice policy institute in Washington DC suggests that Native Hawaiians are more likely to be sent to prison and for longer periods of time than other ethnic communities.

The study also found that Native Hawaiians don't use drugs more than other races, but go to prison more for drug offenses.

According to the report, half of people serving prison terms in Hawai`i are housed in mainland facilities. Statistics show broken families, isolated by incarceration, often perpetuate the cycle. In Hawai`i, 50 percent of youth in juvenile facilities are Native Hawaiian.

The number of Native Hawaiians in the women's correctional facility jumps to as high as 85%.

There's no need to create a new government when a perfectly good and lawful one — the Hawaiian Kingdom — continues to exist.

Although it has been greatly impaired by unlawful suppression and layers of fraud, the sovereignty of the Hawaiian Kingdom was never lawfully extinguished.

Therefore, there is no justification to contrive a new government to replace the Hawaiian Kingdom unless the people, the lawful subjects/citizens, called Hawaiian Nationals, decide they want to alter or change their government.

No one other than Hawaiian Nationals can make that determination — not the US government or foreign US citizens residing in Hawai`i, or the fake State of Hawai`i, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, or the Akaka Bill’s proposed phony Native Hawaiian Governing Entity.

Because the Hawaiian Kingdom is in continuity, there is no lawful way to alter or replace that existing government except through the processes provided in the existing lawful constitution of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

Prior to the Hawaiian Kingdom being taken over by insurgents during the illegal US invasion in 1893, Hawai`i had already been functioning for decades as a nation-state under one of the best constitutions in the world.

The United States’ prolonged occupation does not change the fact that the constitutional government of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the one in place from 1840 to 1893, is still the one and only lawful and indisputable government for the Hawaiian Islands.

The United States is a usurper, and has no lawful jurisdiction in Hawai`i.

Since the Hawaiian Kingdom was never extinguished, its constitution, laws, statutes and policies are still intact.

Itʻs an interesting fact that the population of pre-contact Hawai`i was about the same as it is today, yet no food was imported and everyone was well fed.

How was that done?

The ahupua`a land management system of old Hawai`i worked well.

Just ask Mahealani Cypher who is one of many dedicated to bringing it back today. We met her in the ahupua`a of Ko`olaupoko on O`ahuʻs windward side where she explained the system, how it works, whatʻs being done to revive it, and most importantly, why.

Kahea from Kaloman Keoki Fukumitsu: Rally to Stand and Work on the Aina

Aloha Everyone,

As I fight for my family Kuleana, I realize that I fight for all our kuleana and all our rights to live and practice our native culture. Every time I look around land is taken away from us. Water is taken away from us. Use of the ocean is taken away from us. Here I stand in Hakipu`u to save all these things not just for me and my family but for all of us.

I have asked for help before and I continue to humbly ask for your help to rally for the aina on the aina. By actually demonstrating what we do best upon the aina, we make a positive stand.

The courts have given us a stay of 6 weeks. During this time I and my family are working hard to build the funds to purchase back our lands - lands that we should have rightfully inherited without any pilikia.

So I ask your kokua once more to help me to raise this land up for the Glory of God. My body is broken and I will need double hip replacement soon. Because of the pain, I have not been able to work the land as hard as I have in the past. Everything I have is worn down, not just me - equipment, tools, even my family.

With your help, we can save the aina, and do good work to demonstrate our culture in action...

- Any day of the week, any time, any number of people.

- To start we huki all taro being overgrown by grass and drowned out by the rains.

- We plant the huli in pots so we don't lose the young shoots to snails and the weather.

- Then we clean up the land, cut and plow down and mulch to prepare it for the potted huli.

Again, any day of the week, any time, any number of people.

Even one person working alongside me and my family will help.

Please get back to me so I can put you in touch with a family member, or set it up myself.

Mahalo to all of you for all that you put out. We have to stick together and work together.

Keoki
