Pii ka ena, pii ke kai

And here I was thinking of posting a blog, being manaka, the monsters, I mean little trolls (in the net sense & literally) have gone away for a lil bit and next thing you know, would be the other to kinda annoy me.I am sick & tired of people going off on people, or even expressing some kind of patronizing way after the other person have given them some type of compliment or in this case expressed gratitude. Basically giving "props."And would be me to blow up at them, but as I've always believed, we all have a part in this world. Guess this is my part, to shake things up a bit after seeming to be the level headed one. But the end result is the same. That other party ends up really thinking about what was done. So I don't feel so bad really, because the lesson, whether that other person or even myself are suppose to learn, has been learned.I mean seriously, if people didn't want any back lash or wanted to self idolize if not self promote in order to make themselves appear to be ano lani (god-like), then don't do it at forums, particularly in a form where everyone knows everyone to a great extent.They're better off starting their own forums a la Amelia Gora or create their own website like the puaakea Ken Conklin. I mean, it IS their own domain/site/puuhonua and can do whatever they want to. Here and other forums, it's the same, you can do whatever you like but just be prepared for all kinds of feedback, not just positive feedback but also negative things, including PERSONAL things in varying degrees.Doesn't help if I personally get annoyed at constant, unique, tag lines that make no sense really. If it's not that, it's someone like (I won't mention name but is responsible for me existing) who complains about not knowing Hawaiian. Huh? Not my problem. Not my problem I learned from a kupuna way back when and she (the person I hinted to in the last parenthesis) didn't have that same opportunity.

It cited an analysis by the Japanese Defense Ministry and intelligence gathered by U.S. reconnaissance satellites.The missile launch could come between July 4 and 8, the paper said.While the newspaper speculated the Taepodong-2 could fly over Japan and toward Hawaii, it said the missile would not be able to hit Hawaii's main islands, which are about 4,500 miles (7,200 kilometers) from the Korean peninsula.A spokesman for the Japanese Defense Ministry declined to comment on the report. The written facts prove otherwise.Between the legalese, fancy play and placement of inspiring words in this bill, if passed by the United States Congress it will have manufactured the illusion Hawaiians are giving consent to the terms in this bill.The "Native Hawaiians" in this bill are subject to the definition in The Hawaiian Homes Act of 1920, Section 201 - any descendant of not less than one-half part of the blood of the races inhabiting the Hawaiian Islands previous to 1778.Aside from the blood quantum language (genocidal), how come the United States government does not legally recognize the years and accomplishments after 1778? For my family and friends who like KNOW:This is about me believing in Hawaiian children, being proud of my nieces who help to represent oiwi in a GREAT way, and how I hope that some people would look at other Hawaiian children and help to teach them to survive. Fortunately there are some GREAT teachers out there who GENUINELY care about Hawaiian children and their abilities including their ability to be able to survive because if they survive... so do our KUPUNA ;) (Stating the obvious as usual LOL)I am so proud of them. I was once asked for an interview and the person asked me WHY. I told him he should ask Hawaiian children how they feel. Do not ask ME LOL And I am serious. WHY ASK ME. They should ask Hawaiian children how THEY feel duh!Well I am proud to have helped to create three lights which include but is not limited to the following... all of whom are my nieces *LOL*My niece Makanamaikalanimai graduated from high school with honors. Here is a pic of her from her high school yearbook with her top two school choices. Both accepted her application for admission:YO!

Mahinaokalani was awarded one of those Presidential Scholars thingies. She received a pin and a certificate from President "Messiah" Obama. It's that award for Academic Excellence:

She is also in the National Junior Honor Society.Same for my other niece Kamehanaokala. She also received a Presidential Scholar pin and certificate for Academic Excellence.Yes... I have been busy. Helping to shape these three. Fortunately they represent Hawaiians in a GREAT way. I have two others to go. Kekaimalu and Kealani. I MUST help create intellectuals with a very high level of community service who do not expect to be recognized for their work. I will see how it goes with Kekaimalu who is FIVE and Kealani who is only what... THREE YEARS OLD LOL Fortunately ever since all of them were little I have spoken to them about complex topics and have spoken to them as though they are adults LOL I think that challenging them worked :)I have always wanted to be a teacher but they don't pay teachers enough to survive. If they paid teachers or rather if they saw the VALUE of teachers then teachers would be paid just as much. Unfortunately they are not but THIS tells me WOW! I think I would have been a GREAT teacher for Hawaiian children to a very high standard of EXCELLENCE. No limits!!! As in I BELIEVE IN THEM and what they can do. However I do try to raise some money on my OWN in order to donate to some teachers whom I think GENUINELY care about oiwi children ;) Well genetics can be significant but my nieces are not genetically "brilliant." I think it has more to do with how they are NURTURED... plus I speak to them as though they ALREADY understand me LOL Unfortunately I will NEVER be a teacher because no offense but they don't pay enough. Fortunately I notice a few GREAT teachers who GENUINELY want their oiwi students to do better than their teacher and who GENUINELY want them to excel and SOAR. Fortunately I am able to help teach my nieces and nephew so that at least THEY can soar in order for them to SURVIVE. It's a pretty good feeling :)I am just amazed at how much I helped to challenge my three nieces. Thus I have been busy not only with work but also with helping to push my nieces and nephew to the edge... of excellence.Anyway Kalani and I were discussing some things. I notice that I basically discuss three main things:1. Keiki2. Kupunaand3. THEIR SurvivalHistory can never be changed. IT IS WHAT IT IS. Same for politics... so is there anything MORE important to talk about/discuss than our keiki, kupuna, and their survival??? Seriously LOL Without the past (i.e. kupuna) we are nothing. Without the present (i.e. keiki) we will be nothing. Enough said but then I notice that some people try so hard to change history. It's futile because oppressors will continue to oppress not only people but a people's history. It is a cycle to infinity. A war that will never be "won." In the end who suffers. Our keiki and our kupuna. Ironic isn't it. Some people try SO hard to save our people by fighting with others' misinterpretation of our history. Meanwhile thousands of Hawaiians fall through the cracks... dying while they basically fight over words instead of fighting for the lives of their people.Latahs!!!

Hawaii - A Voice For Sovereignty

Outstanding news everybody. Hawaii – A Voice for Sovereignty is a documentary film by photojournalist Catherine Bauknight that explores the culture of the Native Hawaiians and their connection to the land. At the forefront of the film are social, economic, and ecological issues that have developed in Hawaii since the takeover by the U.S. in 1893, revealed in interviews with grassroots indigenous people and scholars such as author, Haunani-Kay Trask. Aloha,To follow is President Lincoln's Second Inaugral Address that interestingly he gave in the middle of the Civil War. Imagine heading a great Nation, having that Nation being torn apart by war, then having to give a speech to that country in the middle of it all! The only thing I can imagine of greater difficulty is to surrender a great Nation in an effort to uphold the Rule of Law and preserve the welfare of your subjects as Her Majesty Queen Lilliu'okalani did in 1893.I post this speech as it is appropriate in light of the Lincoln Document being found in Hawai'i recently. But of the greatest impotance is the substance of President Lincoln's speech- "but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!". These are the words of one of the greatest Presidents of the United States (Sic) of America, that the United States (Sic) should seek to understand from a spiritual viewpoint. The London Spectator said of it, "We cannot read it without a renewed conviction that it is the noblest political document known to history, and should have for the nation and the statesmen he left behind him something of a sacred and almost prophetic character."Read this speech, it is really incredible!Aloha Ke Akua,j.Washington, D.C.March 4, 1865At this second appearing to take the oath of the presidential office, there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. Then a statement, somewhat in detail, of a course to be pursued, seemed fitting and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years, during which public declarations have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest which still absorbs the attention, and engrosses the energies of the nation, little that is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends, is as well known to the public as to myself; and it is, I trust, reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future, no prediction in regard to it is ventured.On the occasion corresponding to this four years ago, all thoughts were anxiously directed to an impending civil war. All dreaded it--all sought to avert it. "Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!" If we shall suppose that American Slavery is one of those offences which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through His appointed time, He now wills to remove, and that He gives to both North and South, this terrible war, as the woe due to those by whom the offence came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a Living God always ascribe to Him? Fondly do we hope--fervently do we pray--that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. PREVIEW OF LIFE UNDER THE AKAKA BILLUS Supreme Court Says Tribes Have No Religious RightsFlagstaff, AZ - On Monday, June 8th 2009, the Supreme Court denied the petition by Tribes & Environmental groups to hear a case to protect the holy San Francisco Peaks.For nearly a decade, the Save the Peaks Coalition, Tribes, Environmental groups, and community members led an effort to stop the Snowbowl ski area’s plan to expand it’s development on the Peaks, and make snow from treated sewage effluent.The ski resort operates on the Holy Mountain through a lease by the United States Forest Service, which sanctioned the proposed development in 2004.According to Howard Shanker, attorney for the Navajo Nation, the Havasupai Tribe, the Yavapai-Apache Nation, the White Mountain Apache Tribe, Flagstaff Activist Network, the Center for Biological Diversity and others, and former congressional candidate, “It is unfortunate that the Supreme Court denied our petition for certiorari."The Court’s denial serves to perpetuate injustice and the application of bad law regarding the rights of Native Americans to protect sacred and holy sites.......The Court dismissed Plaintiffs' religious beliefs as calling them mere "damaged spiritual feelings." A Time to Rest and Time to Play!

I had the opportunity to rest and complete my scholarly research. Wow, what a relief to have some time to myself. In the meantime, I had the opportunity to do genealogy research for another 'ohana. It feels good to be able to help others too. I visited the Archives and the Bureau of Conveyances. It has been some time since I last entered those buildings. Today, I went to the Hawaii State Library and found what I was looking for.When I was searching for the inoa, I found my great great grand parents in the 1890 census in Hamakua. I found more of my 'ohana as I searched for other names. Coincidence? No, it reminds of my kuleana of being the care taker of the 'ohana!I am grateful for all that I have and I that I share. Mahalo to Ke Akua and na kupuna. For they are the inspiration of my life that give forth energy to be used for all great things in life!namaka'ehaP.S. Don't forget to pamper yourself. AKAKA BILL OPPOSITION GROWS

By Mark Niesse - Associated Press Writer HONOLULU (AP) — Opposition to a proposed Native Hawaiian government comes from those who fear race-based privileges and Hawaiians who believe it would forfeit their 116-year-old claims to independence.... ...Opponents say its approval would perpetuate wrongs rooted in the 1893 overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy."We're continuing in a situation of occupation, which is promoted by the Akaka Bill supporters," said Kawika Liu, a Hawaiian physician who favors independence."To be a Hawaiian independent nation is not an option with the Akaka Bill. It replicates a colonial mentality."

Chief Tecumseh Brown Eagle of The Erie Indian Moundbuilders Tribal Nation today issued his Tribe's opposition to the proposed Akaka Bill now before the US Congress."Native Hawaiians are not American Indians!To label Native Hawaiians as American Indians flies in the face of historical fact, truth, and the rule of law.It also undermines the inherent right of all to retain their national identity.If the national identity of Native Hawaiians can be wiped away with the stroke of a pen then all people everywhere may face the same fate.......To enact the Akaka Bill would continue this abuse of the US Constitution and support the unconscionable illegal overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai`i in 1893.......I urge everyone to contact their US Senator and oppose this legislation."

Dear Congresspersons,I entreat all Congresspeople to Oppose S.1011/H.R. 2314....There has not been any public hearings on all the islands except on O`ahu since the year 2000 and since then there have been many amendments to the bill.A small elite group of Hawaiian-Americans have input while the rest of the Hawai`i nationals have been shut out of the process. We rebuke the wording of the bill and contents which white-wash the facts.One cannot cull a portion of the Hawaii nationals and relegate them to a tribal indigenous group of the US while ignoring the rest of the Hawaii nationals not of native Hawaiian blood. We want to review the final bill for approval before it goes up for a vote by U.S. Congress.The US expressly recognizes Hawai'i's unique circumstances and is trying to fit it within their system. You must first prove that Hawai'i is legitimately part of the US.Legally and lawfully, the US cannot produce the required treaty of annexation in which to make a claim of ownership nor can they show the consent of the people because of the memorial and Ku`e petitions of 1897 which demonstrates the Hawai`i nationals' disdain for the US dishonorable actions.You are the thief fencing its stolen goods unto itself to make it look legitimate and the wishes of the Hawai`i nationals.What is so difficult to comprehend?
