Tribute to George Helm and Kimo Mitchell

On March 6, 1982, five years after the disappearance of George Helm and Kimo Mitchell in the seas off the island of Kaho'olawe, the Protect Kaho'olawe 'Ohana held a tribute to the two men at 'Iolani Palace in Honolulu.

Representatives from the Helm and Mitchell families along with community members, singers and musicians from Kaua'i, Maui, Moloka'i and Hawai'i island joined their O'ahu compatriots in remembering the legacy of George and Kimo and the actions of many others who worked peaceably to stop the U.S. military bombing of Kaho'olawe.

The Poverty of Philosophy by Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani

Most Māori/Maoli/Maohi people who are struggling to get food, clothes and shelter are so concerned with that, that philosophizing about freedom and socialist democracy is usually unfortunately beyond their rational. They don't realize that the power of the settler government's throughout the world can't exist without first separating us from our identity, because if we had some sense of who we really are, there is no way in hell we would allow any government to push its genocidal consensus on our homelands.This ignorance exists - but it can be destroyed. Māori/Maohi/Maoli talk about change and working within the system to achieve that. The problem with always being a conformist is that when you try to change the system from within its not you who changes the system, but its the system that will eventually change you. There is usually nothing wrong with compromise in a situation, but compromising your self, your culture and your people in any situation is another story completely. Our World is a landscape of Māori/Maohi/Maoli Nations, Iwi and Hapū who’s "nowr-days so called chiefs" are cowards in the face of colonial imperialism. You see our country is abundant in resources, and we have the capacity to eliminate poverty from our society. But plutocracy, another words a government run by the rich such as this one and traditionally oppressive European states, force the third world into buying over priced unnecessary goods while exporting huge portions of our natural resources. I'm quite sure that people will look upon my attitude and sentiments and look for hypocrisy and hatred in my words. But my revolution is born out of love for my people - not hatred for others.You see most Māori/Maohi/Maoli have left their homelands in an exodus for "the better life", and have crossed the Great Ocean of Kiwa to disconnect themselves from the reality of their own cultural oppression, in the īllusion of superiority, elevating themselves in the pecking order of the oppressed. I know I was one of them.Our Indigenous brothers and sisters of Australia, Tāhiti, Kanaky, Fiji, Hawaii and all other pacific nations, and Indigenous nations of the world, as different as we have been taught to look at each other by colonial society we are in the same struggle, and until we realize that, we will be fighting for scraps from the table of a system that has kept us subservient instead of being self determined. As a result we have no control over our lands, nor do we run our own country.So no matter how much you want to dye your hair blonde and put fake eyes in and follow an anorexic standard of beauty; and no matter how many diamonds you buy, and the people who you exploit to get them; no matter what kind of car you drive, or what kind of fancy clothes you put on - you will never be them - they are always going to look at you like nothing but a fucken little monkey. I’d rather be proud of being Māori/Maohi/Maoli rather than desperately trying to be something I'm really not - just to fit in. And whether we want to accept it or not, that's what this culture or lack of culture is feeding us.I want a better life for my family and for my children, but it doesn't have to be at the expense of my own homeland, or any one else s. We are given the idea that if we didn't have people to exploit that this world wouldn't be rich enough to let us have these petty little material things in our lives and basic standards of living but you see here in our country the attitude that is feed to us, is that out there lives lesser people then us and “fuck them” let them fend for them self's, No! fuck you! they are us!It's the business giants and the government officials who make all the real money - we have what ever they decide to kick down to us. My enemy is not the average white man, it's not the white family down the block ,or the kids I see on the street. My enemy is the white-collar criminal I don't see, the business round table, the corporate monopoly owners, fake liberals, and "politicians playing god" - those are my enemies, the Generals of the army's, those are the real “mutha fuckers” that I need to take it too and must be made accountable. Not the poor broke country arse solider that's too stupid to know shit about the way things are set up. In fact I have more in common with most working and middle class white people than I do with most rich Māori/Maohi/Maoli corporates.As much as this country is founded on racism, we also need to understand the real issue is classism. Many of us are in the same boat and it's sinking while these rich “mutha fuckers” ride on a luxury liner, and as long as we keep fighting over kicking people out of the little boat we are all in, we are going to miss the right to get back a better standard of living as a whole. In another words - I have no intention of escaping my homeland. I am here to smash down the walls that keep us in, to free all my people - and hang the “mutha fuckers” that kept me bound there, then burn their house of oppression to the god damn ground. I want to take back these lands and return them to my people who's ancestors blood was spilled to protect these lands .You cannot change the past - but you can make the future, and anyone that tells you different is a fucken lethargic devil. I don't look upon a few token Māori/Maohi/Maoli people in the public sector as some type of achievement for my people as a whole. Most of those so called "successful" individuals are only concerned with acquiring wealth for their own profit, and will happily sell them selves out - and their people to do so. But I don't consider a brother a sell-out if he moves out of the ghetto. Understand this - poverty has nothing to do with our people - it's not in our culture to be poor - that's only been the last 130 years of our history. Remember eternity and our existence as a people and the knowledge we brought to the world in terms of quantum physic's, strategic warfare in world war 1, world world 2 and deep sea navigation. So in conclusion, I'm not going to vote for somebody just because they are Māori/Maoli/Maohi. They have to truly want to fight for what's rightfully ours and fight to free our people. Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani(conscious name) in its highest interpretation is me, it is who I am, it is who we all truly are, it is the sublime nature of “all being” known as source energy (mana) experiencing its self in this physical form. Its intrinsically a Te Tāwera Hapū o Ngāti Awa (The Star of God) worldview integrated with universal intelligence arbitrating the inherent relationship within quantum knowledge as a medium to filter the universal impact on human existence, to the implication and effects of spiritual and political genocide imposed unwillfuly upon our universe and our Hau ō Ra - well being in order that we may not comprehend the esoteric agenda of life its self. It is the vigilance to cultivate consciously spiritual, physical and emotional practices to harvest freedom within the heart, mind, soul and body of a self sustained consciousness. It is the exploration of the last known bastion embedded within the narrative of the human soul, the final frontier "Te Tūāpae Taumārearea" - “consciousness its self” decoratively carved within the ethos of Te Tāwera Hapū o Ngāti Awa's paradigm, meshed together with quantum realities to observe the coherent relationship within the collective.Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani(the core of existence) is the understanding of this relationship on all levels that we might evolve beyond today's self serving environment. It is the sacred indomitable thread of all consciousness “he aho kāwai heke”( the indomitable thread), "Ko Te Awa o Te Atua, he Awanuiārangi - the ancient river of life". It is the true nature of “Te Tāwera Hapū o Ngāti Awa” its origin of being , the harmonics of language, the recitation of genealogy, the retelling of legends and the personification to land. These are the core values at the heart of the indestructible vine of Tāwhaki and Tāne, simulated within Cosmo-genesis connected to the quantum apocalypse of infinite dimensional realms. Maintained deep within its knowing is “one truth” - "te tika" that sits as an observing witness beyond the static fusion of mental noise. It is the resuscitation of cosmic life with “Human Consciousness” defined as “Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani” The pathway of Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani and its relationship to the human dimension, its holographic universe as articulated within its own illusion. Inter grated within its fabric are the “immortal threads” - "ngā ira atua" that traverse the vast oceans of consciousness and human diversity.It is our individual ability to reconnect to Te Pū Motomoto - The Vortex of consciousness and its centrifugal force - "te tapu" the sacredness of all sequential patterning within existence, then calibrating the divine element, the immortal and the indestructible self to the unlimited potential of the universe on a metaphysical, physical, social, political and economical construct. Knowing it is "Io" the great oneness. It serves to nourish our awareness and connection to all that is, to all that will be, to all that has been and to all that is you, thus self sustain life in this dimension and beyond. It is the reseeding tide - "te tai whakariipi" to the nature of whom we truly are in a time of great forgetting. It is self sustainability physically, mentally, emotionally, sexually and spiritual consciousness on all levels. It is the emancipation from the political and spiritual injustice that continues to systematically hold us jailed within its genocidal mentality. It is the hope that we might seek to explore the truth "te tika" of true spiritual and physical empowerment of “divine order ” - "te wairua tapu" held within the sacred “Lore of Tāwhaki Nui ā Hema” (ancient māori lore), the sacred lore of Tānenuiārangi, the sacred lore of Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani the supernatural immortality that lies dormant within the language of our souls waiting to be caressed once again.To be successful within the sacred vine of Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani, Tāwhaki or Tānenuiārangi there needs to be ultimate discipline, infinite patience, divine timing and all knowledge of every situation on all levels, the forth and final requirement is the willingness to make all and every sacrifice when and where its needed. Meaning infinite patience which could mean millions of years. Timing: working in spiritual timing with divination and prophecy. Knowledge of potential obstacles at all levels. Be willing to make all and every sacrifice where and when we need to do it. The only true salvation from any oppression or enslavement can be self empowerment, knowledge, consciousness, this is true rebellion. A true rebellion begins when you quit following and start leading.Tamehana Reone Ngaropo is my birth name. Ka Nāʻo o ka lani -o- Nākoloikalani is my spiritual realization and a conscious knowing that I am one with life its self, that I am a child of Te Tāwera Hapū o Ngāti Awa descend from the immortal vine of Tāwhaki( immortal being). My realization being, that from a golden thread of the great spider Mokotitiatoa can I forge a connection to the quantum dimensions and beyond. This reality has always been my destiny. Children played in the hallways outside of the council chambers waiting for their chance to speak along with their parents. A man standing in the hallway corner sang as he strummed the strings of a guitar.The council, meanwhile, listened to a different tune, one delivered by the seemingly endless convoy of residents who took turns at the microphone to give their two cents on the proposed ban.About 70 residents testified in Hilo, while about 30 testified via teleconference from the council offices in Waimea and Kona. There have been no major complaints about banning genetically modified taro, but with coffee it's a different story.On one side of the debate are those who believe genetic modification of coffee could eventually spell disaster for the island's coffee industry. Off-island buyers would not be interested in Kona coffee that has been purposely or accidentally genetically modified, the proponents believe.Then there are residents who believe, among other things, without genetic modification of coffee, there will be no scientific answers when disease strikes and destroys Big Island coffee.A vast majority of residents who spoke Wednesday said they were in favor of the ban.Dr. Hector Valenzuela, a vegetable crops extension specialist with the University of Hawaii at Manoa, said he -- unlike all of his peers at the college -- supports the bill.He said the scientific community should be concentrating on aspects of agricultural research, such as teaching farmers how to sustain crops without having to rely on chemicals, rather than genetic modification.Bill proponent Chuck Moss, a Kona coffee farmer, said one potentiality of genetically modified coffee is that experiments in creating coffee trees without caffeine could spread to other trees. If that happened, it would be hard to market Kona coffee, he said."How can you tell the difference from a regular tree from a decaf tree, or a regular bean from a decaf bean?" Moss asked.Hamakua Councilman Dominic Yagong furnished results of a poll he conducted recently that shows 82 percent of 89 Big Island coffee farmers support the bill.He said during a separate interview that his office identified isle coffee farmers using the phone book, Internet and personal knowledge.During a previous meeting, representatives of the Hawaii Coffee Council indicated a majority of island coffee farmers are against the bill, Yagong said, which is why he wanted to conduct a poll to find out for sure.Hilo Councilman Stacy Higa, who voted against the bill on its first reading, said Yagong's survey changed his mind.Mayor Harry Kim, who is still not back to work full time because of his recent heart attack, made an appearance early in the meeting and expressed concerns that the bill wouldn't allow genetic testing of coffee in the lab setting.He requested the council consider developing a system where research at places like the University of Hawaii at Hilo would be able to continue.Kim could attempt to veto the bill, but it seems unlikely it would succeed because of the unanimous council vote Wednesday.

Law of Aloha

Around the office there is one thing that is required of us and everything else seems to follow naturally and that is to follow "The Law of Aloha."Of course we're not perfect and sometimes when being firm it is seen as not following "The Law of Aloha."We receive 100+ telephone calls per day with drop ins at least 10 per day while we are working on 50 appointments per month with follow ups to more than 600 past appointments per month. We are booked until April 2010 with appointments rapidly increasing so sometimes people get a little pushy when they want a closer appointment or when their email or telephone call doesn't get returned asap. So sometimes we have to be firm but we always strive to do it with Aloha.This also applies when doing transactions with the currently occupied de facto Bureau of Conveyances a private for profit and plunder corporation formed out of the de facto private for plunder corporation State Of Hawaii.We have 80+ documents per month going through the occupied BOC and because the documents do not mean any gain or profit for the plundering private corporation State Of Hawaii we are given a hard time. Why? Because as Kanaka Maoli (Not Native Hawaiians or native Hawaiians all terms graciously given to us by the private for plunder corporation the de facto United States of America which we so lovingly embrace every day in our terminology thereby giving those very terms they use against us our energy - hmmmm red pill? blue pill?) we have the only lawful rights to claim any lands in the archipelago of Ko Hawaii Pae Aina (If you look on your Palapala Sila Nui or Palapala Hooko it will say "Ko Hawaii Pae Aina" not Kingdom of Hawaii). Because this is so they have to take our paperwork no matter how many times they return it hoping to wear us down and in frustration...quit.Do they know who they are dealing with? I really don't think so. We may all see things differently in many cases but the bottom line is this. Kanaka Maoli have a deep almost ancient Love for one another that they just can't rid us of. That is our power, not money or riches (although we are the richest country in the world with the largest land mass), not dominion over serfs, but that deep ancient Love.That paperwork I'm talking about specifically is the koe nae na kuleana o na Kanaka documents. There are currently 900 individuals and families who have submitted paperwork. As we submit and have our paperwork recorded red flags go up all over the place and whoever is under the illusion that they own our land is in for a shock.If you want to know more about koe nae you can go to this website. As I've posted before Mahealani works closely with several de jure American Nationals of the General Republic of the United States of America consisting of the original 13 colonies. One of them accompanied Mahealani on a trip to the occupied BOC and as he watched Mahealani, Pili, and the BOC employees interact and exchange with each other he started to tear.Now usually, when Mahealani goes to the occupied BOC it's pretty stressful. Out of 80 documents maybe 2 or 3 have to be corrected which ends up being not that bad. What made our friend cry was this. That the BOC employees actually worked with Mahealani and Pili to get the docs through even if they were doing it begrudgingly and only then because they are just doing their job. This is what he told us, in Arizona and Ohio and I'm not so sure about Texas the employees of the BOC don't even talk to you. They just look at the paper and hand it right back to you. They don't even tell you what needs to be corrected. Many of them don't even look at the papers they just throw it right back at you. Hence the tears, kinda tears of joy to see that kind of "Aloha" exists to this day and sadness because it isn't so where he comes from.I have a favorite person that practices "The Law of Aloha" here on Maoliworld and he's also my children's favorite and I think he's everyone's favorite!

I am so Happy! My children have land!!!

I'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee and all of a sudden my throat got clogged and tears welled up in my eyes. I was thinking about my children and how far we've come.I'm a single mother and to say that I've been without struggles would be a complete lie. I've seen my fair of struggles. What compounded those struggles was that I didn't think I'd have anything to leave my children whom I love dearly with all my heart and all my soul. I would die for them if I had to. Still I continued with my daily existence to give them what I could, not materially for we are poor, but I vowed to at least give them spiritually, emotionally, build their self esteem, pray, be thankful for what we do have, a roof over our head (a pretty decent house with a big yard), food, car, money enough for gas and pay the electric bill. I try to fill them with creativity as an outlet and they are creative. And now I've found Maoliworld and my children are on here and although they have their crazy fun with people their age they also seek out the wisdom of Kupuna here on Maoliworld which is something I encourage them to do. This place is a wealth of wisdom and I'm just amazed!Still there was a heaviness in my heart for I knew that someday, at the rate land was being gobbled up for rich developers and money hungry mongrels, to even have a hope for land and a house they could call their own, they would have to move to Las Vegas or Iowa or somewhere thereabouts just to have a house. So many Kanaka are moving off island for that reason and it was very, very discouraging. We Love the island life, we don't want to move.I moved my family here from Guam (a place that I Love very much!) because when free land was being given (well you had to pay $50.00) I couldn't qualify because I didn't have Chamorro blood. I didn't get upset or anything but I was a little down because I wanted the land for my daughter. Because I grew up on Guam I didn't really know the extent of the land grabbing being done by the developers and profiteers. I believed that because I was Hawaiian (I know now that I'm Kanaka Maoli) I could get land here in Hawaii (Ko Hawaii Pae Aina). I was sadly mistaken, well not really, I could get land, for 1/2 million dollars. There was always DHHL which in my heart I didn't believe in because it was only for 50%er's and there was extensive research that needed to be done. I began the process of researching so I could apply all the while knowing that the house would be left to 3 of my children but I remained thankful that I had at least that. Now I know it was and is crumbs the de facto throws our way to appease "the natives" (natives = small "n" stands for 50%er's) just like they'll take a Kanaka family to court, the Kanaka family has all their deeds, lawful deeds and Palapala Sila Nui, Palapala Hooko but the foreigner will "win" in court* but to appease the family will take, if the family had 11acres, 7 of their acres and "give" 3 acres to the Kanaka family. B.S. and bola bola! I'm talking about land in Lanai that my ggg grandfather held a Royal Patent Grant (private kuleana) on. I'm in the process of completing my documents and will move forward to give notice to the current occupiers of my family's ownership of the land. There's is also 99 acres from my maternal ggg grandfather which is also on Lanai.Now comes the time when my silent prayers are met. Here is where I meet the person who, after exhaustive teachings, finally gets me to realize what "koe nae na kuleana o na Kanaka" is. Once I realize what it is I grab it and run with it. Now my children have 2 acres in Honualua (I've included a picture of a map) and 5 acres in Molokai. Will they ever go to Molokai? I doubt it. But hey, we don't do it just to pass land down to our children and future generations, we do it to assist in keeping the development out!The most recent victory is the Hokulia development in Hawaii. The developers have done gone bankrupt. They cannot get insurance when the title to the land is filled with red flags (palapala koe nae submitted to the currently occupied Bureau of Conveyances). If they cannot get insurance they cannot get the financial backing they need to develop from potential investor's. This is also what happened on Molokai and Hale Mua in Wailuku (even the attorney's went bankrupt).So, now comes the part that upsets me. The rumor(s) that people (Kanaka) who are taking part in koe nae are taking all the land. What? There are 440,000 Kanaka Maoli counted in the world, there is millions of acres of land in Ko Hawaii Pae Aina, how can we be taking all the land? That's not logical.This is the second time I've heard of something that threatens to take the land away from children, and their children, and their children, land that cannot be sold but can be handed down for generations to come. This is the second time I've heard of someone trying to down grade koe nae and by doing that they perpetuae the development of our lands, the use of our water, and all kinds of activity that is not beneficial to Kanaka and their children. Why would you do that? Why would you try to do something that would stop the progress of something so positive, the most positive action I've ever seen here in Ko Hawaii Pae Aina? Why would someone say it is illegal? It is part of the He Kumu Kanawai, the Constitution set forth by King Kamehameha III that if not for him we probably really would have nothing, no lawful rights, aliens in our own land. Why would you come to one of our classes and stand outside passing out fliers to your meetings and telling people who are attending the class that what is being taught inside is illegal? Why?That's all I want to know is why? And part of my tears this morning is because I hurt when I know that people, whether consciously or unconsciously are hurting my children. You are hurting them by trying to take their land away and I equate that action with the action of rich developers and profiteers. What is your profit? And how will my children pay for it?

Are the Hawaii Nationals united?

The answer to the question is yes. What is not told is that the various sovereignty/ National groups are like the various political parties within the USA. Each have their own agenda and platform yet they recognize themselves as citizens of their country. This is ongoing here in Hawaii as well.We know that the Hawaiian Kingdom still exists albeit under the unlawful belligerent occupation of the United States of America. Everyone wants to restart the Hawaiian Kingdom. This is good! The ipso facto State and the ipso facto Federal Government are afraid that we will. Thus, through the corporate medias and the seditous school systems, they have constantly belittled the Hawaii Nationals and obfuscate the issues and facts hoping we wouldn't wise up.Let's look at the pertinent facts:* The Kingdom of Hawaii was created by King Kamehameha and stylized to conform with the international related countries.* Kamehameha, Ka'ahumanu, and Vancouver became fast friends whereby the king pick the brains of the Englishman who was a great help in setting the king's course toward international recognition.* Armed with the knowledge Ka'ahumanu gained through this liason with Vancouver, after the King died and the missionaries arrived, she had done a coup d'etat to then become Kuhina Nui. She chose to use the missionaries and chiefs for her own agenda and continue to put the islands on par with the other known countries.* Kauikeaouli was counselled by the Queens who swayed the power of the Kingdom to keep it toward its goal. He, after his brother's reign, took charge of the Kingdom. He and his chiefs commissioned William Richards to instruct them according to the Wayland's book, Elements of Political Economy.* Hawaiians were quick learners and utlized their new-found knowledge on how to deal with foreign countries and develop theirs to conform with the powers of the world. In doing so, the King chose to reform his national government and give up his absolute rule to a constitutional monarchy.* In 1839 the Hawaiian Magna Carta was created and a constitution was promulgated. Treaties with other countries were ratified and subject to the supreme law of the land.* The French and the British signed a proclamation of recognizing the Independence of the Hawaiian Kingdom as a nation-state and it was the move to join the Family of Nations. The US followed suit and recognized the nation-state of Hawaii. Through the efforts of Hawaii's subsequent monarchs, over 25 treaties with countries around the world were secured and by 1893, there were over 96 consuls and legations throughout the world.* Kalakaua, succeeded in securing relations with countries around the world and the Kingdom became the richest per capita globally as well as one of the most modern. Hawaii actively participated internationally as part of the Family of Nations, predessessor of the League of Nations which evolved to the United Nations. Hawaii's status of neutrality was also recognized as that of Switzerland.* The USA was trying to find a way to control Hawaii or takeover the islands with the people voluntarily wanting to join it since 1826. Because of the fast actions of the King; the USA could not take it without the people's consent or it would set a precedent violating international laws. The covert actions of the USA began to spin.* US President Harrison and Secy of State James Blaine colluded with Lorrin Thurston to destabilze the Hawaiian Kingdom and conspired to have John L. Stevens to assist by creating a fake revolution without setting an international precedent. In 1887 the US Americans under Thurston and his cohorts staged a coupe, the first overt action to wrest the kingdom from the King and forced him to sign the Bayonet Constitution. It was done between the years that legislation was not in session. Thus, it was never ratified but implied.* Only Stevens and his troops and the Committee of Safety was aware of what was transpiring. On the steps of a government building, the proclamation was read under the protection of the US troops and immediately Stevens recognized the Committee of Safety's Provisional Government as the lawful government. They had never had control of the police station, government buildings, palace, and barracks. The troops remained to protect and secure the US puppet government.* The Queen surrendered to the USA rather than to those scurrilous US American complicitous traitors; with hopes that upon learning the truth, the USA would restore her to her throne and reinstate her government.*The Ku'e Petions were signed by over 96% of the multi-ethnic Hawaii Nationals in 1897; all loyal to the Queen and her government in protest of the invasion and against annexation. Annexation attempt twice failed in the US. Spanish-American war began and Mckinley opted for the Newlands Resolution to annex hawaii.* So we have the "bible-plow-rifle" in which the US gained control of Hawaii. A resolution is a domestic law which has no juridiction within another country. There was no treaty of annexation; hence, the annexation is illegal, null and void.* The US belligerent occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom is ongoing till today. The US has violated the laws of occupation and disregards Hawaii's neutrality. The Statehood act is another process greatly flawed and deemed null and void. The impropriety in the process is there was no international observance to validate the process; US Americans could vote; the question was to remain a territory or become a state and omitted the other choices. Only 22% of eligible voters cast their ballot and 94% of them voted for statehood.To summarize, the descendants of the original Hawaii Nationals are still Hawaii Nationals and the Hawaiian Kingdom still exists. The only logical consequence is total independence and the USA must de-occupy our country. OHA, an agency of the ipso facto State which is a part of the USA, is trying to comply and promote the Akaka Bill using the Kau Inoa census to support it. In the meantime, this US entity, wants to create a US puppet governing tribal entity to fit into the US system to appear as a nation within a nation by usurping the authority and jurisdiction of the existing Hawaiian Kingdom. History is repeating itself in the neo-provisional government OHA intends to establish and call it a restoration of which it isn't.
