'Awa, kalo, and mamaki

For my ohana and hoaaloha who like know :)

I have been busy. Work and in the earth LOL

Pics of my latest. I have 6 varieties of kalo. I am also starting the Kalo Project. One of my goals is to get huli to more Hawaiians. Every Hawaiian should have kalo. Just saying LOL

All organic. No toxic pesticides. The only things I use are dishwashing detergent mixed with water and Neem oil which are non-toxic not just to me but to the aina LOL

Kalo in da house! I have 6 varieties so far. I plan to replant them in a dry taro patch in my yard. Gotta make sure they survive first LOL












Mamaki!



More pics... container gardens. I have lettuce, chives, green onions, and oregano. A portion of my crops LOL:






Raised vegetable beds. I have five of them. Adding more! I have tomatoes, baby bok choy, peas, beans, collard greens, long eggplants, green bell peppers, lettuce, and much more.

Aloha Luella Leonardi aka KaohiI have these questions needing to be answered by you. Can you answer them?I would like to know what is your understanding of the Crown and Government Lands?Also, what did you mean in your last message about my mention of Jon J. Chinen's book? Did you know him?What did you mean by, "she's (me) using the parking lot...?" Please share you mana'oi'o because as you know I have will forever, until our government is restored to stand with my ancestors as na kanaka maoli and reject the American garbage they teach...He Hawai'i Au. I've been involved since I was 20 years old and learned alot on my journeys and want to share them with the younger and older generations, as we get older I realize that this is my kuleana and should be for all who are in this movement towards restoration of our government.The things I learned that really bothers me is that alot of our people with the koko have to get over their prejudices that have been learned by the white man who came to Hawai'i, have polluted many of our people and it sounds like you have been affected by the white man's disease when I read your responses to my blogs. Do you see that? I do and that sort of bothers me, but that can be overcome with a large dose of "facing the truth" and to oki all the "bad" thoughts, learned ways and prejudices that have been instilled in our people by the foreigners who bring their pollution to our islands.As I said in my previous writings, "when our people are ready they will unite and take seriously their roles in the restoration of our government" until then, we will lose many of them along the way. I don't want to lose you in this transition of mind, body and soul. Granted I don't have a "degree" but what I learned I am willing to share and lot of what I learned comes to me by the spirits of my ancestors and people in the living as well as those who have passed on in the last 40 years.Overall, life is good as long as we are willing to share them and do it with truth and aloha.Onipa'a,Kawehi

Cultural Genocide

This one is far from done. I think this one will be a lifelong writing project.I was inspired to write this by listening to the song "Blood Banner" by Public Property. I find it shocking how most people find it shocking that im a 19 yr. old male living in the 21st century but yet my life is commited to Hawai'i, even if it means my death for my land.No ku'u lahui Hawai'i, e ha'awi pau, a e ola mau.Palm trees and calm seasTropical fruity drinks while basking in the oceans breezeSexy hula dancers, fire lit torches and sacred kahuna tiki'sIts paradise so drink up, smoke up, buy up...do as you please.Exploitation at its finest.Hawai'i is a vacation to you but it means more than life to meA life style, state of mind and mentalityCulture is the true essence of Hawai'i.A culture,Built beneath the foundation of our landBuilt beneath the bottom of our oceanBuilt within our na'au and birthed from the darkest of dark.It's shown through the land and oceanShown through the plants and animalsAnd lastly, shown through the people.Slaughter our culture, impose us with yoursSlaughter our people, corrupt us like yoursSlaughter our lands, build it like yoursSlaughter our waters, pollute it like yoursSlaughter our language, make us learn yoursSlaughter our values, replace it with yoursSlaughter our gods, in the name of yoursSlaughter our queen, and pretend that we're yoursSlaughter our flag, shame our poles with yoursGenocide.
