"Where is Your King ??"

9334364870?profile=originalRoyalists !  Often at 'Iolani  I  hear like whisperings from the Palace.
One afternoon Coach John Madden crossed my mind.  "He has one good hit left in him."

In the studio talking with veteran football players,  Coach John Madden from the Oakland Raiders would assess the physical condition of a retired champion player as well as the spirit of the gridiron hero with "Oh yeah.  He looks like he still has one good hit left in him !"  Meaning that  if we suited up this old timer in his pads and all,  the old timer would probably be able to throw one last Super Bowl type "hit" on his man.

Gazing on 'Iolani Palace one thinks mainly about DEFENSE.  They asked Kamehameha the Great "Offense or Defense ??"  "Defense !" was His answer.  At 'Iolani Palace the Hawaiians played mainly Defense.  At the other Palaces across the Kingdom they played mostly Defense as well.

I  thought about Kings and Queens of Hawai'i.  I  remembered my tour of the Bishop Museum.  Their descendants today look over their genealogies from time to time.  Some descendants are born into filthy rich Hawaiian families; some in a tent in Makaha.  It's impossible to tell which keiki might be destined to the Throne at 'Iolani Palace.  That's the way the world works !  So the thought crossed my mind as  I  glanced at that Palace: "Maybe the Hawaiians still have one good King left in 'em !"

Who can doubt that the stage is here ?  What a beautiful Palace.

The immune systems of Hawaiians seem better now.  That's for sure !  But just like an oldtimer from the gridiron,  you have to worry about that last hit being fatal.  Who would venture to say definitely "The Hawaiians still have one good King left in them."  ?  Or "There's a chance that the Hawaiians still have one good King left in 'em."  But then  I  looked at all the big buildings standing around 'Iolani Palace.  They weren't here before time.  The Kings and Queens did not see these buildings when they looked out the Palace windows.  If there is one good King still left in the Hawaiians,  it looks like He will still be playing Defense.  I  guess one would look into the eyes of a child as well as study the way he walks and try to find the signs that the kid would be good on Defense.  If the kid looks like a good quarterback,  forget it !

Aloha kakou.

Since taking Office the foreign born U.S. President has appropriately enjoyed foreign holidays in the Nation of Hawai'i to the tune of over $40 million:

The same journal has an open letter addressed to U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts on Obama's failure to meet the "natural born" citizenship requirement per the U.S. Constitution:

When the Hawaiian Kingdom deposited its Instrument of Accession with the United Nations Secretary-General on December 10, 2012 in New York City, the International Criminal Court (ICC) will possess jurisdiction over Hawaiian territory beginning on March 4, 2013. According to Article 126 of the Rome Statute, the ICC will have jurisdiction “on the first day of the month after the 60th day following the date of the deposit of the…instrument of…accession.”

The ICC prosecutes individuals and not states for war crimes committed within occupied territories. Only states can accede to the jurisdiction of the ICC, and that Hawai‘i achieved the international recognition of its statehood on November 28, 1843 by joint proclamation of Great Britain and France and entered into extensive diplomatic relations and treaties with other states.

The justification for the accession was based on two points: first, the acting government is not able to enforce and prosecute individuals for violating Hawaiian law and the law of occupation taking place within Hawaiian territory; and second, the U.S. Pacific Command has refused to hold to account individuals for committing war crimes that have been reported since July 6, 2012.

ISN'T HAWAI`I PART OF THE U.S.?

Hawai`i is not a part of the United States.

The truth is the current government, the “state of Hawai`i,” is a corporate construct of the United States that resulted from a series of unlawful acts stemming from the 1893 unlawful takeover of the recognized, peaceful, civil government of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

The government of the United States has twice officially acknowledged (in 1893 and again in 1993) that its participation in the takeover of a friendly, neutral nation was an unprovoked unlawful act of aggression.

Suppose someone stole your car, forged documents and sold it to someone else. Does that new “owner” own the car? Suppose the new “owner” gave it to someone else. Does that new “owner” own the car?

Now suppose the original thief confesses to the crime of how he unlawfully obtained (stole) the car. Who owns the car now? Is it the person most recently in possession of the car, or you, the person from whom it was initially stolen?

Of course, according to common sense and common law, the answer is - you. Since you never gave your consent, the title of the car never lawfully changed hands to anyone else.

You are still the lawful owner.

I do hope the people in Hawaii observed today's La Ho'omana'o or Memorial Day.  My family observed it with a candlelight dinner and recalling our loved ones who have gone before us and also of Nahi'ena'ena and those who made a difference in the lives of the Kanaka maoli in the past and others whom we admire and love.  I h0pe you stop and reflect on this Memorial Day and share this time with family and friends.

"Back On The List - A Visit With Leon Siu"

For awhile, Hawai`i was right where it belonged - on a United Nations list of forcibly colonized nations. But in 1959 the US claimed Hawai`i was now the 50th state and Hawai`i was dropped from that list. After over half a century a move is now afoot to relist Hawai`i as an illegally occupied country. Hawaiian Kingdom Foreign Minister Leon Siu gives us an update on this effort and reveals some surprising new details not only about how it can happen but which other countries actually support it. - Watch It Here

"Na Kama Kai - A Visit With Duane DeSoto"

2010 World Longboard Champion Duane DeSoto wanted to help repair a broken relationship - the one between people and Hawai`iʻs land and ocean. While the importance was well understood and appreciated in ancient times, todayʻs western values caused the loss of this vital connection. So Duane and his wife co-founded Na Kama Kai, which reconnects Hawai`iʻs most precious resources - itʻs youth with both the land and sea. Join us in our visit with Duane at Queenʻs beach in Waikīkī and youʻll see how Na Kama Kai is once again teaching Hawai`iʻs children that which had long been forgotten - Watch It Here

The Ali'i Nui Roll

9334365468?profile=original

John Waihe'e,  might  I  suggest that,  in order to get more Hawaiians to sign up, you folks make an Ali'i Nui Roll besides.

"The Roll" as it stands now has a maka'ainana face.
From the three corners of The Polynesian Triangle a single Roll is extremely un- attractive.  Although Christianity unifies Polynesians and levels them at the feet of Sweet Jesus,  the notion persists that there is a noble class.  If there is but one "Roll",  it necessarily must be the commoner Roll.
A maka' ainana feels uncomfortable seeing her name amongst Ali'i Nui names.  This is discouraging.

Likewise, a noble person or Royal person is uncomfortable seeing their name on a list with maka'ainana.  Both an Ali'i Nui Roll and a Maka'ainana Roll would be a lot more suitable.

Are Kanaka Maoli, those of Hawaiian blood, getting a fair shake under the illegal US occupation of Hawai`i? Statistics show that 40% of all prisoners in Hawai`i are Native Hawaiians.

A blind-folded lady is the symbol of justice in the US, but a study by a non-profit group shows that justice is not blind towards Native Hawaiians.

A study by the justice policy institute in Washington DC suggests that Native Hawaiians are more likely to be sent to prison and for longer periods of time than other ethnic communities.

The study also found that Native Hawaiians don't use drugs more than other races, but go to prison more for drug offenses.

According to the report, half of people serving prison terms in Hawai`i are housed in mainland facilities. Statistics show broken families, isolated by incarceration, often perpetuate the cycle.

In Hawai`i, 50 percent of youth in juvenile facilities are Native Hawaiian.

The number of Native Hawaiians in the women's correctional facility is as high as 85%.

HAS THE US TAKEOVER OF HAWAI`I BEEN A SUCCESS?

Western diseases, to which Hawaiians had no immunity, decimated their numbers. At the time of western contact, well over 500,000 people inhabited the Hawaiian Islands.

By 1805 that number had been more than halved.

By 1853 there were only 71,000 Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian people in the islands.

Within 100 years of western contact, the Hawaiian population had been reduced by nearly 90 percent.

According to the 2000 census, the numbers of people who claim some native Hawaiian ancestry have increased to over 400,000. But only 239,000 live in Hawai`i and they are the poorest, most locked-up population in the state.

Although they only make up about 20 percent of the state's population, in June 2001 they made up 39 percent of the state's prison population, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

Sadly, today they make up 37 percent of the state's homeless population.

He mo'olelo li'i'li.

Aloha kakou.

On this date back in 1875 H.R.H. Princess Ka'iulani was christened at St. Andrews Cathedral her inspiring life story is maybe worth recounting to keiki at this seasonal time:

Considering the P.L.D.C. who recalls the Leo Tolstoy tale "How Much Land Does a Man Need?" It tells the story of a wealthy peasant named Pahom (Locally in contemporary times he would perhaps be known as Claus Spreckles) who learns of the verdant fertile 'aina beyond the Volga. When Pahom arrives he meets the resident maka'ainana called the Bashkirs who tell him for a thousand roubles he can have as much land as he can walk around in a day. Pahom's greed is his ultimate downfall as in his haste he dies of exertion where he is therein buried, in Tolstoy's land rendition "Six feet from his head to his feet was all he needed." Here is a synopsis if you are interested:

In conclusion many thanks to Dr. Keanu Sai in his Instrument of Accession and Protest of Demand forwarded to the U.N. on behalf of Hawaiian Nationals, mahalo nui loa to all who strived on behalf of the Hawaiian Nation throughout the year. Let us recall Hawaiian Kingdom patriot Pomai Kinney whose first anniversary occurred this 2012, and the words of Kenneth O'Keeffee "If the World does turn for the better Hawai'i will be a key link in the chain of peace. Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings to you and your 'ohana. Aloha.
