We are United

I'm watching the video I just uploaded and one of the callers said something that just hit me because it's the truth:this is in regards to the discussion on GMO's which also relates to massive developments in ko Hawaii Pae Aina in that they use our land, land that they do not own, to make a profit, for just a few. That is not the Kanaka Maoli way. This is what he said, an excerpt:"they're afraid of us uniting."Too late, we already are united, we've always been united, and that is why they will never have clear title to our land and our resources in ko Hawaii Pae Aina.

US Claims Newlands Resolution Has Force Of Law, Yet Apology Resolution Does Not"The Newlands Resolution (how the US acquired Hawai`i) and the Apology Resolution (US Public Law 103-150) are the same type of instrument. If they recognized the Newlands resolution, then they have to recognize the Apology Resolution, in which the US acknowledges its guilt. One undoes the other - which means the US is belligerently occupying the Hawaiian Kingdom. The State of Hawai`i is null and void and an illegal entity. As a few US senators stated concerns, the only logical consequence of the apology bill is total independence. They are very correct in their summation of the bill. How it is resolved is a matter of interpretation on whether the thief wants to keep its stolen property criminally gotten and not return it to the rightful owners....The state of Hawai`i is not the legitimate government and cannot dispense with our national lands. INDEX - SOVEREIGNTY

A Letter for Governor Lingle

by Mark Jeffers onon 26 November 2008

Governor Lingle needs to re-think her decision to sell our land for the simple reason that she does not own the land she intends to sell. As our elected official she is in authority to hold the land in trust for our future generations, period.

The idea that the State of Hawaii owns land to be sold is neither true nor just.
When native lands are recognized for their value it has been the policy of the US Government to find ways to relocate and even sterilize the Natives who live on those lands. The useless treaties and failed programs are hundreds of years in the making.

Why should Hawaiians still suffer the results of those actions done by those Americans who commandeered the lands of Hawaii? Especially because they are still trying for the sovereignty by law that was once their by right. If we consider that the Hawaiian culture has been oppressed continually from the start of the occupation of the American government, it becomes difficult to try to talk about justice in terms of land use.

Hawaiians say they do not derive their sovereignty from this government. They shouldn’t have to; they don’t want to. In the United Nations Charter it says nobody shall be made a citizen against their own will.

Because there are not enough Hawaiians to defend themselves, they are not very strong when facing our absolute majority, and that’s really unfair.

Governor Lingle, We should not sell our host culture's land and you should work harder to bring about the fair and just use of those lands for the benefit of our Hawaiian people now and for the times ahead.

Hundreds Show Up To Protest - Only Hawaiian Kingdom Patriots Nail The TruthAbout 300 people converged on the state Capitol yesterday and urged the Lingle administration to back off its legal claim that the state has the right to sell ceded lands. In a case that supposedly places the state against the state Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Gov. Linda Lingle and her administration are appealing a unanimous ruling by the Hawai`i Supreme Court in January that the state cannot sell or otherwise transfer ceded lands until Native Hawaiian claims against the land holds were resolved.Yet only a handful of protestors actually described the issue accurately."These are stolen lands, we're clear on that," Native Hawaiian practitioner Andre Perez said to the crowd. "I want my land back. I want my country back."

i was in awe and amazed.. when i came upon a story i heard.. on the news and newpaper... whether it is fact or opinions of the editor or person or persons who is telling the story... about a woman who is appealing her court case because she is a native hawaiian.. kanaka maoli. what ever the case is about i have my opinions but to hear and see for my own eyes.. what we as hawaiians will resort to...TO NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR..OWN ACTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. i am not questioning the case.. or the reason it is being done...but the amazement of how the kanaka maoli in this case thought they are not ruled by the law of the land... UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. then whose rules do the native hawaiians follow today... go by and who is in charge...there was this saying my mother used to say alot..when she came home from trying to hooponopono hawaiian groups or organizations....she said.. babygirl...there are just way too many CHIEFS.. then INDIANS!TOO MANY PPL WHO WANT TO LEAD AND YET DONT KNOW HOW... she used to say that alot..that is the dilemma, that is what confuse me as a hawaiian individual ...if we are not governed by the United States of America then whose laws are we following now??? as a KANAKA MAOLI.... ???i do not agree with what happened.. ppl will be judged by the big man upstairs...for their actions as an individual. Native hawaiian or non native hawaiian we all will be judged by the almighty man himself.. But the law of the land is what we ALL IS governed by...yes ppl will have issues with this statement but as i said ....our keiki o ka aina .. is our future leaders who will decide what happens to us as we get old and so to see things like this being done.. it is very confusing.. to see and understand what does it really mean to be..NATIVE HAWAIIAN... WHAT IS EXACTLY A NATIVE HAWAIIAN.. PURE HAWAIIAN... there is not many in this time and era.How do they determine what is right and wrong.. but thru our actions today.. what we decide to do today will determine our future.it bothered me for several days... how we as kanaka maolis call ourselves... will be looked upon in the present and future ...if we think being native hawaiians gives us special privilegs...it does not...if we mess up.. amend it and fix it and move on.. cus our future leaders are watching us.. how we as kanaka maolis of today .. act.thank you for reading.. this blog may not make sense... cus i am not judging this kanaka maoli.... but how we as the kanaka maoli of today will be looked upon tomorrow. and to our future kanaka maoli.. aloha no e malama pono a hui hou kakou.,.. mapuana

To accomplish this, he appointed Timoteo Ha'alilio, William Richards and Sir George Simpson, a British subject, as joint ministers plenipotentiary on April 8, 1842. Shortly thereafter, Simpson left for England, via Alaska and Siberia, while Ha'alilio and Richards departed for the United States, via Mexico, on July 8, 1842.After Ha'alilio and Richards secured President John Tyler's assurance of recognizing Hawaiian independence on Dec. 19, 1842, the delegation proceeded to meet Simpson in Europe. On March 17, 1843, King Louis-Philippe assures them of France's recognition of Hawaiian independence, and on April 1, 1843, Lord Aberdeen, on behalf of Queen Victoria, assured the Hawaiian delegation that "Her Majesty's Government was willing and had determined to recognize the independence of the Sandwich Islands under their present sovereign." Confirming these assurances, Great Britain and France formally recognized Hawaiian sovereignty on Nov. 28, 1843, by joint proclamation at the Court of London, and the United States followed on July 6, 1844, by letter of Secretary of State J.C. Calhoun. Nov. 28 was a national holiday celebrating Hawaiian Independence, La Ku'oko'a.On May 16, 1854, Kamehameha III proclaimed the Hawaiian Kingdom to be a neutral State, and it was expressly stated in treaties with Sweden-Norway in 1852 and Spain in 1863. As an internationally recognized sovereign and neutral state, the Hawaiian Kingdom joined the Universal Postal Union on Jan. 1, 1882, (today an agency of the United Nations) maintained more than 90 legations (embassies) and consulates throughout the world, and entered into extensive diplomatic and treaty relations with Austria-Hungary, Belgium, Bremen, Chili, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Guatemala, Hamburg, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Samoa, Spain, Sweden-Norway, Switzerland, the United States and Uruguay. The year 1893 was to have been a festive year celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian independence. Instead, it was a year that the United States began to systematically violate Hawaiian sovereignty that resulted in the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian government and the prolonged occupation of the country since the Spanish-American War. Nevertheless, Nov. 28 was and still remains a national holiday.Keanu Sai is completing his Ph.D. in political science at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, specializing in Public Law and International Relations. His dissertation is titled The American Occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom: Beginning the Transition from Occupied to Restored State.LaKuokoa.jpg

Signs of Lono in the heavens...

Here is an oli dedicated to Lono, presented during the Makahiki. My favorite line in this one is "Amoamo ke akua laau nui o Lono!" (Resplendent is the great wooden image of Lono!) As we see in the image below, when the great staff of Lono was up, the people are prepared for wildness and games of skill and strength.[Kahuna:]Ou kino e Lono i ka laniHe ao loa, he ao pokoHe ao kiei, he ao haloHe ao ho'opua i ka laniMai Uliuli, mai MelemeleMai Polapola, mai Ha'eha'eMai 'Oma'oku'ululuMai ka 'aina o LonoI hanau mai ai.'Oi ho'oku'i aku o LonoKa hoku e miha i ka laniAmoamo ke akua la'au nui o LonoKu'iku'i papa ka lua mai KahikiHapaina, kuka'a i ka hau miki no LonoE ku i ka malo 'ahiu![People:]Hiu![Kahuna:] [People:]'O Lono Ke akua la'au[Kahuna:] [People:]Aulu! In the Kingdom of Hawai`i November 28 was an official holiday called Ka La Ku`oko`a, or Independence Day. This was the day in 1843 when England and France formally recognized Hawai`i's independence. His Hawaiian Majesty King Kamehameha III deemed it prudent and necessary to dispatch a Hawaiian delegation to the United States and then to Europe with the power to negotiate treaties and to ultimately secure the recognition of Hawaiian Independence by the major powers of the world. The Hawaiian delegation, while in the United States of America, secured the assurance of U.S. President Tyler on December 19, 1842 of its recognition of Hawaiian independence, and then proceeded to meet Sir George Simpson in Europe and secure formal recognition by Great Britain and France. As a result of this recognition, the Hawaiian Kingdom entered into treaties with the major nations of the world and had established over ninety legations and consulates in multiple seaports and cities.November 28 was thereafter established as an official national holiday to celebrate the recognition of Hawai`i's independence. But in 1893, an illegal intervention into Hawai`i's affairs by the U.S. resulted in a "fake revolution" against the legitimate Hawaiian government, and a puppet oligarchy set itself up with its main purpose being Hawai`i's annexation to the United States. Hawaiians protested and celebrated Ka La Ku`oko`a anyway, telling the story of the national heroes who had traveled to Europe to secure Hawai`i's recognition. We celebrate Ka La Ku`oko`a - Hawaiian Independence Day to remember that Hawai`i was a fully recognized member of the world family of nations, and its independence is still intact under prolonged illegal occupation.

The truth about Thanksgiving! Some more history.

The truth about Thanksgiving! Some more historyThis Sickness "Racist Manifest Destiny" = NEW WORLD ORDER has done this to more than Just America, Over 860 US MILITARY BASES ARE DOING THE SAME IN OTHER NATIONS & COUNTRIES AROUND OUR PLANETThanksgiving: A Native American View

The people who now describe themselves as ..Americans' actually stole their country from the Native Americans. They put the Indians in reservations (which got smaller and smaller). The Indians were civilised and spiritual but they had no guns and were an easy target. America was stolen by force.

At a meeting in New England in 1640 the following motions were put to the assembly.

1. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.

2. The Lord may give the earth or any part of it to his chosen people.

3. We are his chosen people.

Naturally the assembled bunch of smug, barbarians voted ..yes' to all these motions, and thereby sanctified (in their minds) the theft of a nation.

It was generally agreed that the Indians were savages with no rights and yet both the American constitution and the Declaration of Independence were based on texts devised and used by Native American Indians - texts which included fundamental ideas on liberty, freedom and even legislature.

The American Government signed 370 treaties with the Native Indians but violated provisions in every one of these treaties.

The Americans now celebrate the theft of the country they call their own with a feast called Thanksgiving.

With all that said...

Happy - Pilgrims Massacre Native Americans and Pretend the Land Was Given to Them as a Gesture of Good Faith During the Course of a Festive Feast - Day!

In other words... Happy Thanksgiving!

Summer of 2007, I was called upon the chairperson of the NKCDP steering committee to speak my mana'o of my concerns to the project noting there was no koko on the board. Then months later, Mike Gomes of Chalon International aka: Surety Kohala resigned and Mike Isaacs of the North Kohala Community Preservation Group was the replacement. -YOUTH SPEAKS HAWAII

Founded in 2005, Youth Speaks Hawaii is the local chapter of the nation's leading nonprofit presenter of spoken word performance poetry, education, and youth development programs. At Youth Speaks Hawaii young writers 13 to 19 years old are speaking their own messages through the powerful medium of spoken word slam* poetry to many of their urban and suburban peers.

We, at Youth Speaks Hawaii are absolutely committed to providing youth with as many opportunities as possible to develop and publicly present their voices in a variety of media from live performances and theater, to videos, books, cd's, television & the internet.

At Youth Speaks Hawaii, the voices of youth matter. Politically aware, critically engaged, and unafraid to speak, youth are moving themselves into positions of power - claiming voice when they've been voiceless, and access where they've been sidelined.
