To:  U.S. Congress, Hawaii City Concil, Honolulu City Concil, City & County of Honolulu, State of Hawai'i, Office of the City Auditor, Kawaiaha'o Church kahu, USA, Japan, Hawai'i residents

SAVE KAWAIAHA'O CHURCHYARD:

Located in the heart of Honolulu, Hawai'i; Kawaiaha'o Church was built in 1836 - 1842.
The foundation of the Kawaiaha'o Church is made from around 14,000 lbs. of offshore reef coral rock, by the people that were laid to rest in the churchyard next to the church. The architect during the time was Hiram Bingham.
Amongst the churchyard's buried, is a crypt of one of Hawaii's own Royal Monarchs, King Lunalilo. He was laid to rest there, due to his request of being near his own mother, whom is laid to rest in the churchyard.

During the years of the mid 1800s to the late 1800s, many of the Native Hawaiian chiefs, the Native Hawaiian Royal Monarchs, and their families have attended the Kawaiaha'o Congregational Church's religious services, which were spoken in the Native Hawaiian language.
Today, Native Hawaiian is still spoken in the religious services held at the Kawaiaha'o Church.

On December 29, 1962; Kawaiaha'o Church became a U.S. NHL (National Historic Landmark).
On October 15, 1966; Kawaiaha'o Church also became a U.S. NRHP (National register of Historic places).

However, in 2006, there was a public board meeting held in Honolulu, Hawai'i; regarding a land development proposal for a wedding reception area to be built over the churchyard / graveyard, dismantling and relocating the remains in an undisclosed area.
Since then, many Native Hawaiian protests and injunctions have been filed to stop the Hawai'i state decision.
To this day, this is still an ongoing issue.

On February 14, 2011 (Valentine's Day), the construction crews proceeded with the start of the removal.

Many tourists, Hawai'i residents, and bridal services are not aware of this issue, due to the rise of the current church greed to host more weddings;
thus disrespecting the buried, whom helped build the now Historic Kawaiaha'o Church.

For years, the descendents of the buried, have visited their ancestors buried there, to pay their respect.

The issue regarding the Historical Kawaiaha'o Church is;
If you were buried there, and helped with building a beautifully and well constructed church with your own bare hands and sweat, would you want your original resting ground to have a wedding reception to be built over?

Please STOP the excavating of the deceased hardworkers, whom were honored to be buried in the Kawaiaha'o Church's churchyard.
They are the foundation in building the now Historical site of Kawaiaha'o Church.

"U'i ka mana'o, Maika'i ke Aloha."
Translation: "Thinking is beautiful, LOVE is Good."

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

65 Years Later, Scientist Recalls Top Secret Work on Manhattan Project

By Patrick Manning

Published February 19, 2011

| FoxNews.com

In late 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the United States government developed a top-secret plan. The goal: to develop atomic bombs -- and beat Nazi Germany in doing so. The name: The Manhattan Project.

The unprecedented scientific project would span 4 years and 14 sites nationwide, with famous names like Los Alamos and Oak Ridge, and ultimately lead to the creation of the atomic bomb. It was to include 130,000 workers, 6,000 scientists -- and one young physicist named Robert Carter.

Carter was just a graduate student at Purdue University when he received a letter in December 1943 inviting him to join his professors in Los Alamos.

They couldn't tell him what the project was. They couldn't say what he would be doing. They just asked him to show up.

“I went out not knowing where I was going or what I was going to be working on," Carter told FoxNews.com. "But I trusted these gentlemen,” he said. Now 91 years old, the Bethesda, Md, resident says he's one of the last living people to work on the Manhattan Project. But he couldn't say that at the time.

“We were told not to even tell people we were going to Los Alamos,” he said, to prevent anyone from finding out about the project. If family or friends wanted to write to them, “all of our mail was sent to Santa Fe.”

Carter realizes now the stunning significance of the work. But there was no way he could know anything in 1943, when he was asked to leave his studies at Purdue for “classified war work.”

He knew the physics department had taken on a confidential assignment. The senior professors “all went out West. They couldn’t tell me where they were going, except for out West.”

Within 24 hours of his arrival, Carter found he would be working under J. Robert Oppenheimer on the Manhattan Project, helping with the research and experimentation that led to the first atomic bombs. For his service, Carter would earn a civil servants wage of around $2,500 a year.

Carter told FoxNews.com he felt privileged when he found out what he was doing. “I felt honored but surprised -- I thought I could contribute.”

The physicist worked as a technical assistant experimenting with nuclear reactors, using uranium. And despite the magnitude of the accomplishments, the day-to-day work was often quite ordinary: Carter spent his time on the project working in a lab, trying to discern how big the nuclear explosions would be.

“Some of the measurements I helped do were directly related to the size and configurations to the nuclear cores of the plutonium bombs,” he said.

Hundreds of people worked with him in the secretive Los Alamos facility, he said. Carter praised Oppenheimer’s vision. “He gave the impression of being very capable of doing whatever he chose to do.”

Carter witnessed the explosion at Trinity, a site in rural New Mexico where an experimental bomb was set off. It produced great results.

“The magnitude of the whole thing was overwhelming as it detonated, sitting there in the desert in the early morning,” he told FoxNews.com. Two other historical bombs were produced at Los Alamos: Named Fat Man and Little Boy, each weighed around 4 tons. The pair were set off over Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan, ending World War II and killing more than 100,000 people.

While at Los Alamos, Carter observed the construction of the inner core of Fat Man.

“I’m so pleased it was successful, but so sorry it was used against people,” he said. Though the consequences were devastating, the work was certainly remarkable, and a stunning scientific achievement.

“To achieve this,” he said. “It’s pretty special. It’s hard to describe -- it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.” Ultimately, the work on the project changed his life, Carter said.

After World War II ended, in the winter of 1946, he continued his graduate studies at the University of Illinois. Carter received his master’s degree in physics and returned to Los Alamos to continue the research.

“I intended to get a Ph. D. and teach at a small college someplace, but I decided research was a lot more fun.”

He met his wife in Los Alamos and they had 11 children. Today Carter lives on his own outside of Washington, D.C.; he has 30 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

After leaving Los Alamos, Carter and his family moved to the Washington, D.C., area, where he worked for the Department of Defense, researching the biological effects of nuclear weapons at war. He also spent time working for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

He’s returned to Los Alamos on many occasions, most recently last summer with his family, when he visited the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

At Los Alamos, the research on security and technology continues.

Something unusual will occur in Hawai`i tomorrow on Presidentʻs Day, a US national holiday.

Hawai`i Nationals will gather Monday at the statue of US President William McKinley in front of McKinley high school at 10 AM to observe the centennial of the dedication of the statue.

They will do so by marking the fact that this statue of President McKinley holds in its hand something that never existed – a treaty of annexation between the Hawaiian Kingdom and the United States.

While calling attention to that lie, participants will also underscore a truth – that 98% of all Hawaiian Kingdom Nationals alive at the time in 1898 opposed any attempt to cede Hawai`i to the US.

Moreover they made their protest public record in 1897 by signing the Kuʻe petitions, the monster document containing the signatures of nearly all Hawaiian Kingdom citizens alive at the time.

The event tomorrow is free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to attend and take part in this historic observation of one simple truth – Hawai`i never has been part of the United States.

And speaking of uncovering things, Lanakila Willard was called to uncover one of Mauiʻs largest, oldest and most significant heiaus and what saw in our visit with her is simply amazing.

Donʻt miss our tour of Honua`ula Heiau with Lanakila all this week on Hawai`i’s award winning

Lanakila Willard is one of those Hawaiians who got the call from her ancestors. She answered and before long found herself discovering something that had been covered up for centuries - a Heiau or ancient Hawaiian place of worship. Assuming it to be small, she was stunned to realize the size and scope of what she was uncovering. Aloha Pono,
Mahalo pumehana for being a part of the dedicated hui of individuals around Hawai`i, working to protect our sacred summits. We are writing to you today with an urgent alert! Your voice, and your testimony, are needed today!
What's going on:  The TMT Corporation and the University of Hawai`i Board of Regents are proposing to build a new massive, 18-story telescope, 21,000 square foot office building, road, and parking lot on conservation lands on Mauna Kea’s summit, called the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT).
Wrong for the mountain: Mauna Kea is unique in the world, a place of deep significance in the Hawaiian worldview, and home to rare Hawaiian plants and animals found nowhere else on the planet. Mauna Kea was honored among the sacred places of the world in a National Geographic (January 2011) Special Edition titled, “The Earth’s Holiest Places: Sacred Journeys.”
What's next: The construction permit for the massive Thirty Meter Telescope complex will be considered by the Board of Land and Natural Resources on February 25, 2011.  We think there is a real chance this permit could be denied, but we know there is a lot of pressure from developers to approve it. This permit is one of the last ones needed by the developers before construction can begin.
The Land Board is scheduled to make its decision on this permit on February 25, 2011.
Take Action! Join your voice with hundreds around Hawai`i! Click here to read sample testimony.
(1) Please take just a few minutes today to tell the Land Board Members to reject this permit application, and take true, strong steps to protect the future of Mauna Kea. Take action today at http://bit.ly/TMT-CDUA-testimony!

Unlimited aquarium trade in Hawaii‏

Here is one of many articles asking the same question we have asked for years:

Meanwhile, please be informed that the Abercrombie administration, having campaigned green, change, pono etc, et al, is formally opposed to an aquarium ban.

You may take cold comfort in knowing that the administration's position was offered in testimony by DLNR Director William Aila (submitted by career DLNR staffer Francis Oishi). We believe this testimony was submitted with no briefing to the Governor's office.

That is, DLNR William Aila, has once again prioritized commercial fishing interests over the Abercrombie administration's stated objectives and pledged values. This onerous development is compounded by Director Aila's status as a licensed and permitted commercial aquarium collector in Hawaii.

Although Aila denies any aquarium extraction for many years, he was cited by DLNR recently for not reporting his catch. Of the 150 or so active aquarium permits in Hawaii, DLNR Director William Aila owns the 4th permit ever issued.

This is a conflict of interest and should be untenable to any Abercrombie supporters who believed what they were told.

Please forward this information as you can, so the Abercrombie administration might wake up & smell the dead fish in front of the the Honokohou dumpster.

Is this the Hawaii you voted for?

Also be aware: THE STATE'S position on aquarium collecting is now orchestrated from Kona DAR. In reference to the Honokohou fish kill, Bill Walsh, who runs that outfit said: "This doesn't happen."

I'm not certain what to advise here, but since most of you are familiar with how The State of Hawaii works (or doesn't work), I trust your abilities to respond effectively.

Thanks again,

Robert

THE FOUR LIES IN THE FAKE STATE AKAKA BILL

The Truth Is -

1 - The Hawaiian Kingdom was a fully operational, fully recognized, progressive, sovereign, independent, neutral nation. Its body politic consisted of people from many different ethnicities and races, not just native Hawaiians.

2 - Hawaiians have never been and are not today indigenous people of the United States. Hawaiians are indigenous to Hawai`i and Polynesia.

3 - Non-natives were also citizens and subjects of the Hawaiian Kingdom nation. They
were injured by the loss of their nation just as ethnic Hawaiians were. Therefore their descendants are heirs to the Hawaiian Kingdom as well and should not be left out.

4 - The US is an interloper, a usurper, a kidnapper, an occupier. It has no lawful jurisdiction in Hawai`i. The fake state of Hawai`i is the puppet government of the US.

Now the fake state Akaka bill seeks to form native corporations, getting Hawaiians to give up their land for shares in phony businesses.

The fake state Akaka bill is an outrageous attempt to further subjugate the Hawaiian people by making them plantation (corporate) slaves again.

1- The insinuation that the nation that existed, the Hawaiian Kingdom, was an aboriginal, indigenous (native Hawaiian) government.

2 - The presumption that Hawaiians are indigenous peoples of the United States.

3 - The exclusion of non-“native Hawaiians” whose ancestors were citizens and subjects of the
Hawaiian Kingdom.

4 - The claim that the US and the fake state of Hawai`i are the lawful successors of the Hawaiian
Kingdom.

In the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, Alaskan Natives extinguished all their claims in exchange for 44 million acres and $972 million.

They were then organized into native corporations.

Many individuals were "organized" with others who weren't connected by tribal or blood relationships. They became "corporate" Indians and Aleuts - with little in the way of personal rights.

When they settled they gave up their native rights, like fishing rights.

Yet some recieved preferential fishing permits.

One of the big problems that they encountered was that some corporations came off with better and more resources than other corporations. Many corporations hired expensive lawyers and accountants and pretty near went bankrupt.

Those less than 18 years of age at the time weren't recognized as natives and didn't get any inheritance - except for corporate interests they obtained from their ancestors - like stock in the specific corporation.

Many American Indian tribes entered treaties with the US where they were allowed to keep a tenth of their lands. The US got the other 90%. On many occasions, there were later "settlements" that decreased their lands by more percentages.

Weʻre all familiar with the saying, “many are called, but few answer.”

Lanakila Willard got the call and did answer.

Called by the ancestors to a place on the island of Maui, she was amazed to find what she had been asked to do – uncover an ancient Heiau.

But this was no ordinary Heiau where ancient Hawaiian worship had occurred, but one of only four on the entire island where important political decisions had been made by ancient Hawaiian high chiefs going back over two thousand years.

And thatʻs where we came in the picture – literally.

Given permission to visit with our cameras, Lanakila takes us on a tour of the complex as itʻs being uncovered from centuries of obscurity.

What we saw took our breath away as well as our visit with this extraordinary woman who has taken on this amazing mission. Youʻre invited to come along on our journey all this week on Hawai`i’s award winning

“Hawai`iʻs Hidden Past – A Visit with Lanakila Willard"

Lanakila Willard is one of those Hawaiians who got the call from her ancestors. She answered and before long found herself discovering something that had been covered up for centuries - a Heiau or ancient Hawaiian place of worship. Assuming it to be small, she was stunned to realize the size and scope of what she was uncovering. Join us in our visit with Lanakila on the island of Maui, as she gives us a tour of an amazing place never before seen in modern timesWatch It Here
