She had big shoes to fill, but for Sheryl, that was no problem at all.She tells us, “We share with them who we see they’ll become. They always end up being it, having pride in themselves, their culture and their ancestors.”Participants now come from all over the island, even foster children, to learn respect, values, commitments and to malama (care for) each other and the `aina. With the original students now acting as teachers, the circle keep growing as participants learn the cultural importance of cleaning the land, planting, and rising early each morning, chanting to greet the sun. You’ll be as moved as we were in our amazing visit with Sheryl as she shares with us the secret of her success - “We love these children no matter what and see them as they are. In the end, they always leave feeling good about themselves and their future.”MONDAY, June 23rd At 6:30 PM –Maui – Akaku, Channel 53“Hale Halawai – Monument To Activists – A Visit With Soli Papakihei Niheu”People were concerned about longtime Hawaiian political activist Soli Papakihei Niheu. In poor health and living in an old one-room structure in Waimea, his friends knew he needed something better. So they decided to act. They collected contributions, both money and materials, and soon had enough resources to build him a new house. That’s when Soli stepped forward to let them know he didn’t want a house.Instead he wanted the one thing missing in Hawai`i that’s common throughout most other islands in the Pacific - a hale halawai.Similar to the Maori marae in Aotearoa, (New Zealand,) hale halawai is a formal meeting place to receive and host visitors from far and wide, through Hawaiian protocol and hospitality.Soli saw his hale halawai as a place to host sovereignty movement activists from all over Te Moana Nui – The Polynesian Triangle.Because Soli had dedicated his life to serving others, they knew they now had to do the same thing for him.So they built it for him.In our moving and highly inspirational visit with Soli, you’ll hear him tell his story and see the pictures for yourself of how his hale halawai became reality. Surviving two earthquakes and many other challenges, Soli persevered in his vision of having both a monument to his heroes, the early pioneers of the sovereignty movement, as well as a place for today to teach the young.THURSDAY, June 26th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, June 27th At 8:30 AM –Kaua`i – Ho`ike, Channel 52“The Health Of Our Nation – A Visit with Dr. Kawika Liu”It’s no secret the health of Hawaiians today needs to vastly improve. But what some people may still be unaware of is how it got this way.Dr. Kawika Liu, a Native Hawaiian pediatrician, sees the answers on a daily basis.Kawika knows that the health of the people is directly tied to the health of the `aina, and the `aina’s health is tied to the health of the Nation. On Molokai Dr. Liu witnesses first hand how the continued illegal U.S. occupation of Hawai`i has impacted it’s residents, including, most importantly, Hawai`i’s keiki. While that may seem far-fetched to some, Kawika talks about the direct physical effects, what caused them and how a Free Hawai`i is such a large part of the solution.Hear it firsthand from this fiercely dedicated and knowledgeable medical expert who knows, along with his moving description of what a truly healthy Hawai`i and it’s people could be like.Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same. Please consider a donation today to help further our work. First who's the mother and who's the father since Lot. Secondly, the heir must have been apporved by the house of nobles and Legislators to be in the line of succession. By constitutional law, the marriages must be approved or they will be removed from the line of succession as if they were dead. If they have not been named and the successorship is vacant, by law, the successor must be taken from the pool of candidates mandated by those named from the royal school. The Hawaiian system is determined by who's the mother and who's the father genealogically. The mana is handed down by the partentage. This is why Pauahi probably turned down the crown when offered by Lot and why Emma was defeated. The constitutional laws would have to be changed in order to allow any child of mix heritage or blood and parentage. Successorship does not come automatically because one of your ancestors were ali'i or ali'i nui; it depends on the other parent and what status or rank that person held. There are other criteris established in allowing heirship to the throne. Being a descendant of a monarch means nothing unless the marriage is sanctioned and approved; illegitimate children are not accepted. I hope people understand this and that it is not like European monarchy; also refer to the Constitution regarding successorship and what is required.
Once direct descendants of the children from the Royal School is depleted; then it can open up to the collateral relations but it has to be approved by Legislature and House of Nobles. The constitution has to be amended before that could happen.
Lawfully the bona fide Hawaii Nationals must come together and elect the officials in both houses and candidates must be approved by them or the system could be abolished and a new updated constitution could be presented and approved by the Nationals. Regard all the Sovereignty groups as political parties who can present their candidates and have the people elect the candidate of their choice. That's how I see it.

It was an error to show their process at that time. The purpose was to get everyone together on a common page and for them to be responsible for their own political agenda. The idea was to show unity on a common ground and to validate all with their unique process for the benefit of ALL Hawaii Nationals. It can still be done with parity. The goal was to get all Hawaii nationals to enlist in one common ground and from that point all could put up candidates for elections. The kuleana of each political group was to campaign on their own for membership or support for their particular platform. This is larger than any one specific group. The people's mandate by popular vote will decide which ones will represent them.
Hawaii nationals have been conditioned to believe there is no unity among them and there are fractionalized groups that appear divisive. In truth, there is unity in believing we are an existing nation of Hawaii nationals but without an established government recognized by all. If all the groups cooperate and assist in building one roll of registered nationals they can do the greatest good in dispelling the myth and also introduce their platform, as any political party would do to gain supporters and members of their group.
Recap:
All participate to enroll Hawaii nationals onto one and the same registry.
Representatives or volunteers establish the data bank and maintain the records and criteria of enrollment of all Hawaii nationals regardless of ethnicity. Proof of naturalization must be established for enrollment.
Traitors involved with the invasion and overthrow have lost their citizenship; Missionaries and foreign businessmen had kept their citizenship to their own country.
Naturalization process should be made available regardless of ethnicity.
Election board should be established to fill the vacant seats for people to vote on.
The redrafting of the constitution should be made and introduced for approval by the Hawaii Nationals.
The various groups who are regarded now as political parties do their own campaigning for their agenda and platform and produce their candidates.
Individuals not with any group may apply and run for office provided they have the required signatures of support that is established.
Those registered as citizens are able to vote. Elections proceed and the elected begin to draft the updated constitution and style of governance.
I a little discouraged here. We have a Constitution in place already. We just need to go by that. When everything is vested up by Kanaka then the next in line from Queen Liliuokalani should be the next Constitutional Monarchy. I'm not too happy about that either because I don't know who it is. Might be some floozy who didn't even contribute not one iota to assisting Kanaka. But then we also had something in our culture that allowed us to oust the person if not doing their job. They could tell by the amount of people going hungry or homeless.
Now when everything is vested up, including the Mahele, one of the stipulations (I hope I'm using the correct word) is that only heirs of the Land Patent holders could receive the land and Crown and Goverment land is subject to Koe Nae to Kanaka Maoli.
This is now and never was an issue about race so I don't know what that's all about. It's too cloud the real issue and it seems whoever was doing the clouding has succeeded. Now we think we're being racist?
Could I go to Japan and buy land? If I can't can I say they're racist or that they're just exercising their lawful rights in their own country?
Could I go to Denmark where they have Patented Lands? If they don't let me have land there, now can I call them racists? Or can I just say they're exercising their lawful rights in their own country.
India, because of letters disbributed by Mahealani Ventura-Oliver to different countries in the world, is now patenting their land so no country can come in and make false claims on it. When they finish this process, can I go their and get land? If they don't let me I can call them racist? Create false papers that cover the true and lawful papers and then turn around and call them racists on top of everything else?
The issue here is not racism. The issue here is exercising our lawful rights in our own country. Rights that humans in their own countries use all the time.

That's the way I see it and it makes sense to me.
