"The Hawaiian Independence Movement is a model for lawful, peaceful and yet revolutionary action. It has the capacity to catalyze other such movements and by virtue of the Hawaiian Governments latest law, this movement has become every peace minded persons movement. Hawaii is a microcosm of a better world, if the world does turn for the better, Hawaii will be one of the key links in the chain of peace." -Ken O'Keefe.
For Hawaiian Nationals please re-read the last sentence of Mr. O'Keefe's statement again, what does he mean by this?
It means the whole World is watching and depending on you Hawaiians Nationals to set the example. Therefore be justly proud of who you are as Hawaiians.
We are depending on you to unite! If the majority of Hawaiian Nationals unite under ONE single umbrella the objective is attainable. The Independence Model can ONLY work with greater Hawaiian unity.... not division. If this entails a brand new organization to be formed then form it. Look at your present status, some support OHA, they have staff there who gladly accept the American thirty pieces of silver and short change you the Hawaiian National to their own ends.
The Free Hawaii staff are pono in that the only unity right now is the collective love of the 'aina. If you are on the sidelines you can help enormously by donating to the Koani Foundation or other Sovereignty Groups of your preference.

You Hawaiian Nationals are going to have to be of a very high standard to combat these type arguments, you have to know precisely what you are talking about. As such "cool" is not acceptable by way of reply.
The Hawaiian National enters any debate armed only with the truth and expresses it with civility. That is why Independence will be achieved in the years ahead, that is why the Hawaiian National is a proud title to shoulder. That is why the Hawaiian National does not remain on the sidelines but participates in any way possible in the knowledge the World watches and holds it's breath in anticipation of the good to come.

The answer is yes and no from the Na Kanaka point of view. But, first let me share that I did diversity studies at Cal Poly in 1990-91. What I learned that people on the continent was trying to achieve what we already had for 2,000 years. The next level of aquisition was the 'spirit' from diversity which get's to be a novelty and trinket at times. Diversity is a new element in the sense of politics and things, however Pacific Islanders have practiced their diversity to whereas and sometimes deeper than most cultures and we spend a whole lot of time holding pack our reigns and waiting for catch up. Which is what I do with Free Hawaii--it just get's to be frustrating sometimes. I call it the he'e syndrom. But that is my ego talking too.
