The King of Tonga would welcome me in but will I accept his invitation as one who descended from the Kamehamehas or as a makaainana with shackles as was done to me and not to him? I was told all my documents were thrown into the trash but the churches tell me to identify myself I would need to chant my mokuauhau and this I can do.  Today everyone  can produce papers bought for their purpose but can they chant their mokuauhau? My mama tells me if one has to chant past three generations to get to a king, don't bother. What do you think? Can you?

J.K.RENAULD:You may already have the info on your family name KAIHE going back to TETEKI or KAIHE TETEKI 1724 Maui. This name goes back into the New Zealand line...Interesting because the name KAIHE md. Mele Heleloa (Kuheleloa,Kanakaheleloa,Helela) into my ancestry line. Try going to the Library and have the clerks pull out the Polynesian book and see what you can find.

I am the grand-daughter of the Elvin Kaiakapu. Much of his siblings have passed but he still resides in Hanapepe. I can help with your genealogy if you are still interested. I am interested in my Hanalei 'ohana too.
