  • 'ae, you do need to fill out the form EVERY year for each kid!
and if the 'opio moves you have to submit a new form for the new address. here's the link again: http://doe.k12.hi.us/forms/OptOutMilRecruit.pdf

mahalo e for spreading the word on this. it is no small thing to protect both our keiki from maha'oi intrusions on their privacy and their opportunities in life.
  • Mahalo for this info. will help spread da word.
  • Thanks for the information of the CAT/ASVAB, I didn't know about that option 8 bit. I did "opt out" last week - my 2nd daughter who's in public school - senior@Kohala.
  • Although I will not attend, I am totally against my childrens information going out to the military for "any" reason. My son got harassed by the military for not registering, he couldn't go to college because of it. that is also another infringement on our privacy. Last year, I also did fill out he form. Do we need to fill it out every year? but thanks for the heads up on this. I will ask the office at the school. This really makes me want to homeschool my child and take him out of the system altogether. It's not really a working system anyway (the DOE).
  • Thanks for putting this up!
