HONOLULU -- U.S. Army officials signed a covenant with Native Hawaiians
Wednesay, which they hope will bring greater understanding, more
dialogue, and better relations. A ceremony for the covenant signing was
held on the lawn at Fort DeRussy in Waikiki. It's an attempt by the U.
S. Army to mend fences with the Native Hawaiian community.
(This was a" Media opt" to promote military in hawai'i and to continue bombing in Hawai'i, also to counter the kanaka maoli that have never given up their sovereign rights to our "illegally occupied Sovereign Nation and Kingdom of Hawai'i)

ManyNative Hawaiians blame the Army for its role in the overthrow of their
kingdom, and with modern issues like the live fire training at Makua
Valley, the relationship between Native Hawaiians and the military has
been contentious.
( If it was not for the help of the USA military, the kingdom would still be in the control of the rightful rulers! The statement above voids USA as their part of continuing the wrongful and illegal acts and their MILITARY that is Destroying our AINA.)

“The relationship between Native Hawaiians andthe military becomes increasingly hostile as the years progress. Enough
already. It's time for us to learn to work on building bridges instead
of blowing them up,” said Hawaiian activist Annelle Amaral.
( Hostile ? For demanding justice for our Nation from being illegally occupied, having our culture prostituted, erased and rewritten. This so-called "Hawaiian activist" has help the military countless times to sellout our nation and AINA; for which I agree, enough already!)

Thecovenant promises a mutually respectful attitude, more dialogue, and
preservation of culturally sensitive areas.
( This so called "Covenant" isnʻt worth the toilet paper it was written on and has as much meaning for them as the apology bill of 1993 NONE! ALL of OUR AINA IS A CULTURALLY SENSITIVE AREA , "If they understood the kanaka maoli way of thinking". Ua mau ke ea o ka ʻaina i ka pono; The perpetual sovereignty of the land is righteous.)

“We are creating avisitors center at the Makua military reservation which will provide a
location to describe the history of the valley and the rare cultural
artifacts, and plants located in that beautiful valley,” said Maj. Gen.
Michael Terry.
( What they are creating is a smoke and mirror trick to sell the public on THEIR agenda to continue bombing our AINA , while DESTROYING, EXPOSING and DESECRATING OUR IWI "GRAVES" AND SACRED SITES.)

As Hawaiian and military leaders signed thecovenant the Hawaiians at the ceremony made it clear they don't
represent all Native Hawaiians.
( Eo, so true, they only recognize the ones they can brainwash, manipulate, or those that have personal ulterior motives.)

They did stress the importance of goodrelations with the Army.
( Duh, of course, they donʻt want anymore attention to the truth of them belligerently occupying and usurping OUR SOVEREIGN NATION.)

“To respect the importance of hostculture needs and values, while also recognizing the contribution the
military presence makes in assuring our security and freedom,” said
Neil Hannahs, a Native Hawaiian Advisory Council member.

(Itʻs amazing what the Stockholme Syndrome can produce as exampled by "Nil" Hannahsʻ declaration. If they respected Hawaiʻi, they would de-occupy, make restitution and reparations for all the hewa they have inflicted on the Hawaiʻi nationals and their ʻaina. The USA militaryʻs presence has only put a friendly, neutral nation in HARMʻS WAY as it continues its WASP racist Manifest Destiny archaic doctrines with the mimicry of "...security and freedom" as a vacuous hype. The comment to Hannahs and his ilk that comes to mind is, "Sit UBU sit!".)
