In Loving Memory of James Kekahawalu Kekahuna Sr.> R.I.P. Dad

This Friday March 27, 2009 at Nu'uanu Cemetery will be the final Aloha for Dad. From 9am - 2pm.

Thank you all for your love and understand for me and my ohana during this difficult time. I do humbly thank you for all of your help and condolences while we are reflecting on how much lives this man has touched. As stern and strict as he was, his heart was bigger then himself. He was a man that made sure his son's knew what kind of men they should become. And thanks to him they're 2 more… Continue

Prayers for James Kekahuna Sr.

My father-in-law James Kekahawalu Kekahuna is in the hospital. He is in full organ failure. My husband and I ask that you pray for him as well as my mother-in-law Junelle, for the times that they have ahead of them. I also pray that I can be strong for my husband, who is a man that never really needed me as much as he needs me now.

Mahalo Ke Akua!

A True Hero. Sgt. Jerry Antone Machado Jr.

I once had a great friend named Jerry. When we met we were freshmen in high school. We met through a common friend. Actually, she was helping me out with a pretty big dilemma. The dilemma was, I won our class Homecoming and I needed an escort, and fast. I met him before that through another mutual friend that we shared, but it was 2 years before, and back then we really didn't have much to say to one another. Well, anyway, from the moment that we met, he was always in my life. Whether it… Continue

I Truly Feel Honest Friendship Here...

I feel so much honest friendship here on Maoliworld. I recently lost 2 important people in my life suddenly, one of them being my god father, the other my Cousin Kawela Holi. Being that I was able to express my love for my ohana here, perfect strangers that I never met, left messages of true Aloha and expressed their condolences for my ohana and myself. I would like to say Mahalo for just the simple act of being truly Hawaiian. Unlike any other sites that I have been to, and still currently… Continue

In Loving Memory of Albert Iokepa Sr.

Today is a very sad day for me as well as the rest of my family. My Godfather Albert Iokepa Sr. passed away today, at 10:45 a.m. on this day the 14th day of July 2008. He will always be remembered as the "fisherman" of the ohana, as well as the quiet one with all of the answers. Anything that I ever needed he was there, even when it came down to my own children, he was there.

Uncle, I just want you to know that I wish I was with you more. I know that you will always be watching over… Continue

I am so sorry for your loss of a Great Man,your papa.

His love is here with you and Ohana....think of all the good times you folks had and he is thinking of the same thing because of his Love for all of you.

He will always want the best for you and everyone he loved.

So, pray or think of good thoughts and your dreams will come true.

God Bless you all

aloha, i was going through the geneaology research here on this site and saw that you was asking any references on your great-grandfather John Kalaukoa.. I don't know much about him myself but i believe that my great grandmother and him to be brother and sister, which makes us ohana.. if you need more information on him a can put you into contact with my cousin, who did the Kalaukoa mo'kuauhau..

I started doing genealogy about 4 years ago. I found that I'm very good at it and it has become a passion. I have had great successes with our own family genealogy and last year we had a family reunion that brought several lines of our family together for the first time. The research is fascinating and so very rewarding. I feel privileged to use my talents to help others when I can. I'm happy I was helpful to you.
Aloha pumehana,

Aloha Vaiola,
I saw your comment at the genealogy group area. I do genealogy and did a little search on John Kaimi Kalaukoa. There is an entry at FamilySearch submitted by Dayle Kalama Turner. I don't know how long ago the entry was made but the address for Dayle is 45-519 Apiki St., Kaneohe, 96744. Also, John Kaimi Kalaukoa died October 19, 1982. I suggest going to the library and search the newspaper obituaries for his. Obituaries give you names of survivors and that information could help you find your `ohana.
I hope this helps.
Aloha,
Roz

Aloha,

Thanks for chatting. It's different at this site, more personal to express our mana'o with being uncomfortable. Reminds me of face book, just less games to play. Perhaps the site coordinator will implement Hawaiian games/legends or history too. It's a good way to educate others too!
