E Pule Kākou...
Kekahi Pule Kakahiaka
A Morning Prayer (by Metropolitan Philaret)
E ‘ae iā mākou, e ka Haku, me ka maluhia o ka mana‘o e nānā pono i nā mea a pau o kēia lā hou.
Grant unto us, our Lord, that with peace in mind we may face all that this new day is to bring.
E ‘ae iā mākou i ke aloha e ho‘okō piha ai makou a pau i Kou makemake hemolele.
Grant unto us grace to surrender ourselves completely to Thy holy will.
E a‘o aku ‘Oe a e ho‘omākaukau iā mākou i na mea a pau no kēlā me kēia hola o kēia lā nei.
Instruct and prepare us in all things for every hour of this day.
Na mea like ‘ole a pau e loa‘a mai iā mākou i ka lā, e a‘o aku ‘Oe iā mākou e ho‘āpono mālie iā lākou, i ka mana‘opa‘a loa e ho‘okō i nā hopena āpau i Kou makemake hemolele.
Whatsoever tidings we may receive during the day, do Thou teach us to accept them calmly, in the firm conviction that all eventualities fulfill Thy holy will.
E ho‘omalu ‘Oe i ko mākou mau mana‘o mai ko mākou na‘au ma ka hana a me ka ‘ōlelo.
Govern Thou our thoughts and feelings in all we do and say.
Ke kupu a‘e nā mea ‘ike ‘ole ‘ia e poina ‘ole mākou maiā ‘Oe iho nā mea āpau.
When things unforeseen occur, let us not forget that all cometh down from Thee.
E a‘o aku ‘Oe iā mākou e hana me ka ‘oia‘i‘o a me ke kūpono i kēlā me kēia lālā o ko mākou mau ‘ohana a me nā kānaka āpau, a i ‘ole mākou e hō‘eha a ho‘ohuikau i kekahi mea.
Teach us to behave sincerely and reasonably toward every member of our families and all other human beings, that we may not cause confusion and sorrow to anyone.
E hā‘awi mai iā mākou, e ko mākou Makua, i ka ikaika e ho‘omanawanui i nā hana nui o kēia lā a e ho'omanawanui i ko mākou mau kuleana i loko o nā hanana a pau o kēia lā kekahi.
Bestow upon us, our Lord, strength to endure the fatigue of the day and to bear our share in all its passing events.
E ho‘omālamalama i ko mākou ala a e a‘o mai iā mākou e pule a‘e, e mana‘o‘i‘o a‘e, ‘eha‘eha, huikala aku, a e aloha. ‘Āmene.
Guide Thou our wills and teach us to pray, to believe, to hope, to suffer, to forgive, and to love. Amen.
