  • No not over stepping your bounds. You sound like a wise women and I appreciate the mana'o from all wise souls. There was a time (about 30 years ago) that I truly thought the Hawaiian language was dead. As such I discouraged all my Ohana and friends from learning such, believing that it was just a waste of time. However, I have come to understand that is truly one of our greatest cultural assets.

I would love to learn Olelo Hawaii, it is just a matter of making the time and commitment. Your "Silent Way" sounds interesting. Is there any one on Moku O Keawe who teaches it? for free?

What are my passions? Auwe, too much, always too much on my plate and trying to prioritize my time. My passions are KeAkua, Ohana, and Culture of which I spend much time with Royal Order projects.

What do I do? I currently work with at risk Native Hawaiian youth. However, I hope to get back into the practice of law.

I also enjoy Hawaiian crafts, just last night I finished a whale tooth pendent to wear to my Royal Order mtgs and other Hawaiian occasions. I also hope to learn how to make poi pounders this month.

I am happy to make your acquaintance and hope to become friends.

    A hui hou,

    Pua
  • Aloha mai Ipolani,

Yes I know your brother Kamana'o. Unfortunately I am not in any Hawaiian language program nor do I olelo Hawaii, however, it is still my hope to one day learn. As for Lua, yes I belong to a pa (Pa Ku'i A Lua) on Moku O Keawe. I am also a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I.

I hope you are having a good weekend and hope to hear back from you.

    A hui hou,

    Pua
