1. Demonstration in SF today; demonstrations in 29 cities on Saturday!
2. Demonstration at Times Square NYC
3. Report: Obama Poised to Announce 45,000 Troop Escalation in Afghanistan
4. Trolley Update and Details
1. Emergency Protest in San Francisco Today! Protesters will march from Union Square to the front of the St. Francis Hotel where Obama is staying to protest Obama's rebranding of the Bush/Cheney program of endless war, preventive detention, and legalized torture. World Can't Wait will award him with a newly-created, George Orwell "War is Peace" Prize. Watch for news!

There will be actions in at least 49 cities on Saturday! You can be one of thousands who are breaking the silence around Obama's trajectory of war, occupations and torture! Join us on Saturday at 3pm at Ala Moana Park (look for the blue earth flags at the Diamond Head end of the park). Call 534-2255 for details.

2. Don't miss the testimony of Staff Sgt. Sandra Lee, who spoke at last week's anti-recruitment demonstration in front of the Times Square Recruitment Station in NYC. How can the US military save Afghan women, when 1 in 3 of its own female members are raped by their fellow soldiers and Marines? Here's the link: Times Square Protest

3. The Obama Administration has reportedly told the British government that it intends to announce an escalation of another 45,000 troops in Afghanistan, potentially as soon as next week. Read more at: 45,000 troops.

4. Important update on trolley! The trolley company just informed us that they cannot provide the trolley. Several are out of commission, and other companies who regularly contract with them and have priority. We have reserved a flatbed truck and will have chairs and mats attached. The truck has a lift and we'll have steps to make it easier to get on the truck as well. We'll try to make it as comfortable as possible. On the positive side, the truck will have a sound system, your signs will be highly visible, and you'll definitely be heard and seen!

5. Check out the Afghanistan Fact Sheet at: Afghanistan Fact Sheet.

Saturday, October 17, 2009
Assemble at 3pm (march steps into the street at 3:30!)
Ala Moana Park near Atkinson entrance
(Look for blue earth flags)
The U.S.-led war in Afghanistan is in its 9th year and escalating...
The War on Iraq is continuing...
U.S. Drones Continue to Bomb Pakistan...
and the U.S. threatens to go to war against Iran!
Renditions and detentions are continuing...
Torture is still "legal" and continuing...
Guantanamo has not closed and Bagram Prison has expanded...
Congress is voting on a bill to prohibit the release of torture photos...

And Barack Obama just received the Nobel Peace Prize!
Join us on Saturday and break the silence. We'll be marching around Ala Moana Shopping Center and our voices will fill the mall - if you're there!
Read/view the following and ask yourself how you can be silent:

Watch "The Hidden Massacre" on the U.S.'s use of White Phosphorus. This is really a must-see! Excellent production and if this doesn't motivate you to speak out we don't know what will. White Phosphorus

Obama, the Nobel Price and What Peace Means, by Cindy Sheehan: Cindy Sheehan on the Nobel Peace Prize

30 GOP Senators Vote to Defend Gang Rape: Gang Rape. This was forwarded by Ann Wright, who will be involved in non-violent civil disobedience at the Times Square Recruiting Station in NYC beginning on October 13th. (One in three women in the military have reported they were raped while in the military!) Watch for coverage of the action!

National Lawyers Guild and 15 Other Human Rights Groups Call on Holder to Investigate and Prosecute Bush Regime War Criminals: Prosecute Bush Regime War Criminals

ALOHA Kakou, e Hawaii, Some one yesterday asked me why I was at the Rally for Equality March yesterday. Mahalo nui to Pono and Manu for being there also for our Kingdom. Long Live The Hawaiian Kingdom, o Pomai

Sunday, October 11 at 3:30pm
Hawai`i State Capitol
Tomorrow (Sunday) is the National Equality March and Rally in Washington, D.C. and there are solidarity marches across the U.S. - and in Honolulu.
For all those who hate discrimination and oppression - and especially from the point of view of revolutionaries who are fighting for a world free of all oppression - this march and this cause are very important to support and join.

See the excellent article in Revolution Newspaper on the importance of uniting with this march and joining it at: Revolution. As the article says: "The current struggle for LGBT equality is part of a larger battle over the whole direction of U.S. society. And right now there is a lot at stake in uniting many, many more people to step into the fight.. For information on the National Equality March in Washington, DC on the weekend of October 10-11, go to National Equality March. The Oahu action will happen at the State Capitol at 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon, with a march around the State Capitol and Iolani Palace beginning at 4pm. Gather at the Damien Statue. Bring signs!!

Revolution Books will close at 3:15 to enable the staff to attend the march. Join us!

ALOHA Kakou, e Hawaii,
Under the laws of the Hawaiian Kingdom the Crown Lands were not part of the Government Lands of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The Crown Lands were made Inalienable under the laws of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
This is when in the Organic Act of 1900 of the Territory of Hawaii that Act makes the Crown Lands Alienable. Which we know is a Fraud.
Prince Kuhio offered the Crown Lands to be the Land Base of the Hawaiian Homestead Act. At 1900 the Crown Lands were 970.000 acres of lands. Not only 200,000!
I was disappointed that this kind of information was not explained to us at the UH Forum on the Crown and Government Lands by members of the panel.
The Crown Lands under the laws of the Hawaiian Kingdom belonged to the Native Indigenous Hawaiian people. Not members of the General Public of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

ALOHA Kakou, e Hawaii, Off all the things that the missionaires did they did education our people to the ways of the new world. We should be educated by now to take back our nation. Off course if I was in the education system with a paying job, I would continue to support the Education System that is doing What? How many more books, movies and laws need to be passed about the overthrow of the lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom being illegal?
Long Live The Hawaiian Kingdom, o Pomaikaiokalani

Ehren Watada stood up for his the wrongs of the Bush War. An Immoral War that continues till this day. An Immoral War that may continue for the next 100 years. Today that Immoral War is the Obama War.
