Aloha everyone,

It's kind've funny that we're all grad students but we all introduced ourselves in the comments section and not in the "Hoolauna" thread that Noe made...

Anyway, my name is Bryan Kuwada (although a lot of people call me Kamaoli), and I'm finishing up my MA in the English department at UH-Manoa and I'll be starting the PhD in the fall. I work as a Hawaiian-language translator for Awaiaulu, a somewhat new press, and I focus on translation studies, post-colonial theory, critical theory, and other fun things like that which will hopefully allow us to create a model for "responsible" translation (not that it's even clear what it would mean to be responsible). I'm glad to be a part of the group (plus I got scoldings from Noe for not joining yet...) and hope we can get some interesting discussions going (and maybe some theory discussions as well? I hope I'm not the only one that sounds exciting to...).

me ke aloha,

Ehehe, does it count if you already graduated, and now advise graduate students? Maikai keia hui āu i hookumu ʻia ai e Noe.
