Commission is getting ready to set in-stream flow standards for 16 surface water areas in East Maui, which includes 19 streams. They are asking public for information regarding the streams, drainage basins and watersheds that the scientists may have missed. Recent new in-flow standards will apply to areas called Waikamoi (Alo and Wahinepe`e included), Puohokamoa, Ha`ipu`ena, Punalau, Honomanū, Nua`ailua, `Ōhia (known as Waianu), West and East Wailua Iki, Kopiliula (includes Pua`aka`a), Waiohue, Pa`akea, Waiaaka, Kapaula, Hanawī, and Makapipi.Draft reports byState & USGS www.hawaii.gov/dlnr/cwrm/sw_ifsar.htmCommission will accept testimony from public until Oct 30th.
