Aloha Leilani, and mahalo for taking the time to write. There are many concerns about Hawaii Superferry coming here. It's good to know that there are others who care. We need more folks to get the facts about this venture, and if we feel it necessary, to write to our legislators and tell them our concerns. Kaua'i has kept HSF from going there; maybe we can do the same for Big Island. Having followed this since November '04, I sincerely believe the "bads" far outweigh any "goods".

Take care,
Jeff

Hi Leilani.

E kala mai... but it's just my mana'o. I don't see that happening mainly because I know that some people already know about us and about our history yet they still do not care about us and it shows. Now if they cared about us then yeah... I can see the UN helping us and it's just my opinion but the U.S. runs the UN so I don't see them helping us. I still have hope though realistically I personally don't think it will happen because of the they don't care about us part. Also if they really wanted to help us chances are they would have already done so. I think this way because the Internet has globalized information about us yet very little has been done to help us. Or at least since I have been alive which is about 41 years.

Do you mean my email or yours? I don't post too much in comments but my email is HeHawaiiAu@Gmail.com

Aloha, L

Hi Leilani.

It upsets me... to say the least LOL... but like you mentioned about the UN... IMO the U.S. "owns" the UN and dictates to other nations so I don't see them listening to Hawaiians. I mean... they (the U.S.) didn't listen to our kupuna then and they still are not listening.

Auwe! It's crazy. I'm catching up on the news right now since I've been away from the computer for a few days. I get alot of the news from the Hawaiian-Independence Newsgroup and even then you have to read between the lines to get the whole story. Anyway, I hope you are doing well. May Ke Akua guide us and protect us.

Aloha,

Aloha e Leilani.

Sorry... I was gonna delete my response. I noticed that you live in Ka'u? I was baptized in Ka'u.

Your completely right. It is naive to think that they are just plain ignorant and it is not what I meant to convey. They most definitely hold themselves above the law when it benefits them and no matter who they step on. It is the old story of the ongoing effort to rid the world of people who don't fit into their plans. To believe otherwise is obvious denial.

The lack of support from those who it does not personally affect has an impact on how much lack of sympathy/respect we get from the ones who are suppose to uphold the law or who are the policy makers. Why? Because of the lack of knowledge or understanding. They see things through a narrow lens and it is time they widen their view because it is also their ignorance/silence that helps perpetuate these kinds of things.

Right! I just can't wrap my head around it. The corruption is so in your face too. And why should it come down to something like that too? Why don't they realize how inherently wrong it is?
