  • Good footage of what it looks like to be "house" kanaka. These "Cape Crusaders" should wake up from their coma. Who are they asking to cleanse? They must clean up their piapia from their maka before they assume that they speak for us kanaka who know that real hewa is on the invaders. Bunch of coconuts begging to please their masters. Iolani Palace is not a museum for affluent tourist to spend some time, it is the seat of our government which continues to be under prolonged occupation by the world's most powerful military regime. Go kanaka go! More Akahinuis!!!
  • Yes, I understand. What I meant by "I hurt every time I see us as koko be disrespected in many forms." is the genocide, we as koko having to speak up for inherent rights, real estate agents and brokers and crooked attorneys selling off by quiet title, etc We, koko are disrespected and it started from the real crime - I hurt every time I hear a touching story or song or chant or see an art on canvas depicting the past of what was and is not at present.
I am a tired and exhausted warrior as all of us has experienced in some way or form, but we must move forward and keep the fight - hard to do with LOVE and do IN LOVE, but I personally feel if we do IN LOVE and IN NUMBERS we can be heard much more. Hard to deafen the ears when one does in LOVE, in rage and anger the other party would rather disconnect the lines. Love in my opinon WILL, conquer in the end.

By the way, have you noticed that the Hawaii State Government putting out their commercials concerning voting rights? I know that it's the polling season, but since last night my husband and I have seen the hawaii.gov commercial bring to light of how we as koko did not have a vote on territorial government, did not have a vote on Gov. Willilam Quinn, did not have a vote on US representative Burns, etc and the tail end of the commercial states..."now we have a right to vote, etc etc etc" What a play on the drama we as koko went through. These commercials coincidentally started after this incident at 'Iolani. The message I get from it is "trying to look good for the wrongs and wanting some empathy".

Pono, I always see your side as many do, what I like to say as my mana'o is I understand, I am with you in the understanding, but to continue in LOVE and we do this in ONE VOICE and when we do these two things, find the humor in it all and continue da work until the end.

Take care my friend, you are good people.
  • kala mai their is no disrespect, I see ur voice alwayz speaking up for our Koko & aina.
what I have put up ,was more for others to understand where i am coming from.
    me ka ha'aha'a
    Pono
  • Yes Pono, I understand your disagreement as well as with Kahu Hanalei, that is a given because of how you innately feel about the real crime. I understand about the real crime, I agree about the real crime.

What I viewed from what this procession and ho'okupu was to honor Queen Lili'uokalani's prayer. Our last reigning Queen knew what was happening, didin't agree with what was happening and in her last prayer she asks Ke Akua to intervene for her. Which means to me and has always meant to me that the sovereign nation which still is will rise in some form out of the ashes - not our timing but Ke Akua to make sure it is done in peace. There has to be ONE VOICE.

Meanwhle, as HER prayer....she asks that those that have done wrong will be punished for their deeds. Very strong prayer to ask Ke Akua in closing "give em what pain and suffering I have had to ordeal in all this". I have seen spiritually Ke Akua's work in this area. There are a lot of silent things that have happened and I liken it to "what goes around comes around - TENFOLD". All the haoles that did us wrong, their bloodline today have suffered incredibily with either health issues or scandal issues. I know of one haole family in particular who their great great grandfather and lines before disrespected indians and hawaiians with all their money and today the curse that was given them from the indians (take the life of each male in the family) exists - they will never carry on the name, the line is broken and will continue to break as there is only 2 males carrying the name and they are very young and have been close to death 2 -3 times in their lifetime and they are not in their 40's yet.

Spiritually there are many things happening and that is what is behind the scenes in my opinion - that is GREAT POWER for things like that to happen in answer to wrongs. While this is going on, we as a people of koko must be ONE VOICE, or we will not be taken seriously. We have the apology which is a great firm stand to take on paper - here on we continue to fight our civil rights but by doing it in peace in numbers for as many time as we have to we will be eventually heard while those doing the work behind the scenes (spiritual and manual man power at work) will continue. The time now is to continually educate koko and nonkoko without violence. In your way I see this being done with your UnKauInoa T-Shirt posing along side a Kau Inoa booth, in your videos, in your artwork that is so beautiful which you share on Maoliworld...we all do our part.

While we continue to do our part...it will all come pass, we just don't know when. For me, we continue without question and have faith, Ke Akua will see that it is done in the courts, in our public views, in our actions, in our work.

For me as my calling, I protect all that I can in our lands - keep it open and in conservation so that we will have our lands without much trouble in bucking heads with someone whether physically or by paperwork. This is what I am called to do and in the mean time, I get pissed off to no end but I remember to do this in love fo that is Ke Akua first and foremost, LOVE in an unconditional way.

Hope you understand where I come from, from my innate. I hurt every time I see us as koko be disrespected in many forms, I have sleepless nights, I can go for 3 days without sleep, this is how it affects me. While I don't sleep I do paperwork on issues, research on issues all in what I am doing here in my district. There is a saying that those without a conscious sleep well at night. For me, spirit keeps me up and I find I get my best work out of it and then I can sleep better in a week. This is my pattern since my kupuna Auntie Marie Solomon told me in 1992 I had to stand in front of our community and tell them who I was. I didn't want to and she gave me a look like, "what, you're not going to listen to me, or disrespect my words?" That look made me humble in my place.
  • I need to disagree with you, as in the other video I posted with Kahu Hanalei, I agree with his View that this was a pure political move to condem "Akahi Nui" for his actions and distract from Akahi nui's main reasons as also with all the others "Mahealani' and Hui_Pu's that the REAL CRIME IS BLURRED AND BURIED, OF THE ILLEGAL OVERTHROW AND THE CONTINUOUS ILLEGAL RULE AND GENOCIDE OF THE USA!

again mahalo for ur thoughts ,but this is my point of view.
    me ka ha'aha'a

  • Ohhh my...and I cried as I sang along with them. This was long overdue but in my opinion it was Ke Akua's timing not ours.

Mahalo again Pono for providing this video...I felt a part of it.
