Doing quick jump overs are the trendy thing to do with people that too lazy to do good research to get to the deeper meaning and understanding of what transpired and how it has an affect on today's 'Hawaiian Movement.' which is all queen bee!
I did check you site and its wonderful to note that the native Hawaiian patriarch and their mahu counterparts were joined, however, not the native women. They were still home in their 'stockholm syndrom' because they could not really be a leasee on Hawaiian Homestead. Even if they did vote they would have voted like their husbands. The the percentages was neat to read.
What that cite neglected to express was for independence, statehood, or nay. It would have been fantastic to see the votes for independence then we would have had a true understanding of what transpired.
As my father said, "now they going take all the land" on Statehood Day!
A vote means plebisite for statehood any type of election! What can I say, huh. Ehu check out the decolonization tribute to Dr. Kekuni one will see the decolonization process. What one does not see is Angle from Guam in the basement of the Oahu site. We had this discussion with Angle, plus sustainablity and the military abuses.
Voting entrenches the US military in Hawaii. I too realized this when I registered and started to vote that I was participating in keeping the military here in Hawaii. The act of voting maintains Statehood which is why I truly support the no treaty and no annexation!
Why do we worry about 1959 State hood. First we need to stick with our Queen Liliuokalani, issue that where it all started. According to the Apology Bill signed by president William C. Clinton in 1993. We can not jump from one to another. That is why our kupuna would say lolo ( mean brain) use your brain. When you begin something you end it with a full understanding with Ho'oponopono, love and respect that is where the unity come. Once that mission is complete we move into the next stage. I hope this make sense.
