TROUBLES MOUNT FOR SUPERFERRY

The Hawai`i Superferry has dismissed Terry O’Halloran, its director of business development, and Duane Kim, manager of Maui operations.Superferry spokeswoman Lori Abe said the company doesn’t “publicly discuss specific personnel actions” but added that it “made some realignments last week in the port, maintenance and engineering, and business development areas that affected a small number of people.”Meanwhile an appeal by Maui opponents of the ferry is scheduled for a Dec. 18 hearing before the Hawai`i Supreme Court. The opponents are challenging the state Legislature’s Act 2, passed in October 2007, which allows Superferry to continue operations while an environmental impact statement is being conducted.
