Poka Laenui has never been one to shy away from tough questions.

One of Hawai`iʻs longest serving human rights activists, he recently went to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland to advocate for a Free Hawai`i.

  • A key feature of the Reformist approach is a "running battle" with the blackbirding pirates.  Reformists are eager and ready to "head them off at the pass" !!!

    Listen to the Reformists:

"Let's just forget about the Palace !"
"A King will only turn a lot of people off !"
    "Let's have a constitution writing competition !"
"Let no one call us 'sentimental' !"
"Let's just forget about the Blount Report !"
    "Let's just forget about President Cleveland's Report on December 18, 1893 !"
    "We'll outfox the blackbirders !"
"If we mention genealogy,  they will call us sentimental."
"If we mention iwi kupuna, they will call us sentimental."
"If we mention Lili'uokalani, they will call us sentimental."
"If we mention the past, they will call us sentimental."
"If we mention the Crown, they will call us sentimental."
"If we mention the Throne, they will call us sentimental."
"If we mention "POWER",  they will call us pretentious because........

we do not have any nukes."
"With a little help from our brain trust at the UH Manoa we can 'head them off at the pass' !"
"What's wrong with just starting from 'scratch'  ??"
"With the money from our casinos we will just buy back everything the black- birding pirates have ripped- off !"
"As OHA Trustees we can just walk the grounds of 'Iolani Palace with Neil and Nancie even
though WE KNOW BETTER.  Why make a fuss ?  Besides, we will get to know our enemy better."
"Let's follow Francis Boyle and Martin Luther King, Jr.  The road that Tupua Tamasese
Lealofi III, Mahatma Gandhi, and Lili'uokalani took is too steep."

  • A "running battle" with the black- birding pirates does NOT seem to be the best strategy.  They have a lot more money.  They control a vast brain- washing machine.  Sooner or later Hawaiians MUST "dig in their heels" and say "We will fight from this place."  Royalists want to fight in one place.  Various Reformers chose other positions to make their "best" stand.  Needless to say,  with every sunset,  time works in favor of the pirates.  Every sunset weighs heavily on 'Iolani Palace.  One little skirmish after another little skirmish works in whose favor ??  What good does it do to feel sentimental about how Hawaiians lived before the Tahitians invaded ??
  • Imua Kukuna o ka la........................
  • Excellent Information on Human Rights is worthless as long as the people remain slaves to the American Dream!   Imua Kukuna o ka la........... o Pomai
  • Excellent Information on Human Rights, I've been listenign to Kennth Roth on human rights abuses. It's an hour long session.
  • Poka is your typical Reformer.  He skipped over the Blount Report and Grover Cleveland's Report.  A two term U.S. President said nothing at all about the rights of indigenous peoples !!  But a Reformer can take the Hawaiian case down the dead end road of indigenous "rights" which has nothing at all to do with the National Power of Our Queen.
Secondly,  Trust territory does NOT apply.  It seems to me (mana'o ha'aha'a)  that the USA considers Hawaii as simply a "spoil" of the Spanish American War.  Pau.  End of plebisite.
