  • Yes, it should be free. I looked at the sight, I see some 'ohana there too!
  • Hi Alice.

I agree. I think that when more people or rather more oiwi sign and some people see other oiwi inoa there whom they can trust then that may make other oiwi feel that hey... something really may be wrong if so and so signs/ed it.

Here is a petition that epitomizes that some people do place their name for the right reason:

    http://www.oha.org/pdf/kwo06/0602/18.pdf

It also epitomizes that despite a disagreement that another oiwi had with me he STILL placed my name there so there is hope. He could have easily ignored my request to be added but he didn't.

Anyway I have mixed feelings about Bishop Museum. I won't criticize it but they are charging us to see our kupunas' personal belongings. There is something inherently wrong with that LOL

    Aloha, Lana
  • Aloha,

Reptition is good. The more we see and hear it, the stronger the connection. The kanaka po'e has been brainwashed by U.S. about not doing anything because so ma'a to the same old things. Some may not want to sign on petition but just wait and see. Some may not be sure what is going on and don't want to know. Some may not care and decides to do their own thing xxLOLxx.

However, the choices are limited to what MANA C. posted on his blog, you may need to call Bishop Museum and make a appoitnment to figure out where the iwi will be stored. The sign will say:

THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE THE LAST KANAKA MAOLI IWI IS STORED (NOT BURRIED). HERE LIES 480,000 KANAKA MAOLI. 20% ACTIVE, 80% UNSURE.

This is a slap in our face to even have to visit the Bishop Museum because visitors believe the Hawaiian culture has died or will be extint! We have faith that our KEIKI don't have to struggle and we continue to fight for them. Sometimes hilahila is more obvious yet quietly no one wants to be seen!

A kanaka from Waianae whose children are related to me is working with haumana who dropped out of high school. She doesn't get compensated yet she does what she can to help them with education. The high school should be closed down and changed to a charter school. Na haumana is finding out that the true history of the Hawaiian po'e is not the same as in the text book. Many LIES and what is the DOE doing about attrition. Are they really focusing on RETENTION.

RETENTION for FREE HAWAII FROM THIS BS. SAY NO TO AKAKA BILL, don't only SIGN it, get involved...
  • I like this part

I would add too that they are fighting for *our* land. It WILL destroy ALL of us.

I'm stating the obvious again though....
