Aloha ,

TOMORROW, Obama Administration officials will be in Honolulu to listen& learn as they prepare recommendations for a unified U.S. OceanPolicy. They will convene a public "listening session" tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29th, 1:30PM - 6PM at the Blaisdell Center in Honolulu. You should be there.

Got one of these? Kama'aina Kids will be providing free childcare for your keiki while you attend and testify at the Ocean Policy Taskforce! Free parking at the Blaisdell will also be provided.

In June, the President made a commitment to dramatically improve thehealth of the ocean. Sadly, the push towards a unified U.S. oceanpolicy may get hijacked by corporate interests seeking to exploit ouroceans and may end up undermining local management efforts.

Thankfully, the Obama Administration heeded the public call to hold aspecial listening session in Honolulu. Now, high-rankingAdministration officials will hear directly from us on what can be doneto protect our oceans and respect our unique way of life.

We think it is so important that you attend that we have negotiated forfree public parking at the Blaisdell and free keiki-care, so parentscan focus for a minute on testifying to the Administration panel
! (We're parents, too... We know how it is!)
Can't be there in person? Click here to find out about live videoconferencing options and submitting written comments (http://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/eop/ceq/initiatives/oceans/). Call us, if you need any more information, at 808-524-8220, or toll-free at 1-800-585-2432.

  • I know. I voted for Mckinney. I never sent in anything to change.gov for the same reason. I am just putting stuff out there in connection with the NRC situation at Pohakuloa on my moku o keawe. I would rate the probability of changing O'bomber's sea policy as close to nil, but it takes so little effort to fire off three sentences condemning what they do.
  • Um... the Obama Administration supports corporate interests. This opportunity for the public to testify is only for show....
