The USS Louisville, a Los Angeles class attack submarine, made a port call at Lahaina Harbor over the Memorial Day weekend.
The Maui Council’s Navy League and the Lahaina Yacht Club acted as hosts for the officers and crew of the submarine
and received tours of the nuclear-powered sub, deployed in 1991 to the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Desert Storm.
The sub has 12 officers, 20 chiefs and 130 enlisted crew members.
The USS Louisville’s home port is Pearl Harbor.
