Most landfills in Hawai`i are located in communities where the majority population is native Hawaiian. These landfills are currently over capacity.
Rather than create additional landfills in primarily caucasian neighborhoods, the occupying government prefers to waste scarce funds to send Hawai`i's waste to others' lands, in this case the Yakama people's lands.
A native Hawaiian would never consider such an alternative and we send our prayers that the Yakama people will prevail in protecting their lands from Hawai`i's garbage.
Sincerely,
Isaac Harp

Need to pay attention to Sept 9 meeting with State Land Commission that is approving: Waste Streaming, air quality control without measurements, transfer of Depleted Uranium and martial law.
We did a poor job in Hilo on Jan 13, 2010 and should step up to the frontline on this and call the kettle black even if it means ourselves. Popularity is far reaching within the behavior of native Hawaiians, unfortunately, it is not always right. Kahea to our gods helps in the spirit world, but not in the real world on blue green planet.
Native Hawaiian will not demand air quality measurements in Waianae where depleted uranium was trucked into Makua, Waianae Valley, Maili (PVT site) Nanakuli landfil from the inception of the Pentagons approval for procurements as a means of economic sustainability. That is the problem from this point of cotention one can move towards not shipping or transfering DU over the ocean and to another place on the United States. Nuclear Waste Streaming is the concern.
Our contention with the Nuclear Regulatory Agency and Atomic Energy Commission (Judges) was weakly presented on Jan 13, 2010. We can't be apologizing and signing a covenant with the military and go home and sleep.
Ones apology on behalf of the native Hawaiian people --no different than Pres. Bill Clinton(US) and Na Kanaka Akaka (Akaka Bill) to the native Hawaiian and their Na Kupuna ancestors. We have congenial birth defect rising right before our eyes. And spreading this behavior across the ocean into another native community where 'first language' is spoken and preserved.
I join with my other Hawaiian Nationals and extend my apology to the Yakama Nation and its people.
The State of Hawaii is a Fake State of the United States. Having no lawful jurisdiction of law.
Culturally it is wrong for Hawaii to send it waste products to your homeland. Waste products that should remain in Hawaii.
I am grateful for your refusal to accept the Waste Products of Hawaii being sent to your homeland.
All native indigenous peoples of the world needs to take the same actions to protect their homelands from future desecration by agents of the United States.
