LUC Expected to Rule This Week‏

LUC to Rule on HOOPILI and KOA RIDGE THIS WEEK

It's almost as rare as the transit of Venus across the sun but the LUC could well rule in favor of preserving our highest producing farmland when they make their decision about whether to grant Castle and Cooke's petition to develop Koa Ridge (final hearing Thursday, June 7) and D.R. Horton's petition to develop Ho`opili (final hearing Friday, June 8).

The Land Use Commission hearings are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m both days in the 2nd floor Conference Room of the State Office Tower directly across from St. Andrew's Cathedral at 235 Beretania Street.Come to show your support and hear final oral arguments by our intervenors Friends of Makakilo, Sierra Club and Clayton Hee.

Help us hold banners from 8am to 9am outside the building. The unions pay people to hold signs and occupy the LUC room. We pay for our own signs/banners and use volunteers. Contact us if you can spare an hour to hold our banners on Beretania Street.  Then be ready to celebrate, we hope, when the LUC rules to protect our farmlands.

FARM FRIENDS CELEBRATION AT GORDON BIERSCH
