Although American media coverage of the recent Christchurch earthquake has diminished, the suffering of those affected has not.
What can we do about it?
Six young Hokuleʻa crew members will embark on a humanitarian voyage to New Zealand within the week.
They will travel by jet instead of sailing canoe, but like an ocean voyage, they must be self-sufficient to cope with the difficulties in Christchurch.
Their expenses will total around $20,000.
Since many of them are students, they do not have the funds to finance this trip themselves.
Please help them bring some aloha to our Polynesian cousins who are suffering down under.
If 200 members of our moana ‘ohana (ocean family) contribute $100 each, their expenses will be fully covered.
Anything raised in excess of travel costs will go directly to organizations assisting with earthquake relief.
To contribute, please send your tax-deductible gift to:

A gift in any amount is greatly appreciated.
We humbly request that you forward this email to your personal network of friends, family, and business associates.
Members of Kapu na Keiki (Hold Sacred the Children) from Polynesian Voyaging Society will depart for Christchurch within the week.
They need your help to help victims recover from the tragic earthquake of February 22.
