Aloha e Pono,
Just a reminder! KAHEA is celebrating 15 years of grassroots organizing across the pae 'āina! Please join us at the Kaka'ako Agora tomorrow, Thursday, June 4, at 5pm for a pau hana with music, drinks, talk story and pupus.
We just received a generous donation from Hawai'i's Finest and some nice gear from the Aloha Aina Poi Company that will be raffled at the event. Additional tickets will be available for purchase to increase your chances of winning!
What: We are KAHEA Fundraiser and Mauna Kea Talk Story
When: Thursday, June 4, 5:00-8:00 PM
Where: Kaka'ako Agora (441 Cooke St.)
We'll be having small break-out discussions led by folks who have been following the TMT issue for years. We'll be on hand to cover some of the basic facts and will be brainstorming different ways to think about and address some questions we are all likely to encounter in our search for clarity on this issue. Bring an open mind and your best ideas for how to engage with each other!
A note about parking:
Metered street parking along Cooke St. is available from 3:30pm on weekdays. There is no parking along Cooke St. between 3:30pm - 5:30pm on weekdays. Street parking throughout the neighborhood is free after 6pm. Free parking is available at the 555 South Street lot after 6pm.
If you are unable to join us on June 4th but would still like to support KAHEA's work, please click here to donate securely. KAHEA is a 501(c)(3) organization and all gifts are tax-deductible. Mahalo to all of the amazing folks in our network who have already given so generously this year.
Proceeds will support the ongoing work of KAHEA: The Hawaiian-Environmental Alliance in its grassroots programs, working with communities to ensure the strongest possible protections for some of Hawaii's most fragile and sacred lands and waters.
See you tomorrow!
Mahalo nui,
Us Guys at KAHEA
