Here's What The History Books Won't Tell YouWestern diseases, to which Hawaiians had no immunity, decimated their numbers. At the time of western contact, well over 500,000 people inhabited the Hawaiian Islands.By 1805 that number had been more than halved.By 1853 there were only 71,000 Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian people in the islands.Within 100 years of western contact, the Hawaiian population had been reduced by nearly 90 percent.According to the 2000 census, the numbers of people who claim some native Hawaiian ancestry have increased to over 400,000. But only 239,000 live in Hawai`i and they are the poorest, most locked-up population in the state.Although they only make up about 20 percent of the state's population, in June 2001 they made up 39 percent of the state's prison population, according to the state Department of Public Safety.Sadly, today they make up 37 percent of the state's homeless population.
To me...it was "OPERATION TAKE OVER" and there is more than one way to do that.
1) Bring in diseases that the existing population has no resistance to. (then control who, how, when...those who are infected...get treated. Or don't get treated.)
2) Use divide and conquer techiniques...paying labor brought in from overseas more than you.
3) Outlaw the language of the people...which in part starts the disentigration of a culture.
4) Relplace the existing "spirtual" world with a different religion which undermines all that was formerly believed to be true.
5) Institute a foreign way of looking at LAND. Suggest that land can be BOUGHT...then dilligently push a process whereby those who are NOT of this land can buy it.
6) Don't allow the native people to play an active role in any of the politics of the day. Make them feel "less than"...furthermore infiltrating their self image and feelings of self worth.
7) Don't have any newscasters or media presence for those of this land. Hapa is ok...they LOOK
like Local.
8) Make comments that Hawaiians are dumb, lazy, alcoholics, tempers, etc....and continue this until it STICKS.
9) Kick them out of their homes, kick them to the curb, then make it a crime to sit on the curb, to lay on our beaches, to walk into our mountains, access to our beaches. Make what we DO to survive...a crime.
Now...if you can tell me one group of people who could last through all that....and survive and thrive....I'll say you're not being honest.
This was a deliberate and concerted effort on the part of those came here, and didn't want to leave. They destroyed a people, and will ultimately destroy our islands if allowed to keep going as they have. We must huli this to have any JUSTICE.

Hawaiian Sexuality a scared topic to discuss because we were 'shamed' into the corner their corner. We need to come out of that corner to discuss how that behavior was interpreted from a first sin to Hawaii as the first fake state to have legal abortions, to the governor's children auction block.
