If no mo signs, come anyway, we get plenty. This is a strategic action to stir up public awareness of the abuses by DLNR and the total lack of jurisdiction of that agency or the state, or the U.S. Feds over any lands in the Hawaiian Islands. This challenge to the state’s jurisdiction is a lead up to the January 17 events.Mahalo no,Leon SiuCelebrate Our Bicentennial! The Hawaiian Kingdom 1810-2010--------FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 3, 2010Contact: Leon SiuPhone - (808) 265-2085Email – Leon Siu leon@hits.netKey Words – DLNR, FAKE STATE, ABUSE, STRONG ARM TACTICS, NO JURISDICTIONDLNR PROTESTDLNR Abuses HawaiiansHONOLULU HAWAI`I – A demonstration will occur Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010, 7-9 AM, at Punchbowl and Beretania streets in Honolulu, protesting the strong-arm tactics of the Fake State of Hawai’i’s Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR).The purpose of the protest is to call attention to the sudden increase of unreasonable new DLNR rules and regulations; the strong-arm prosecution of native Hawaiians and Hawaiian nationals; and the fact that the state has no jurisdiction in the Hawaiian Islands.“I put the tent up over the food tables, just as I have done every year when we come to honor the Queen, but the DLNR agents said I now need a permit and took my tent!” said George Kahumoku Flores about his 10x10-foot pop-up tent DLNR agents seized on ‘Iolani Palace grounds during ceremonies honoring Queen Lili’uokalani. “The DLNR does not have jurisdiction over ‘Iolani Palace!” said Flores who will be also making that assertion at his court appearance right after the protest.“My civil rights as a Hawaiian national were violated when the DLNR confiscated ‘ili’ili (smooth water-worn pebbles) my family and I had gathered on a Maui beach, and the DLNR fined my wife and me for not having a permit,” said Mike Kop owner of Hula Supply Center in, ironically, Mo’ili’ili. The Kop family has been gathering the ‘ili’ili for nearly forty years, for hula dancers to use as traditional implements. “This was the first time over all those years that they told us we needed a permit,” Kop said, “and there were no signs posted.” “We maintain the fake state has no lawful jurisdiction in Hawai’i.”Demonstrators are also protesting actions by the DLNR agents who have been brandishing guns, harassing, threatening and terrorizing Hawaiian families (including young children) for practicing subsistence fishing at Ka’ena, Mokuleia and other O’ahu locations. The protesters maintain that the DLNR and the State of Hawaii has no documentation or records proving they or the U.S. have lawful jurisdiction over the Hawaiian Islands. For more information, contact Leon Siu at (808) 265-2085. The event is sponsored by Hawaiian Independence Action Alliance and Ka Lei Maile Alii Hawaiian Civic Club.nwoTools.jpg
