*THIS SHIT IS BANANAS* B.A.N.A.N.A.S.

monkeys like bananas !BananasHere is some good food info on bananas NO WONDER MONKEYS ARE SO ACTIVE!!!!After reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again!Bananas contains three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose. Combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet..Bananas

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier..PMS: Forget the pills -- eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood..Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia..Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat high blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke..Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert..Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives..Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system..Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief..Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness..Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation..Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system..Overweight and at work Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady..Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach..Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature..Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan..Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal..Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack..Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine," eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"BananasbananasLove and Light,♥Angel Love♥ BananasSource

    The Truth About Coconut Oil
    by Bruce Fife

Despite what you may have heard, coconut oil is a very healthy addition to your diet..

Like everyone else, I used to believe that coconut oil was an artery clogging saturated fat. Then several years ago I was in a meeting with a group of nutritionists and one of the members of the group stated that coconut oil was one of the good fats, that it didn’t cause heart disease, and that it had many health benefits. This went against everything I’d heard in the past. This nutritionist, however, backed up her statement and referred to studies that showed that coconut oil had many important nutritional and medical uses. Was coconut oil the evil villain or not? I had to find the answer..

I began looking and it soon became obvious to me that none of the doctors and nutritionists who were claiming that coconut oil was bad really knew anything about it. All they were doing was repeating what someone else had said, who in turn, repeated someone else, and on and on..

I realized that if I was going to find the truth I needed to go to the research. And that’s what I did… I started digging though the medical literature and looked up everything related to coconut oil… When I did this, I found hundreds of articles. And what I learned shocked me! I discovered that coconut oil had many important nutritional and medical applications. I also learned that there was no truth in the belief that coconut oil causes or even contributes to heart disease. In fact, I learned that if you want to protect yourself from heart disease you should be using coconut oil..

I began using coconut oil myself and recommending it to others. I’ve seen it help people with hemorrhoids, cancer, diabetes, psoriasis, gallbladder disease, bladder infections, flu, and many other health problems. I now have the opportunity of seeing how coconut oil affects people in a clinical setting. I see people all the time who use coconut oil and witness how it affects their lives. Some have experienced incredible improvement from a wide variety of health problems..

One of the interesting things about coconut oil is that it helps improve nutrient absorption. It improves absorption of minerals such as calcium and magnesium and thus aids in preventing osteoporosis. Also, it increases absorption of some of the B vitamins, the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K, beta-carotene) and some amino acids. Because it is easily digested, provides a quick and easy source of nutrition, and improves absorption of other nutrients, coconut oil has been recommended in the treatment of malnutrition..

Coconut oil seems to benefit a wide variety of skin conditions. It can help speed healing of cuts and burns, and it’s also great for fungal infections such as ringworm and athlete’s foot..

Research has shown coconut oil can be useful in the treatment and prevention of obesity. Studies show it may also be helpful in preventing liver disease, kidney disease, Crohn’s disease, cancer and many infectious illnesses such as the flu, herpes, bladder infections, and candida, to mention just a few. Studies are now being done to test its effectiveness against serious illness..

The reason people think coconut oil is unhealthy has nothing to do with science, but has everything to do with marketing and money. Back it the 1980s, people were concerned that saturated fats could raise cholesterol levels. The soybean industry realized this was a perfect opportunity to make a profit: if they could convince people that all saturated fats were bad and caused heart disease, people would eat more vegetable oil..

So the soybean industry spent millions in an anti-saturated fat and anti-tropical oils publicity campaign. Special interest groups joined in and because of the media blitz it didn’t take long before everyone believed coconut oil was an artery clogging fat..

People are still duped by the soybean industry’s attack on coconut oil. Many authors, too lazy to do their own research, still parrot the biased viewpoints produced by these groups.

I’m trying to change this by providing accurate information so that people can know the truth

From an old Kindness of Strangers blog:

Suggestions for breaking food addictions to dairy

Recently some friends have learned upsetting facts about dairy… There are many reasons people love dairy… Just because we know something is not good for us, or the Earth, (see Cattle Contribute to Global Warming or even that the mother cow cried for days when her calves are taken from her for veal, does not mean they can, or will, give up dairy…I learned back in 1990 that the allergies I was really suffering from cleared up completely when I gave up both dairy and sugar (But I still ate both occasionally and I had even seen a frightened calf tied up in the back of a truck driving into the slaughterhouse during a protest!)

First of all, be easy on yourself, it takes time to change…But one step at a time, you can do it

As Neal Barnard, MD, explained to me, dairy is addictive; it actually has a calming effect… Remember the old warm glass of milk to sleep at night? That old wive's tale is actually true, (see below of details) That is why a pitiful crying calf calms when he finds his mother and nurses…There are also some beneficial microbes we can crave from cheese that can be obtained from organic raw sauerkraut

I prefer another brand but this picture looks pretty good, and, yes, I do have a recipe for making it yourself!

    Cultured Veggies

Cultured Vegetables improve our intestinal health and strengthen our immune system to keep us healthy… They are easy to digest and offer beneficial probiotics, healthy bacteria and microorganisms, and enzymes

Plus, they contain even more cancer-fighting nutrients than their unfermented brothers! For more information see Fermented food benifits and raw sauerkraut

Are there substitutes that taste as good? No they taste better!

We do not want to just eat healthy all the time, what about those creamy delicious foods?

I use 100% organic canned coconut milk (not lite, but classic) as natural sweet and very creamy substitute for whipped cream and it is delicious on chocolate chip cherry soy ice cream (from Trader Joes) or try ORGANIC Soy Ice Cream

Earth Balance 100% organic whipped buttery spread Earth Balance Products is delicious!

In a fertile coastal valley, devoted Thailand farmers have achieved organic certification of their traditional coconut crop… Organic coconuts are generally smaller than their conventional counterparts, but the organically managed trees are more drought-resistant, and their soil is more rich and moisture retentive… A staple of Thai and many Asian cuisines, coconut milk lends rich and creamy goodness to classic regional dishes… Perfect in soups, curries, sauces, desserts, and beverages, Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk may be the most delicious coconut milk you have ever tasted

The following is from www. pcrm. org/news/health

Washington, DC—Anyone who's tried to give up coffee knows that caffeine is physically addictive, and many suspect the same about chocolate, but a new book by nutrition researcher Neal Barnard, MD, argues that other foods are just as habituating… Cheese, meats, and sugar release opiate-like substances that seduce us into eating them again and againThe book, Breaking the Food Seduction (St Martin's Press, June 2003), also reveals how industry, aided by government, exploits these natural cravings, pushing us to eat more and more unhealthy foods

Seven Steps to Breaking the Food Seduction

Tired of feeling like food has an uncontrollable hold on your life? Wondering whether you really could live without chocolate, cheese, sugar, or meat? Here's a list of tips to help you free yourself from unhealthy food cravings:1 Start with a good breakfast…Cutting hunger is the first step in cutting cravings

2 Choose foods that steady your blood sugar… Beans, green vegetables, fruit, and whole grains help prevent blood sugar dips that can lead to cravings

3 Eat at least 10 calories each day per pound of your ideal body weight… This tip is directed at calorie-cutting dieters who do not realize that, if they eat too little, their bodies stop making an appetite-controlling hormone called leptin… A person whose ideal weight is 150 pounds needs at least 1,500 calories per day, and probably much more

4 Break out of craving cycles, which can occur daily, monthly (with a woman's cycle), or yearly (with the change in seasons) Monthly chocolate cravings, for example, can be reduced with a low-fat, vegetarian diet, which tends to reduce the hormone swings that lead to cravings

5 Exercise and rest are keys to restoring your physical resilience

6 Use social support… Enlisting the help of friends and family makes changing habits much easier

7 Take advantage of other motivators… New parents, for example, may decide to eat healthy foods not just for themselves, but for the sake of their children

Most importantly, try the "Three-Week Break" Research shows that if you have managed to set aside an addicting food, such as chocolate, for three weeks, you crave it much less than if you had just had it yesterday

Breaking the Food Seduction includes a Three-Week Kickstart program and dozens of gourmet "addiction-free" recipes, including Portobello Mushroom Steaks, Eggplant Pecan Pesto, Tunisian Potato Salad, Spicy Noodle Soup, and Carob Walnut Fudge

    GETTING LOST WITH DRUGS
    Thank you Source

Heroin users "get lost" after injecting chemically processed poppy juice into their veins… Homer reported that Ulysses "got lost" during his odyssey after being lured into a gentle sleep caused by opiates… When Dorothy laid down in a poppy field in the Wizard of Oz, she fell into a very deep sleep… She followed a yellow brick road into a sleepy world of marmalade skies, cellophane flowers and marshmallow piesOpiates are narcotics, and they produce intense feelings of pleasure followed by a calm drowsy feeling… Opiates are addictive… Smokers of opiated hashish gently lose their way into narcotically-induced dreamlike states (no, not Colorodo or Vermont) The most wholesome cow's milk from organically raised bovines naturally contains a powerful opiate in the morphine family called casomorphin

Concentrated milk products (cheese, ice cream, and milk chocolate) contain concentrated quantities of these addictive narcotics.

… Now, you too can "get lost" by consuming America's most delicious legal opiate, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Hershey Foods is about to launch a new advertising campaign giving their best-selling bite-sized snack a new slogan: "Get Lost in a Reese's" Hersehy's will spend $10 million to promote their chocolate high to children

Who is their target group? Hershey's explains: "Young males are among the biggest eaters of candy, and Reese's is no exception" One ad portrays a growling dog that bites a young man in the leg… The boy feels no pain because he is munching on a Reese's… A second ad shows a kid whose pants get caught in an escalator, oblivious to the fact that he is about to be stripped to his underwear

What causes the drug-induced chocolate "high?" Could it be morphine, an opiate? Do chocolate manufacturers know that their product contains drugs? Let's examine milk chocolate… The three major ingredients of milk chocolate are, in order of abundance, sugar, milk, and chocolate… Florida researcher, Robert Cade, MD, has identified a milk protein, casomorphin, as the probable cause of attention deficit disorder

Dr Cade found Beta-casomorphin-7 in high concentrations in the blood and urine of patients with either schizophrenia or autism… Eighty percent of cow's milk protein is casein… After eating milk chocolate, casein breaks down in the stomach to produce a peptide opiate, casomorphine

Visit http://www. severaid. org and find the dairy connection: "Exorphins appear to produce...lack of awareness of events, anti-social behavior, and decreased verbal skills

Many of these behaviors are similar to those noted on chronic heroin addiction… Studies by Karl Riechelt indicate a very strong association between certain autistic behaviors and ingestion of dairy..." Government statistics suggest that America is home to 64 million nicotine addicts (cigarette smokers), 18 million alcoholics, 12 million marijuana smokers, and 2 point 3 million opiate and cocaine users

Opiates in chocolate have not yet made their top ten drug list, but make no mistake about it, folks… Drugs work, and milk is physiologically addictive… Nature's way is to include chemical messengers that make nursing pleasurable… That same mechanism is what also makes weaning so difficult

Most American adults have never been weaned from the addictive effects of milk… Get lost with milk chocolate? Hersehy's relies upon addicted children to generate increased candy sales… So, "Get lost" with milk chocolate and satisfy a physiological addiction to casomorphin

Are you a chocolate junkie? Get Lost with Reeses!
