Got this off of the Honolulu Advertiser. It is best to avoid:* Using your real last name on social networking sites.* Posting the only e-mail addres you have - especially a work e-mail.* Listing your employer anywhere on your site...* "Friending" people at work.* Including your social networking site link as a part of your work signature on e-mail and other correspondence.* Writing about work experiences.* Posting pictures taken at workBlog on dude!
Once I read the Advertiser piece I pulled my last name. Not like half the people on this site don't know who I am anyway.
Did you ever do a Google search on yourself? I also do Google Alerts to keep up to date on issues with my job and to see if get ank kine odd stuff posted about me.
hmm.. well, for those who aren't "social networking" pros, hehehe, yep, this is definitely good advice! Personally, because of a bad experience I've had in the past, I've learned very well how to look for "friends only settings" and utilize them to their fullest abilities! :D
