Only in America if you want to call it that anymore does the government protect animals and trees before people! The Hawaiian Kings would never let anyone go homeless, they at worst cast the defeated to areas of lesser resources but all had the ability to build their own home on land. Today under state-ism our most basic right to build shelter for ourselves in the forest is gone. If these homeless where to build an encampment in the forest and plant crops trees and gather water and fish the state would promptly charge them with trespassing. That is sad and wrong. We as a society do not owe the impoverished a continued stream of tax money for their welfare, but we do owe them the security of their and our right to live a basic subsistence lifestyle if they or we so wish to, outside of corporatism outside of regulation.
