    Aloha e hoahanau:

    I suggest you join the Mokuauhau Group on Maoliworld.  I think you'll find it interesting and a good resource.  I put out some of the genealogy there, too.  I hope your New Year was good and that it will continue to be good for you.

    Mahi Pu'ulei was ehu Hawaiian witth a ruddy complexion and was a mahi'ai as far as I know.  Kalaukehau comes from Kaianui line and Kauka (k) who married into that line comes from Puna, Hawai'i and was the son of Keawe (k) and Laihi (w).   Later, I'll try to give you more info.  Betty Pu'ulei married Nani Pu'ulei (deceased) and Ruby (Pu'ulei) Silva live in Waiana'e-Nanakuli area on Oahu.   My Mom (Ellen Augusta Maki'ilei Pu'ulei) was married to David M.K. Inciong, Sr. and her sister, Elizabeth Mary Keala'aumoe married Larry Watkins.  We have lots of descendants many on Oahu.

    My grandfather was Luther Ambrose Kawelookamahamahai'aonakaihauliuliokapakipika Puulei, son of Mihilani Pu'ulei and Ellen Kameha'iku Nahina.  Mahi Pu'ulei and Kalaukehau (kaianui) Kauka was his grandparents.

     

    Yes, we are related.  LOL...  The family comes from Ha'ena and Wainiha, Kaua'i.

    Congratulations on graduating! I had to take a year off, but I'm going back to Manoa this semester. Our plays were pretty bad ass. Well If I don't get to see you, at least we can keep in touch through this. I'm going to take HAW 102, so maybe I'll be able to converse in maka 'olelo Hawai'i. Aloha no.
