off of Vietcom leaders in their huts, had bullet wounds, shrapnel from landmines,
and pieces of a rod stuck in his foot from the Vietcom when he was taken captive. I'm very proud to mention this Hawaiian as my uncle. A born natural at football too ;) My cousin Edwin(Son of My Great uncle Edwin son of
my great great grandma Rachel's son John) also lives on Maui with a few children of
his own. He trains all the cops here or at least
he was one of the trainer. His father Edwin/Buddy(My great uncle) was also a cop
as well a John(Both brothers to my grandfather Harry George Among of Honolulu.
Who'se right hand man was a prison corrections officer that actually defeated
Casius Clay(Muhammad Ali) in boxing on the original score cards before they rigged
the fight on boxing records and stated that he fought Duke Sabedong under the name
Muhammad Ali and outscored him. They lied about the event after the fact and Duke
didn't get a second chance to beat him. Original score card 15-8.
or 7th child of Rachel. Many died at early years or at birth that were sibblings as
I understood it. But, he also mentioned a few of his sibblings were of this
different father's blood also. But, I do not recollect. He is buried right next
to his 2nd wife at Maui memorial cemetary in Wailuku at Roselani section 19 plot

Cousin Melanie Thompson tends to her grandmother's property there in Hookena. I think she said it was next to Kawika Cipriano's property? I dunno if I got that correct. But Melanie said that b/c of my researching the people there, she never realized the connection to Kawika's "Nahinu" ohana. My grandma had 2 kids from a Nahinu. Melanie's grandma was Julia Bush who married Wm. Thompson. Julia was the youngest, Elizabeth was one of the older ones, and my granmda...also named Julia was way younger than those 2.
I had to be niele, noticing you mentioned Hookena on Lana's page and her mentioning Rockingham which I found for her in the Kue Petition many yrs. ago. My ties go back to Hookena too. In fact, Rachel had remarried to Enoch Kaaua, who was previously married to Louisa Kaaeamoku. Both Enoch and Louisa had a hanai daughter - elizabeth "kapeka" bush. My grandma was hanai'd by elizabeth's birth mother - julia wahakoele kaai. And my grandma's step-father's family, who was probably related to Julia Kaai somehow, had ties to S. Kona. I've traced quite a bit of families of that area.
Aloha, Lana

Rockingham was just the haolefied version of Lokinihama at the time so I wrote it out because some people knew her as that. She was the daughter of Benny Keakuanui and Pale Kauwe. My book is kinda huge though. With so many people then got some side branches. Grandma Rachel also married someone else after Goo Among and saw that she signed the Ku'e Anti-Annexation Petition. I have sent copies of it to some of my aunts because some of them didn't know and they cried when I showed it to them. I believe she is #24 here:

under Mrs. Lokini Among. She was only 20 which I think is pretty awesome!
Well I believe your grandfather Henry had 10 children. The Among family is huge which is an understatement.
Nice to meet you here too. Aloha, Lana
