Sorry Tina's my cousin on my mother's side, She states that she is ohana on the Hanakahi side, her grandmother Catherine Gilman is my grandfather David Gilman's sister. Anyway, she blew me away with her insisting that she is ohana. Her grandmother was married to a Daniel Hanakahi (her 2nd marriage). She confused me when she stated that Hanakahi Lono was her grandfather. I asked her about her relations and how was she his granddaughter and that's where the confusion came in. She started dropping names left and right and I still couldn't make the connection. She said that she has every right to be at this ohana reunion and wanted me to talk to the Lono ohana. I told her that I don't have the right to speak on her behalf for this is my husband's ohana and if she feels that she is able to prove that she is Ohana then she shouldn't have any problem. I am so sorry that this is happening and please apologize to the ohana. I never thought she would be so persistant about being ohana. And I take responsibility for mentioning to her about the ohana reunion, I thought she being ohana she knew about the reunion, until I realized that she began giving me all these names that I wasn't familiar with. But get this one, she resently sent me documents about my grandfather and in the documents she enclosed Papa Hanakahi and Mama Kaamoku's marriage certificate. That blew me away. Again I truly apologize.
Aloha,
Lokenani
