This is actually my wifes mo`okuauhau. Im trying to pick up where others have left off. I know they come fromd Kalihiwai, Kauai. Im not sure if they came from Niihau prior.....probably with the 'T' in her name. Have you ever heard any of these names before? Mahalo for any info you can provide.

Dis is NT Flo again, in reference to Helela ohana, if u haven't already, there is a book out titled "NA MELE 'WELO ( SONGS OF OUR HERITAGE) in the Roberts Mele Collection at B. Museum translated by Nt Kawena Pukui but available at bookstores, there is a pic of Kamehaitu Helela of Hanapepe, Kaua'i on p. 52, also printed are some of her oli's or mele...such an honor to be connected to our intelligent kupuna of the past...hope this will help. Mahalo for your input on Helela ohana..there are many descendants here in Waianae, the Solomons, and in Waialua the Kaaiawaawa. I will let them know of your connection and point out this site to make connections with you..not promising if there will be any reply or how soon or later it will happen..just here to try to make the connections of all our po'e Hawaii to become one again..NT Flo
