Let's Court the Folks at KPFA in Berkeley!

If you read my blog, you'll find out that C.S. Soong, the excellent host of the radio show, Against the Grain on KPFA, interviewed the Superferry Chronicles authors today. You'll be able to listen to it on his website, www.againstthegrain.org or link to it through the KPFA website. Because he's sooooo good at doing his homework on issues, I've long thought of him as a top prospect for giving encouragement and info about covering HI issues. I even got a couple extra copies of Keanu Sai's stuff for him - and yet have put off taking it down to the studio. But no more procrastination - I'm taking it down today. Please join me in emailing and calling C.S. Soong to let him know you're happy he's covering the struggle in Hawai'i!

  • I am so glad to see that KPFA is still doing so many good things and great programming on important issues, music, etc. I did alot of radio shows with KPFA especially in the 1970's and glad to see them still around. I think part of PBS or some other independent type.

When I lived on the mainland, I only knew a smidgen of what Hawaii was going through, has been going through, because of my friends, kapuna, and most of all a knowing inside my heart. A strong wind has been calling me for many years and 22 months ago I took flight. I gave up many things to be here, but here is where I needed to be and my purpose and path has been laid out for me and gets clearer daily. What I gave up will never compare to what I am receiving.

I am here to serve, help, heal, educate, and love amongst all who are my ohana. Mahalo nui loa for the post

    • Aloha e Tricia,
It would be wonderful if you'd tell us more about your radio involvement with KPFA in the 70's, if you're ever inclined!
      Mahalo!

  • Just dropped a package of material off to C.S. Soong at KPFA in Berkeley. Anyone want to email him and thank him for his show of yesterday? Encourage him to do more on the struggles?
