The Crown and Government Lands Are Saved! Bullshit!

The 2009 Legislature passed legislation that the state, OHA, etc., are saying - that the lands are saved. The legislation provides that a 2/3 vote of the legislature is necessary to sell. However, the "sneaky buggah" in the woodpile is that it takes 2/3 vote against - to keep lands from being EXCHANGED. In other words - only 1/3 vote is needed for land exchanges. One only needs to buy some land, then hit up the state to exchange that land for any parcel of Crown and Government lands (the so-called "ceded lands"). While the 2/3 needed to confirm sales may be relatively hard to get, getting one-half of that - 1/3 is a lot easier. So - Are the lands saved? I don't think so. Therefore, more effort needs to be put into protecting Hawaiian lands. And when I say "HAWAIIAN" - I mean "HAWAIIAN KINGDOM LANDS!!!!!" ku

  • Just typical in a bad way. I’m not sure how I feel about government land but stealing from folk* is really BAD.
