SO WHAT IS NAIHE UP TO IN KOHALA?

Yes, I've been really quiet eh?  SMILE...Ok so much to tell which if I post it on my page it would be many updates...I'll give you an overview:

MAHUKONA where my ancestor J.W. Naihe, former House of Nobles "back in the day" has property but of course we all know the shenanigans of corrupt businessmen during the days of thrones...well Mahukona has been put on the back burner as we continue to say in hearings "How can building permits not expire after 20 yrs of an ongoing litigation" - Who's dumb here now?  SAD.

Our immediate concern turned to HALE 'O KA'ILI (House of Kuka'ilimoku) and KAPANAIA area (Kamehameha I's favorite surf spot).  New development selling off when they had no permits approved by our Hawaii County.  The developers took down their website after we "when blow da whistle".  It's still an ongoing process.  Families & Friends still caretaking the area have fenced it off, cleaned the area and posted signs of it's exhistence.  Many sacred Pohaku have recently been removed - not good.  We are discussing wanting the State and County to return large pohaku to the area which we know are scattered at different locations here and in Hilo - all belonging to this area.  It is said, that once these were removed, the failure of all sugar plantations started to crumble - HEWA!  MmmmHmmm.  What timing this all happened, someone had a dream of our Kohala kupuna who took care of these many sites, this same deceased for years Kupuna appeared on PBS discussing cultural & sacred sites a few months later viewed by the person who had the dream, then a month after that we were alerted and we had to run here from Mahukona...attorney and all because this is the area that formed who we are today...how our nation actually started in history.  LISTEN TO THE KUPUNA OF PAST AND PRESENT...It's been quiet, the county visited the site on a tour we provided and still more quiet - what to do?  SMILE...waiting is also goood sometimes...SMILE.

Then out of thin air KAUHOLA POINT comes into our lap from out of the sky looking for someone to hold title to it - we were approached.  This is what we are doing now while embers still await us at Mahukona, Hale o Ka'ili, Kapanaia & OTHERS...

In between all these projects, we have extended the State Lapakahi State Park - so that the owner would not build a resort home.  PAO'O (our contested case hearing 4 yrs ago) is now part of this historical corridor as the landowner agreed to sell it and HI County Funds securing it under our 2% Land Legacy Fund.  We are the only county with such a fund because we put it out to ballot and the people of our island rallied to save open space on historical and sacred sites.  During this time also funds were secured with NORTH KAIHOLENA 156 acres? gosh can't remember - we are also rallying funding for SOUTH KAIHOLENA.  This is efforts also of many other groups support thru our rallying - AWESOME!  We have definitely created a good network of "working well with each other for the common good".  I'm still not fond of some hawaiians who like to settle for a key to have access with their so called "land friends" cuz we go for all not a select few to have access.  These "land friends" only limit our work...they forget that whatever contract they have does not extend to the rest of their family - all will be lost - yeah SELL OUTS FOR LAND - SELL OUTS FOR ALI'I...I say this because "Land is Likened To An Ali'i, Therefore We Are Only Stewards Of Land" aka:  Stewards for Ali'i!

How you go about land issues you are either respecting or disrespecting Ali'i by the way you respond and react....whatever you do, you either curse or bless on land...Think About It...Are you Fair?  Are You Loving?  Are You Blessed In Return?  What Are You Doing For Land? aka:  What Are You Doing for Ali'i?

This is why I have been away from Maoliworld...Wake up Members of Maoliworld - WORK TOGETHER & UNITE ALL GROUPS INTO ONE!  If we can attempt to unite these lands to Pu'ukohola to keep for open space as much as we can...why is it hard for people to work together "as one"?

NOTE:  All these lands I mention are just a few.  From Pololu Valley to Kawaihae is just a start to the "Hawaiian Historical Corridor" when it meets at the first piko of Pu'ukohola Heiau National Site.  Lands stretching in this area has a significant role to Pu'ukohola...how we all started first in our Kingdom!  PAU! (at least for now) - gotta LOVE how spirit moves in this...SOO AWESOME!

    • Hui Aunty Sharon,

Like you, I know a lot of people check back here to see what's up but tired of the same nonsense talk of a "select few" here who keep us away. I've been busy...noticing as I'm updating my smart phone calendar, I find that I have 7 mtgs in the 1st 12 days of Nov. Had to bail out of Kalahikiola's Bazaar this year but I won't miss their plate lunches...SMILE. My husband is at our other home in Tennessee taking care of business and will return at Christmas. Things there are so darn cheap compared to living here in Hawaii nei. We'll probably go back for summer in 2011 - I need a break from the cost of living here. While there I plan to meet w/a neighbor family friend who's great grandfather was a chief, I don't know what tribe but he's interested in turning 2000 acres of property he has into a park for preservation before he passes on. I'm open to what spirit would have me do in where I am needed - anything for my husband & boys and their native koko. I'll check the message. Hey you have a great Thanksgiving if I don't hear from you. I got most of the Thanksgiving trimmings but it won't be same without my husband's good cookin'...Blessings Sharon...SMILE
  • Welcome back! It takes many voices, and lot's of hardwork to try and rational what's infront of us. Fact, or not best to say the things that is on our mind, lest it is heard in the unconcious. I don't propose that I know or am always right, all that I can do is to keep asking, researching, and try to not make too many mistakes along the way.

If not, than others will do the talking for us!

I did not know what 'off the grid' meant until I recently visited Big Island. Oahu is spoiled in that sense, but what that means no time for anything else. So, we are hard at work on Oahu daily and sometimes 24/7. But, no man is an island, therefore, agree or not one needs to keep at grinding out the information--as I said we had let other's do the talking and from my view point- that needs to stop.

I once said protocol for genealogy, but maybe I was wrong. The facts, and rational has to become a process in genealogy research and the 'overthrow'. Even if it means finding out that my family contributed and hindered the Hawaiian Kingdom --why would I want my great grandchildren to do that research sometime in the future. It's best that I do that now. Was my great grandparents part of the PG"s the answer was yes! If so, what capacity? Did they make a positive impact? or a dirty one? What is my kuleana? What can I do to remedy the mistakes they made or how can I enhance those that were loyal to 'Liliu'. This in my mind is everyone's kuleana--we all had sell outs in our genealogy!

Lot's of work here on Oahu that is on going and never stop. Leimomi Mookini is a girl friend of mine that I try to nurture. She has the Parker DNA and I respect her every word for she is a composer, a master of hula and chants. I am very blessed to have come to know her and connect with Pu'ukohola Heiau National Site through her mana'o. She is a dear friend.

    • Kaohi, I love your perspective here on this post. We can not change the past but we can improve the future.
  • So...for "Tina" and her Amelia Gora network who last commented on my past post of 'AINA AND KOKO"...what cha got to say now? MmmmHmmm.

NOTE: When the Cat is Away The "Mice" Shall Play...so now the Cat is back! Do I Now Have Your Tongue? SMILE..It's people like you that make me stay away from Maoliworld "No Sense Talk" For In Your Mind: IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU! All about what you have in your so called "genealogy" which I question. You may have started it correctly but you have swayed way off course. Don't tell me who I am NOT. Don't tell me who I am related to and who I am NOT. Cuz You DON'T KNOW ME! If you were related to me, you would know what we are up to. Only my family & close friends know. So what does that make you? ______________ fill in what you like and don't give me 'opala anymore. Life is too short fo B.S.
    • iAM NOT INTRESTED IN WHAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES DO I AM ONLY INTRESTED ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE THIS ALL UP TO HEAVEN . YOUR MONEY POWER AND AND WHAT EVER S JESUS DID NOT WANT US TO BE GREED OR ABOUT LAND HOW ABOUT THE INJUSTICE THAT WAS DONE TO THE QUEEN ARE YOU THERE.
      • Tina, I don't get paid or receive money for what I do...and I don't raise the money for what I get - it all comes from heaven. We can't change history of the past and all the ugliness but we can move forward and work in a positive direction for the greater good. In fact Tina, I stepped out from a cushy State Government job to do this full-time in LOVE.
        • LOVE YOU COUSIN I JUST LIKE MAKING TROUBLE I PRAYED TO BE THE TROUBLE MAKER ANGEL SO HERE I AM GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL THE FAMILIES TINA
