FREE!Dr. Puakea Nogelmeier is an Associate Professor of Hawaiian Language at the University of Hawaii, where he has taught for 25 years. After coming to Hawai‘i at age 18, Puakea joined Mililani Allen's halau hula in Wai'anae, which fostered an interest in Hawaiian language and culture. He has followed that interest in many directions over more than three decades with language, poetry, literature and history as his major fields of study.The Talk Story Series was created to promote Hawaiian music events and courses, and to recognize Hawaiian music masters who reside on the Windward side. Ke Kumu Pali is responsible for guiding Hawaiian studies courses and related endeavors at Windward Community College.
