Event Description

PŌ ILINA WAI is a pā'ina and classical chamber music 'aha mele that will be presented bilingually beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Hawai'i Bilingual members and their guests will gather at the Ward Rafters beginning at 6:00 p.m. at 3810 Maunaloa St. (third floor) in Kaimukī - where free parking is available on 15th and 16th Avenues - bringing “potluck” pūpū food and drinks to share, plus a suggested $10 musicians’ honorarium (a donation is required for admission).

Paul Harvey: Three Etudes on Themes of Gershwin for Clarinet Solo (1930)

Robert Alexander Schumann: Three Romances for Oboe & Piano (Op. 94, 1849)

Johann Nepomuk Hummel: String Quartet No. 1 in C-major (Op. 30/1, c. 1804-08)

PŌ ILINA WAI programs are presented in both Hawaiian and English languages at private gatherings at the end of each month until the Hawai'i State Legislature shall adopt an Official Languages Act, confirming an end to the era of Hawaiian cultural genocide.
