SORRY FOR THE SHORT NOTICE;For those of you on the Island of Kaua'i, there is a public hearing this morning regarding County of Kaua'i Bike path that they want to run through the sacred sands (and last area that is intact of Mahunapu'uone Burial) on Wailua Beach. I would like to invite you to share your testimony and mana'o of the Wailua area. The issue is whether there was a violation of the environmental laws, and also the cumulative impacts that were never addressed in this project; together with the Kūhiō Hwy. improvements, the bridge and Coco palms, there should really be an EIS on the cumulative impacts on a nationally recognized cultural and historical area. Native Hawaiian people have rights and interest to preserve this last and most significant area for cultural continuity. This would also be a benefit for everyone to keep the area intact spiritually -Hope to see you at the planning commissions chambers!Mahalo!Noelani
